I think not having a single dane with a top-1 is much crazier, so yeah, its not that easy actually and some scenes manage to develop some crazy t1 lineups but never have a player who's capable of getting the top-1 spot Russia has actually won the major twice NaVi with Boombla, electronic, Perfecto + s1mple who's half russian and Outsiders (VP) you have like 8 different major winners in CS:GO, thats a pretty good achievement

well, its was revealed by the russian speaking community millions of times + confirmed by the ukrainians that his father is russian and that he bears a common russian surname
2023-09-06 03:06
+ I think he said something like that on his stream too when somebody asked him. something about him having russian roots because of his father/mother
2023-09-06 03:09
its not really relevant though, he's ukrainian but technically the team consisted by the majority of Ruskies and NaVi had a russian flag at that time so some people can claim that Russia has won a major twice which is partly true
2023-09-06 03:08

Didnt know that about him And navi had russian flag just because of that the roster consisted of 4 russians at the time when he was only 1 to be from ukraine

No, that's a misconception. If HLTV had "Danish bias", Device would've been number 1 in 2018, not s1mple. HLTV will see Device's 2023 exactly as it should be seen, even if you do not.

it depends on these last few events imo. He has the fourth highest rating at big events this year, behind zywoo, jackz (who has 6 maps) and KSCERATO. If he keeps up his current form and Astralis continue to make deeper runs like Cologne He can certainly sneak in. There are (counting EPL) 7 more S-tier events as defined by Liquipedia. Astralis is currently at 4 and has the chance to be at 2 others.

anything below top 5 would be daylight robbery. this year he is easily better than sh1ro, sunpayus and simple. at worst: Zywoo, niko, m0nesy, spinx, device... less deep playoff runs and whatnot will of course hurt his placing but if we're being real hes 100% a top 5 player this year but yeah realistically he'll probably only just make top 8-10

No, this year he has zero relevant S-Tier playoffs bar Cologne, hardly any maps played and a potential EVP from Cologne. Brazy Party was his best event and that's not even S-Tier. Sure, he's easily Top 5 individually this year but realistically, he would at best net a Top 10 placing.

+1
2023-09-06 15:33
he has more maps than zywoo against top20 opponents overall, he just cant rank that high because he missed quite a few big events he can get to top 8-ish if his rating doesnt start to drop, which it has
2023-09-06 03:53

As it stands right now, Device is unlikely to be Top 10. That can easily change but hardly any maps played, barely any S-Tier events attended and Cologne being his only decent placing... The only thing in Device's favour is crazy statistics and a possible Cologne EVP. Brazy Party is A-Tier and they lost that tournament. It's possible but would depend on Device's and Astralis' placements for the rest of the year.
2023-09-05 23:47

Brazy party doesn't count since it had about 2 games for playoffs in which astralis/c9 were invited, and it's online.

Astralis being shit shouldn't have THAT much of an effect on where he places, the guy has been consistently insane this year, one of the top 5 players in the world probably. Look at 2022, Astralis were even worse and BlameF came 12th, Device has easily been better in 2023 than BlameF was in 2022.
2023-09-07 00:43
3 replies
That's exactly my point. If BlameF didn't even crack the Top 10 last year with his insane statistics, then Device has no chance. I actually had BlameF as a Top 10 prediction that year and because of his sample size and lack of tier 1 attendances, 12th was the best that he got. Device has a better chance than BlameF to appear but I think he needs more placings and another EVP or two to get it.

hltv.org/stats/players/18221/spinx?start.. hltv.org/stats/players/19230/m0nesy?star.. i see spinx has slightly more adr & slightly better stats against top 5 / 20 , with few more maps played , i dont see a world where m0nesy can take spinx n3 this year tbh , even tho spinx didnt get any mvp this year , he won a major & the evp will weight alot his placing
2023-09-05 23:35

you have to at least filter their stats by using "top-20/30" anyway, the overall rating looks something like this hltv.org/stats/players?startDate=2023-01.. and as I said, m0nesy is n.2 by openings n.2 by pistol rating n.3 by rating against top-5 + 3 evps Spinx is for sure an insane player, taking his role into consideration but m0nesy is gonna be higher unless Spinx does something crazy aaand wins at least 1 mvp this year to have an advantage
2023-09-05 23:40

nop you dont have to , filtering top 20 30 is useless cause it count their games that they were in top 20 / 30 ranking , not their games against top 20 30 teams , u should always count on the featured rating inside their statistics

