I had the same doubts some time ago, wanted to learn french but it wasn't because i planned to go to france or other specific country, and i decided it isn't necessary, and rather focus on improving english. If you don't plan to go somewhere specific, you could also improve your english level to the point where you can even have new possibilities for jobs, especially if you haven't established a career yet

i dunno if im being arrogant or not but i can already understand/speak fluently without ever thinking just like my native language, i might have grammatic problems here and there but nothing major. there is very little room to imrprove besides new words and accent wise

In my uni they offer sign language course for students as credit hours. It isn't hard, but as far as I know: there are many different types of sign language, it isn't universal. In brazil we use Libras, in the US they use ASL. Don't know how much it differs, though

Spanish is one of the most tricky ones for the non native, if the objective is to learn several in a few years will be better to leave it for now. Try russian, is very easy to learn, grammar is a bit sketchy but not impossible

Man, wtf, why are you writing some tricky pronounciations? They're pronounced, not written, you know. And you can't measure the difficulty of the language by some of those stupid accents, that could be found here and there all over South America. The only damn difficult thing in Spanish is the amount of verbal forms and when to use them, everything else is just time. On the other hand, Russian is a disaster in many ways.

If your goal is to learn as many languages as possible or be able to communicate with the most people in the world: Either go for french, or spanish. It'll be hard at the beginning since both of thoselanguages can differ quite a lot from english, german or (taking flag into account) persian. French shares the same latin origin and grammatical structure as both spanish and portuguese, also: Transitioning from spanish > portuguese is extremely easy. Super similar languages, and it'll cover like 700-800 million people.

french prides itself in having stupidly unnecessary convoluted rules of grammar with thousands of exceptions that make no sense. french academia is just a circlejerk about who can memorize all these unique cases that have zero consistency. something only snobs can appreciate. learn spanish, maybe italian if you're feeling a little rebel, they are both a million times easier and will help you understand the other latin languages. who cares if you can't memorize some obscure conditional past tense of a third group verb spelling source: native french but conversational in spanish and italian
