Tbh, crunchyroll is the reason why many people think anime is for kids. They on purpose use kids words or skip some serious/toxic words that should be and obv are there if someone knows a little of japanese. Crunchyroll is making anime translations for valorant players that are so soft they can’t even take simple “shut up“ lmao.

Use 9anime or aniwatch. You can get all subs and dubs for free and there is no difference to crunchyroll if you have adblock

nyaa is the shit , I use it + plex . I know some set up sonarr/dexter/etc but that's just gimmicky Streaming is nice, but crunch doesn't have all the shows and the quality is somehow worse than BD encodes

Nothing, I love nyaa and I use it Plex is a nice front-end for home streaming Some people set up services like sonarr/radarr/jackett/.. to automatically download and index shows, but it takes too long to set up imo and the result is not worth it

The selection is actually not as good as FUNimation and it's mostly run by shounen or rom-coms with the odd ecchi/harem present, plus the anime that it does have usually has OVA's/ONA's missing. WCOAnime (disable adblock), 9anime (you NEED an adblock) or zoro.to are completely free and have pretty much any anime you want. It's good to subscribe to if you're new to anime for a month or two but given how small the selection is, people mostly use it for the simulcasts and great subtitles.

It's a horrible site were you can't even change such a simple thing as the size/position of the subtitle bars, so some series(Im only watching Attack on titan though but were you will have the subs literally in the middle of the screen with way to big letters).