Why is that? After HLTV filters out their ratings, the stats are gonna be lower anyway. even the stats that I link now are gonna be lower because they have some weird criteria and way of cutting their ratings all matches is used by nobody but you lol

HLTV doesnt filter by top 20 lmao they use all stats from relevant events and make list based on all matches rating playoff rating elite event rating impact rating and mvps/evps or other unaccessable stats like last year for blamef adr in lost rounds aka proving him as exit fragger Filtering by top 20 is irrelevant
2023-09-06 00:39
43 replies
No, its not irrelevant, I dont have all the tools to filter out all the bad games so the easiest way is choosing big events against top-20 which would give you almost the same stats as if you picked every big tournament by hand + only counted the playoffs rating Btw your rating against top-5 is one of the most important ones, something they point out every year, so filtering by top-20/5 is def. not "irrelevant" as you stated my dear s1mple hater/blind ZywOo fan

In fact, when you choose something else than "all" filter its not for when you play vs vs top50,30 etc... its a rzting for when you were playing in a topX team vs a topx team. HLTV doesnt use this filter, what they do is they let "all" and then watch the "featured rating" that are on the bottom of the player profil.
2023-09-06 12:49

Thats funny as hell. So you are saying that we should use the "all matches" filter which would never match unless you havent played any joke show match tournaments? "All matches" means that even some funky FunSpark events are gonna get counted. Every showmatch. No sht all matches can be used if you only played at good events. Doesnt work for those who play low tier- events / showmatches. Not to mention that their most important ratings are listed as elite-tier, top-5 and playoffs.

hltv.org/news/35379/top-20-players-of-20.. Funspark Ulti already in article Thats for overall rating so my whole point is filtering top 20 is irrelevant most of the time There are lot of factors to make list All matches/big events/elite events(kato cologne majors and world final)/impact rating/big matches(playoff+elimination Even some stats we dont access hltv.org/news/35340/top-20-players-of-20.. Like Another notable statistic that kept him back is that while he was very impactful in wins, his stats are boosted by some margin in the losses as he survived more often in losses than most players on the top 20 list and dealt the most damage out of anyone in losses (63.2 ADR).

Who the hell are you to tell me to not argue with you, moron? Link me at least one game from 2023 where he faced a top-5 team also #128 this. ET have never been top-20, yet it shows the matches and strictly against the teams that are top-20, what a coincidence
2023-09-06 02:27
I literally linked you all of his matches played this year. Feel free to tell us what team was top-5 that wasnt counted in "top-5 filter" he is literally playing t2-t3 events. Hs chances of facing a top-5 team are zero.

ur argument is too weak he didnt face top 5 teams cause he play in t2 3 , everything is obv idk why u act dumb , featured say he played 3 maps against top 5 teams , go look for it ur self not gonna do job for u , every analyst already proved that the featured rating is the base stats for players , not the filter ranking , do a favor & look for it ur self , instead of giving all those false based statistics

My original argument is #129 but you completely ignored it. him playing t2-t3 events where big teams dont even play is a fact, thats why you cant find any of his opponents being top-5 you're also switching from one thing to another. first that "top filter" now you are talking about the whole profile page in general as I said earlier, ET have never reached top-20 in 2023, yet you can see their stats against top-20 (and strictly against the teams that were top-20 at that time)

hltv.org/stats/players/matches/7938/xant.. when you filter by top-20 sure but ET has never reached top-20. and you can see that it only shows the matches against the teams that were top-20.

I was expecting m0nesy to be like 4th-5th this year tbh but after comparing him to sh1ro, I found out that they have a 0.01 rating difference while m0nesy has extremely much higher openin kill rating + much better rating against top-5 + 3 evps while sh1ro has won nothing with like 1-2 evps and pretty much worse stats.

Not playing in the finals is not his fault, making it to the playoffs and playing 3 semis is more than enough "playing groups" yeah, they got knocked out once but ok hltv.org/stats/players/events/7998/s1mpl.. hltv.org/stats/players/openingkills?star.. then we click on openin kill rating and see that s1mple is the best opener of the year then we click on pistol rating and see that stavn has 0,9 kd rating yeah, easy decision, really.

