Maybe they will improve fps a bit in the future, for me the biggest problem is poor visibility on low settings.

if i am not getting 300 fps with my 1060 6gb then this game might just lose a lot of players cuz in asia some of my friends still play with their 1050 or 960 gpu cards

well those cards are 8 years old at this point and the beta is still a beta that straight up isnt working properly like i saw an fps increase by increasing my settings like thats not supposed to happen also to be noted those weren't good cards when they were released let alone 8 years later

thats supposed to happen if your gpu is newer and better than your cpu. The computer will automatically focus more on the gpu if you increase the video settings

an 'i3' is never a gaming machine. It was never marketed as a gaming CPU, that's i5/7/9. Valve have to keep innovating and moving the game forward.

to my knowledge Source was heavily based upon the original GoldSrc that the original Half Life used in the 90s.
2023-09-01 07:23

correct it is based off of GoldSrc but It has a wider range of features and capabilities, such as advanced physics and AI, as well as improved graphics, and support for more modern technologies like DirectX 9 and 10. meaning a more efficient bang for your buck in terms of visuals and calculation speed which allows a higher fps despite having more calculations to do

but it is still based on an engine from the 90s. Even in 2500, if there i a single line of code from GoldSRC, it is still an engine with roots in the 1990s, that's how programming works. I get paid a shit tonne for doing it.

what's the point of changing the game's graphics engine? why didn't they just update cs go for better optimization? the physics of this source2 sucks, cs go didn't need to change the graphics engine, because cs has always been focused on gameplay and not graphics, even more cartoon graphics

Any engine will meet its limits. There is only so many times you can superglue onto something without the original code & software tumbling around it. Eventually it is simpler to just move on to new things.

nah, in my case i9 is for rapid compiling code & rendering videos lel, it just games like a beast as a side effect. Also tbh for modern games i'd recommend an i7 over an i5 if you can afford the small difference

Dota 2 is totally different game , not comparable. CSGO and Valorant are easy on hardware, CSGO because it's old, Valorant because it was made like that with simple graphics, typical riot game. I think they will optimize it a bit, but don't expect it will be way better, you need a better PC if you want more FPS in CS2.

bro I mean what did you expect... source1 requires a gpu just to be there, the only thing it needs is cpu. source 2 rendering pipeline is much more complex and puts more pressure on gpu. Cpu requirement stays the same. Average gaming pc with more balanced parts wouldn't drop more than 20-30% of performance from csgo. in my case I play on high settings and get really respectable fps

Recently I have been playing cs 1.6 a lot and believe me csgo feels souless in contrast. The movement is just so crispy. Plug and play aspect is unreal. hop onto a server. Vote for map. Play knife round. Select sides and bam. Vote kick trolls and afks. Really don't like how modern games suck so much time. If I had to put it in one word I would say csgo is more frustrating to play. I think cs2 could learn a lot from this game but I guess it's wishful thinking

i3 9100 I mean come on What did you expect? It is a new game, you obviously will need at least passable Hardware for that. I am not sure if that gpu is bottlenecking you in any way (it is however lower than minimum starfield requirements, just saying), but the cpu most certainly is gonna be a problem for any remotely modern game.
2023-09-01 07:51
"SoUrCe 2 WiLl Be OpTiMiZeD tHaN sOuRcE1" "BiGgEr NuMbEr BeTteR" Why would they release a game that requires less or same PC specs, that would be terrible for future sponsorship. Looks matter to new-coming players, remember all the CSGO fanboys saying CS1.6 looks like shit and CS1.6 fans said gameplay > graphics, here we are again suck it up how you going to lure in young players to a game that "looks" dated. This thread reminds me of when CSGO came out from CS1.6, get used to it, it was expected I don't understand why you'd expect anything different. End of the day graphics are a skin, skins don't have any impact how the game plays but it sure as hell sells.

nah bro. it is the same with competitive and non competitive games. hardware that was created for getting for example 60 fps at mid settings in 2014 is going to get same fps with same settings in game with engine of 2014. I mean i understand your concern but it is how it is. any other super popular game will run the same on your hardware. the only thing now that is bad is some ue5 titles which have ridiculous requirements even for today's standard. so it is fully justified as your build was considered low-mid end even in 2016 or whatever year you bought it. so for example if you buy today's low-mid end hardware and play some fresh 2023 title you would get the same fps or even worse because the game is noncompetitive and maxes out on fidelity of it. it is just your mindset that is wrong here
