The physics in totk are pretty groundbreaking, and the switch’s hardware and totk not being on other platforms isn’t exactly the game or developers fault, it’s nintendo as a company being dogshit. Yes totk is a lot like botw for combat and world design, but the actual interactions with the world are much different and a ton of things are different when you actually play. It is very much not a cut and paste, especially since every modern 3d Zelda plays so differently.
The scores both totk and bg3 get are pretty much exactly the same and realistically the only reason they’re dragged down at all is because of very minor nitpicks (setting aside the 1 or 2 low reviews for each because the reviewer either didn’t like the game genre or liked previous games in the series more, which for bg3 is extremely surprising). Both are extremely good games and I wouldn’t be upset if either won, but I just think totk has the edge, especially when you take into account how beloved botw is and that generally the adventurous style in totk is more popular than turn based rpgs.
Edit: tbh neither of these games are really revolutionary but they’re just both so high quality in what they do it’s hard for most games in history to match them other than those few games that are labeled as revolutionary.