1. devices position is debatable surely, but I don't wanna talk about him as of now, his profile is too loose and dispersive so far. 2. huNter- is too inconsistent this year. Yes he does have high peaks at elite events, but I doubt they gonna guarantee him a top 10 spot, unless he continues like this in recent months. 3. SunPayus has much weaker sample size in comparison to any other player in my top 8, both in terms of maps and events played while stat-wise his far from being at device and frozen level. The biggest issue with him is his Major performance which, in fact, is a thing worse than not being attending at all. The only thing he actually stands out at is his peaks at Cologne, Dallas and Gamers8 which make him a strong top 10 contender.

He has a good pistol rating hltv.org/stats/players/pistols?startDate.. 2023-09-06 03:34

What can I say about this? I definitely can say that your filters mislead you. #148 is the only one there is (as of notable events). 1. Open kills. hltv.org/stats/players/openingkills?even.. 2. Pistol rating is barely a decisive factor. 3. His top 5 rating is not the only thing there is as well. It's good (1.13 across 31 maps), but nothing special. Moreover this is a cherry picking at its finest. You simply don't consider all of the flaws SunPayus has, especially the ones that I mentioned earlier. 4. Frozen has EVP at EPL 17 as well and 12 maps (not 9) vs top 5. Not much better, but still. You provide with misinformation.
2023-09-06 04:09
11 replies
You know who's stats are actually missleading? Yours. After adding all those irrelevant quals and blast groups, SunPayus ended up having less maps than dev1ce HAHA when in reality he has like x2 more t1 maps than him What actually matters the most is how you performed at actual events and especially in the playoffs. And when you cut all those irrelevant qualifications you get this hltv.org/stats/players/openingkills?star.. where dev1ce isnt even listed because of lack of maps. while SunPayus is 4th cauz he actually attended t1 events and in the playoffs.
2023-09-06 04:25

HLTV consider open kill rating only across the notable event maps filter. Big event rating stands by itself, it doesn't affect by any other filters except for elite event rating. You simply don't know how these rankings are made. This is the fact that is backed up by you saying "irrelevant quals". They are relevant and will be counted toward the finals list of note worthy events. As of play offs. Device has something around 1.30 big match rating across (don't remember exactly) 15-20 maps. SunPayus was a poor playoff player up until Cologne.
2023-09-06 04:32
1 reply
XD Well well, a filter that shows more maps for dev1ce than SunPayus is clearly not the best tbh The one who has missed ove 50% of t1 CS VS someone who has a streak of 3 S-tier finals. Interesting comparison. As I've already said millions of times, dev1ce and especially frozen are not even remotely close to touch the same spot as SunPayus because they have little to none play offs appearances. Most of dev1ce's stats are farmed at quals and groups
2023-09-06 04:42
Pistol rating is always listed and also has some value so its nothnig to be ignored. But it doesnt really matter since SunPayus clears by any other criteria anyway. And I dont provide any missinformation, I provide the stats from big events. He has 9 maps at big events, 12 overall. I dont care what frozen has, he has attended 2 playoffs this year while SunPayus has played in 3 finals, won one, has an MVP + 2 evps one of the highest ratings this year. You are truly clueless in this topic, rating t2 players and judging by their stats. I bet you had blameF as your 5th last year, meanwhile people like me easily predicted him not making it to top-10 lol

Pistol rating is included, but it's barely a decisive factor. Read carefully. #163 "HLTV consider open kill rating only across the notable event maps filter. Big event rating stands by itself, it doesn't affect by any other filters except for elite event rating." > you are clueless in this topic > keeps providing with cerry-picked stats, thinking big events are the only things that matters, etc. No I hadn't BlameF at top 5. It's either your reading comprehension is lacking or you are simply biased. I never said that "pure stats" are only thing that matters.

This is a cherry-picking. There are tons of factors, but you chose to bring only those that speaks of a player the best. "With almost 0 playoffs". Device had 2 playoffs that both ended up with 2 strong EVPs, one of them is from elite event.

