Aleksib masterclass yesterday

A bit late to the party, but what a great game against FaZe by one of the best IGLs. NaVi can surely be a contender if s1mple comes slightly back to form. With the experience of Aleksib, we can already see b1t, iM coming back to form. Let's go biskelA

He was well supported by the awper from the other team

Maybe because he was holding them back? Watch some interviews. Pretty much every1 who played with him says he was holding back an AWPer and had different plan for him. s1mple has huge EGO, alot of experience and he will not let Aleksi hold him back. Even he said it.

Tbf Aleksi had 3 rookie awpers in a row in Mantuu, m0nesy & headtr1ck so it's understandable you micromanage them more since they won't get away with the same stuff they did in lower tiers.

Agree but m0nesy proved to be toptier, even when he was playing with aleksi. What I meant is - IMO aleksi is terrible at developing talent or using ur teams great sides for your advantage. Its literally first time when he's playing with strong leader like blade, he wont let aleksi take 100% control and this is the reason why NaVi might be really good. Im 100% sure that if aleksi would have 100% control, Navi would lose to Faze. I am not saying that he's trash, I am saying that he needs strong individuals to keep him in line

I kinda agree with this after watching ENCE’s documentary about their Katowice 2019 run. Imo a lot of their success came from allu, as you said, keeping aleksi in line

youtu.be/tb5nwDkSKmQ?si=XYQiqHEPhRYWTIfF Judging by their team talks, aleksi was the in-game leader, but allu was the leader outside of the game. Aleksi wasnt the only one making all the decisions, allu kept him in line

So much that they kicked him and imploded shortly after. Great call

yes, i know the BTS videos, as like normal finn i watch them every friday with beer and cry myself to sleep. well obviously they looked up to allu outside of the server, as he had previous experience how all that shit works. other than that i would not give any more credit. really don't want to remind that allu tried IGLing after they booted Biskela. they even literally used the same tac book that they used with aleksi, with horrendous results. and yes, sunny used the same book as well.
2023-09-18 12:35
Idk if you could say he is terrible at it, I think ENCE and OG both overperformed considering the players on those rosters. It says a lot that from the ENCE roster no one except Allu played on a high level before Aleksi and after his kick none of them played on a high level and in OG no one but FlameZ (who was only in OG with Aleksi for a few months) is still playing in tier 1. In NIP I don't know if anyone could get anything out of that team, but every single player played better (statistically) under Aleksi than they've done now under Hampus.

Ence overperformed because they were underdogs first and then they embraced aug/ssg meta first without any change on the lineup, without that exploit they would have been back to top 20 after the major.

Yeah the SSG/AUG meta really helped ENCE because it made the gap between great players and worse players much smaller (basically reduced the skill ceiling a lot) so they could be competitive even without really having good players. However I think the main power of ENCE was their great teamplay which also shows from not having really great players statistically even in deep runs. For example in Katowice major they got to the final by having only one player in top 37 rated players of the event (xseven was 25th highest rated player). I would say the 2019 ENCE was really similar to current Heroic in that sense.

I think holding them back a bit is possible also to have assisted them getting into better forms for tier 1. What if Aleksi let Monesy do whatever and waste his chance at tier 1 being beaten up because he is trying to be the flash? Sure a generational talent could do that, which Monesy looks likely to be, but in general its smarter to hold back new talent a bit and then let them loose later, which Aleksi didnt get to witness because he was always moved out of team too soon.

at their first event together s1mple said that aleksi has different plan for him and he doesnt agree with it. so yeah, s1mple and blade probably told him "you have no control over s1mple" and he had to stfu

Where did he say that because I haven't heard that, I just remember Aleksi saying that the micromanaging thing is overblown and he doesn't/didn't micromanage players like NiKo, Hunter or s1mple because he knows those players know what they are doing and you gotta let them do what they want (to some extent ofc).

I like how you imagine pro team discussions. So unrealistic but so funny. Aleksib in a corner. Blade and simple saying "why so serious? Why so serious?" Then they tell him he's 70iq, tell him to shut the fuck up
2023-09-18 12:01
They said nothing of the like. S1mple said that aleksi understands the game well, but sometimes he says "I wanna do this", and he's allowed to do it if he wants to make a solo play. Rest of the time he plays as the plan says. This is just stupid attention seeking

Yes I think he was always very good He was never a problem or issue in any lineup, when they replaced him with sunny I felt with aleksib alot. Imagine being the actual reason they went far !- then remove him for a semi crackhead with marginally better mechanics but not really . Sunny is maybe better in 1v1 aim map straight duel But aleksib will somehow manage to have more impact

NaVi wants to win trophies. Thats what the team was build for. So yes. He is supposed to win against a Team that is struggling heavily rn, which Faze very much does. Would he have beaten Vitality or Ence that way, that would have been impressive tho

My point was that even when faze is in poor form, it's still hard to win 7 in a row, so yes that was good performance from aleksi

You still fail to understand that NaVi is supposed to win these games. Thats the whole reason they went international; To be the best team in the world. If they cant perform against current Faze that is worrying. Also "good" and "masterclass" have entirely different meanings.

Every team wants to win games, what is thjs argument? Do you think someone like OG built their roster to lose more?

pretty sure OG knows they aint contesting for titles. Win games yes, but seriously thinking they can win smth is different. By that logic a 186th ranked team would have to be held to the same standards as the number one team in the world. NaVi could have stayed CIS/Ukrainian; picked up more players like NPL and be a top 30 team. But they didnt; they went international because only Ukrainian players wouldn't been enough to fulfil their drive to win trophies. OG just brought players together to have a roster and maybe have a stand-out player they can sell later, or develop the roster around him. Way different to NaVi, who bought an upcoming fragger in iM, a great supportive element in jL and an IGL who had been in top teams before in Aleksi.

I don't think anyone is expecting new NaVi to win big events straight away (after such a massive roster shakeup). So imo beating faze 2-0 isn't something to be taken for granted.

Not for granted no, but needed for the team to reach their goal. Especially since Faze atm is super inconsistent and weird. I just dont like that NaVi doing well apparently means that Aleksi is now some god tier IGL, just because he achieves what he is supposed to. It was a good called game from him sure, but masterclass? Idk man
2023-09-18 14:13
Nobody talked about nip nor Germany, you brought them up because you have no arguments anymore. L

Amazing performance from everyone including B1ad3 but the real challenges are awaiting. Teams like Vitality, Heroic and G2 will be tougher opponents. Anyways nice to see them being solid as a team.
