would you say this event is worth traveling to?
after a quick surface level search, coming from Budapest to watch would cost probably around $400. I know thats a lot to watch teams of this caliber, but I really wanna go watch a LAN.

The only thing we can do is support those guys though. For me its not watching tier 1 CS but just celebrating the best we have right now and see tense matches. They need support and prizemoney to grow the scene over here. At least best teams in cz/sk plays fulltime now unlike before 2020. And they moved MČR finals in a way bigger hall this year, because the old one was packed. Also MČR production seems better than some tier 1 tournaments and being on LAN has nice atmosphere. Give us 19 000 capacity O2 arena and decent team playing here and we are loud af

There was about 1 000 people last year. The hall used for MČR 2022 was full, third of the people there didnt even have their own seat. This year much bigger hall P will be used, the biggest hall from the whole complex, potentially having about 11 000 seats. So I quess thousands. In my country the fan base is pretty good, 10 million country, thousands of people going to watch local tournament with tier 3 teams only. Our CS fanbase is the biggest from esports

MČR overally better but the crowd in Y-GAMES is nice and you will definetly see a good content and matches, also there is no reason to go to bratislava for more then 1 day to sightseeing so if you combine it with this it will be a pleasurable experience.

yea I mean Slovaks get triggered pretty easily if Hungarians mention that their land was stolen etc and I assumed Czechs are on Slovaks side in this "argument" :D

If I may ask, what exactly does $300 cost you?
Because if you go from Budapest to Slovakia, you can travel by train Budapest-Kosice for 25 euros, and you can get from Kosice to Nitra for 10-15 euros. Or the Budapest-Bratislava route and a similar route

It's just 8€ and it's a part of bigger event with carsalon and some other stuff. If you have time it surely can be nice experience.

Honestly i would go, but then again there are many LANS in europe you can go to. If a LAN was to be played here in canada of any kind, i would go to it. At least over at MSR you have 4 teams that constantly play official games on HLTV and are actual pro teams.
Rivalry is planning a cs2 LAN in toronto, and i bet if that were to be true the best teams there won't be COL or EG, probabky not even M80 or Nouns. If it is truly happening i might go anyway, i love going to any LAN, just because we have so few, even if it seems to me like it'll be a tier 4 NA tournament.

it sucks that all of the good events are in November. I am here until a few days before the end of November and am already staying as long as I can without a visa. Id love to go to the Elisa Masters Espoo, but Ill be gone by then. Blast Fall Finals and ESL Challenger/Dreamhack Winter would be cool, but thatd be right before I leave and honestly not fun travelwise.
If you like cars , its worth to visit ... otherwise , i dont think the watch experience will be good because there will be like NO OTHER PEOPLE WATCHING at all. And i mean it , this placing of the event is so unfortunate that i bet almost no one will come .... and it commes from me , the guy that visits almost every lan event possible.

I dont car abt cars honestly, but if not this event, then which? I haven't gone to a LAN in 2 years now and would love to go to another, but NA gets 2 events MAX/year now :/
Adding to #46, I dont think FireLeague will have any spectators, and I honestly dont care or any of the attending teams anyway. Hussar Cup could be cool with BIG, but who knows if theyll have spectators. And honestly I doubt the Hussar Cup will even happen. Their PR is kinda a trainwreck rn.
but thats basically it as far as LANs go. Yeah, there are some regional events, but I can find little to no information for most of them (venue, if theyll have spectators, etc). so this event is right now undoubtedly the closest and cheapest, and therefore the best (unless V4 gets unexpectedly announced)

Thats the other event I was considering bc of its relative proximity. Its also nice that this event ends on Saturday instead of Sunday. The venue looks pretty quaint too. That is 2 months away, so dont wanna make that commitment yet, but I will definitely be keeping an eye on this event :D

The actual venue is fine. Viewing experience is fine and theres lots of cool stuff inside, kinda like a very small DreamHack event honestly. Unfortunately there is nobody actually watching the games compared to the billions of people outside looking at cars.
But these delays are absurd. Unity vs Enterprise ended at ~1:30, and Eclot vs Sinners didnt start until almost 5pm. I went home because wtf? As I expected, I understand absolutely nothing being said, which honestly would be fine as long as there was Counter-Strike to watch, but there hardly is.
Im not trying to bash the event in any way. If you love CSGO, cars, and/or food/beer, its perfect! Im just a dumbass who knowingly went to something where I KNEW I would understand nothing, so theres really nothing for me here when the games have been as delayed as they have been.

Although I think it could be fun and I always enjoy watching CS, Ive made a new rule for myself: no traveling alone to countries where I know NOTHING about the language or even language family. Idk why I expected Nitra to be English friendly, but I spoke English to I think just 4 people all weekend. In the end, I just felt like a jerk. Not being able to understand anything, and then not even being able to say sorry, or excuse me, or thank you. I felt rude for just being there and it is not a feeling Id like to replicate 😅

if you don't want to go by Train, just download Bla Bla car and hop in to someone, but I think that 1st class costs like 25€, +-5€
I mean, there isn't going to be any crowd or anything as its not even in capital city, last time I was there, there's literally nothing to do, not sure if this has changed