Thank you, thats why I have m0nesy as my 3d despite him not having any MVP Now, what motivated you to put sh1ro over m0nesy? you're saying he has one of the most valuable EVPS this year while his stats are insane, what's the secret? m0nesy is like 4th highest rated this year with slightly worse overall rating, much higher impact rating, much higher opening kill rating + literally the most valuable EVP after the major one.

sh1ro is the most all-rounded player this year (behind ZywOo ofc). He doesn't have a single flaw. 3 decent EVPs, 1.20+ stats almost everywhere with a decent sample. All things considered he is just too good for m0nesy and too weak for NiKo rn.

A single flaw? Hm, let me think. Low impact rating? Barely 1kd opening kill rating? hltv.org/stats/players/16920/sh1ro?start.. hltv.org/stats/players/19230/m0nesy?star.. Please dont get me wrong but... m0nesy has almost identical 2.0 rating with much higher impact and opening kill rating. M0nesy has one of the most valuable EVPS + Blast MVP as well Oh yeah, I forgot one tiny thing. sh1ro has missed the BLAST major and has much less t1 maps (less active) than m0nesy this year. But yeah, not a single flaw. KEep living in a delusion though.

Wrong link" I provided you with a link that will be the one HLTV will base their ratings, KPR, ADR, etc. things on. Here is the 2022 notable events filter. hltv.org/stats/players?startDate=2022-01.. 100% match with every single player. Notice that all of these "irrelevant quals" are there. My filter is not bias, but an official (by hltv) thing. Impact and open kill rating are related things. One partially is consisted of the other. You act like these are two different arguments instead of one. Btw his impact is not that big of a deal unlike missed major.

Nice filter, add cs_summit and DH Open Summer next time, okay? Again. M0nesy's elite-tier / playoffs is literally identical but with much more maps impact is affected by openings but thats not the only criteria, thats why they are separated and m0nesy's opening rating is .15 higher while the impact rating is 0.05 or something like that
2023-09-06 05:22
a quote from 2022 "Another important factor in his top-ten finish on the list is that he maintained potent-level displays when playing at both the biggest tournaments of the year and against the toughest opposition. m0NESY averaged a stellar 1.17 rating across the four Elite Events he participated in while also going on to showcase a superlative 1.22 rating across 35 maps against top-five opposition. What's more, m0NESY was one of the most impactful players in the world in a number of categories. He boasted a 64.3% opening kill success rate, the highest in the world when compared to those with above-average attempts, the seventh-best K-D ratio (+572), and proved to be a hard foe to go up against with the eighth-lowest deaths per round (0.59). The reason m0NESY was unable to rank higher in the list was due in part to missing more individual accolades in comparison with the players above him and most of his higher-ranked peers outperforming him on an individual level. He also sported a 1.11 rating in Big Matches, which while not poor, was simply bested by those who placed higher."
2023-09-06 05:22
same is gonna happen to sh1ro his elite-tier rating might be the same or like 0.01 lower (yet much less maps) his extremely way less impact and lack of playoffs is gonna be the crucial factor here. and Monesy's Cologne EVP
2023-09-06 05:23

baiting? HLTV can belittle your S-tier rating simply because your playoffs rating or elite-tier sucks. While you are adding some low-tier trash cups that have zero to no value. just stop. you're not gonna prove anything by linking A-tier cups added to your filter.

My whole point was: There are 4 different chief filters that are valued about the same. Notable events (the one I give) Big events (the one you give) Elite events Big matches Only one of them is being imposed with other, less valuable filters like OpK rating, top5/10/20 rating, etc. It's the first one. That's not a thing that I made up for whatever reason, it's HLTV. Don't like that they consider all these mickey mouse events? Tell them, not me. Well, I'm gonna go sleep. Have a nice night.

Simply putting them in that top-10 list is disrespectful in general

Well, this is a top of individual players, not team achievements. I believe that device and BlameF are individually stronger and consistent than Spinx.

If Spinx will finish above S1 it will be groundbreaking Also Nertz will end up top 20 for sure FlameZ will probably not but might be top 20

Pretty sure he will. Saying that as s1mples biggest fan. Major EVP is really crucial, but s1 still has some other EVPs + better stats so he can still secure that 5th spot

not only that his rating against top 20 in LAN in 2023 is 1.16 and if he keeps going like that in EPL he might get MVP

2 playoffs this year, 1 evp. he is def not making it to top-10. you have candidates with similar stats but x10 more t1 maps and playoffs played this year + multiple evps (including major evps) and MVPS he didnt even attend major, no chance.
