Not worth my time to confirm but I suspect VP are playing percentages, which over more rounds makes them more competitive (or should do on average). For example (hypothesising), 70% of round wins are from first entry, so in theory you only need one gun to have a chance to win. Simplistic and basic idea of what I think they're doing. It's also why they seem very scripted and get fucked if someone aggresses on them and wins the fight as that messes up the game plan.

I doubt it would be random, so offering a possible explanation, but one would need to do a lot of data analysis to conclude it either way. In any case I recall Jame saying they play %, but it just hasn't been seen so oddly.

It really was something extremely unusual, something you might say would be seen in matchmaking. For example: their economy was wiped out on their CT side (everyone reset to 1500 - 2500 bucks I think). Usually a force buy + eco would come (if they win the force buy they would be back, if not they would have a full buy after the eco). But no, they went for an eco and then a half buy that somehow worked, holding on to the A site with some...dubious weaponry. Well...they won the map in the end. Let's see what the Lord of Time will come up with next.

actually vp is not scripted at all. they play based on individual decision making. confirmed by people who played with them.

Yeah, having a player or two on pistols instead of AK is often times fine with full utility and it can make a difference between not having to eco as they didn't need to much on the T side
