Joel iscussion

Please try to keep the topic civil. I will be going over my thoughts on the Joel case. ESIC reported that his behavior was during "BetBoom Playlist Urbanistic" between March 27th and May 1st, here are the matches in that time. imgur.com/a/VNopmxM I don't see any way in which that is true. They then say March 27th - March 28th which they lost? They didn't lose any matches in that time? imgur.com/a/HgLNRI0 They then say March 29th - May 1st, which is where it gets interesting. imgur.com/a/uIZiXqQ I think potentially he fixed, but it is not conclusive for me. Players have slumps, off days, etc. Godsent themselves say they have information and same with ESIC, I would like to see what information they have before making any conclusions. I think just based off match history for me is not conclusive, yet again I did not watch the games. Any thoughts on this? Thank you.

well they claim to have the evidence of him placing bets on his matches, so its pretty much over for him. but it would be really funny if the only time esic actually banned someone will be over false allegations

I mean given that smooya also has said he had talked privatly to him and that he was disapointed that he didnt change his behavior, I would call this pretty conclusive, when adding the ESIC stuff into it.

yeah for sure, but for me I want to see the evidence. I think smooya's comment drives home that perhaps it is true but I don't believe ESIC itself until I see anything conclusive. I'd honestly trust smooya being disappointed over them, and that's saying something.

Apparently they will relase their stuff on October 6th, but ESIC and holding their own dates is smth else.

yeah, hopefully some stuff comes out and brings more information to light on what happened, whether it's inconclusive and Joel is let off the hook or conclusive and unfortunately he ruined his career.

I mean there also is the Godsent removal without any reason that seemed fishy at the time, as the Org to this day to my knowledge has not spoken about why he was removed when he was their highest rated player by far. Its just too much weird stuff around him for him to not be guilty in some regard imo.

They actually have replied to why they removed him, it's in the article. > GODSENT have released their own statement in the wake of this news, confirming that his removal from the squad in May was in relation to these allegations. "Joel's suspension from GODSENT followed us being informed of serious allegations relating to match-fixing and betting in between March 27 and May 1, on our own and other matches, coming from relevant parties in the industry," the statement read. "As soon as we retrieved the information we immediately suspended Joel from play. Then we have been closely collaborating with ESIC in helping them build a case and collecting evidence in collaboration with third parties."

Oh shit; I actually never saw that. That does not make it better for him in any way.

Nope not at all, from how it's phrased it seems like the information was from third parties and not ESIC itself since they mentioned working with ESIC building the case after they received the information. Third parties can not always be trusted, like in the case with spooke. However, I'd trust third parties way more than ESIC itself especially if ESIC and Godsent both thought it was severe enough to suspend him and build a case.

if so most likely it's evidence like IP and such which they keep track of. Would be nearly impossible to escape/deny. unfortunate.

Is he 2iq? everybody knows that if you want to do that, it needs to be someone else, not family. lol

I just wanna know the punishment. the ibp situation made me upset. Joel is 18, and has so much potential. "He doesnt deserve.. for rekt" -Pasha Every map thrown should be a 6month ban. Unless under18 where it should be 3month per match. but thats just my opinion.

Just looked again; they didnt say anything yet about the ban lengh, but apparently October 6th we should know more. But we all know ESIC and times :D

sorry but if someone most likely cheated, fixed uncountable amount of matches (not only now but in the past as well) and scammed thousands of dollars in skins he doesn't deserve another chance

+1 6 months of no salary hurts pretty bad and also your reputation is severely damaged after that + you need to find a new team with that reputation, but I also think that if the match fixing has gone on for longer than 1/3 year maybe it should be a perma ban. also if you get banned for fixing once for 6 months and then get caught fixing again you should be perma'd.

it's sad that he threw his career away, but he definitely deserves to get a pernament ban. Temporary bans won't solve the issue of fixing

According to some of his teammates he also cheated in matches where he had put money on them to win. No evidence but they highly suspect it due to weird things he did in game.

I haven't been able to catch any Joel matches since I am in NA unfortunately. All I see are his stats, which are incredible. I have heard some cheating allegations, however until there is a ban or conclusive evidence I will never believe any player is cheating. There have been many cases of players "cheating" where they are just very skilled, such as ropz and JW (at the beginning of CSGO).

once a scammer, always a scammer jk, but he seems to be in need of serious help, hope he can resolve his issues, also i hope he does not return to pro play in cs. given such a huge opportunity it seems so foolish to throw it away, esp. with the talent he has

funny how they instantly jump on some tier 3 semi-pro but when NA matchfixers switch game and suddenly play for a big org they are real quiet
