well chrisj was pretty washed already tbh but he always managed to have that one sick highlight per year that made top 5 plays of the year lol. And ofc going out and tweeting some rather questionable things about covid and vaccines on twitter didnt really help his case...

agreed on that, i watched him awp mirage vs liquid on live it was pretty remarkable.. Since 2020 i stopped following cs and any other games cuz stupid covid

I wonder how washed he was really. His mouz lineups ALWAYS kept around top 10. When he was cut the final time, mouz has still not been the same -always in contention dangerous team- as when chrisj was on the lineup during all those years.

Cruc1al and FASHR are still playing, and there were some in the much lower tier in LowLandLions, Genk, Asterion and some others if i remember correctly. But other than that the Dtuch scene is kinda bleak.

Arjen Robben had 2 really good chances to decide that final. Both from a breakaway situation if I recall correctly but failed both times. And then the red card from one of the Dutch players at the end of regulation. One of the biggest "what ifs" in sports history.

Because really, unless counter-strike is somewhat popular in the youth culture of a country, it is going to have much less chance of having a scene in high income countries. Every highschool kid in Denmark and Sweden has at least tried CSGO once, that's why their talent pool is so deep. If CS is not that popular with the kids on Nederland, it's over, the reason why CS isnt popular in Kazak and yet there are enough semi-decent Kazak players to make 1 tier 2 team is because you can get away with having less of a scene in a low income country because people can live off of 600 Euros per month, therefore, the people who dedicate to it are going to be very serious about it, in Nederland in order to live semi semi "ok" , you'd need at least 2500 Euros per month, that basically kills off any chance of a sharp tier 2 scene in a country where CS is not popular.

This here is the only truth. Cost of living too high to squabble around in tier 5 hoping to make a breakthrough. So what you get is some local events with the same faces but in different mix team formations, who will all quit again whenever this league they're participating in ends. A few years ago there was still somewhat of a scene, but now it's completely gone as everyone at the top has slowly quit gaming. So there is no top dog circle for young up&comers to look up to anymore.

ChrisJ, Cruc1al, FASHR, D0cC are only noteworthy players. CS:GO doesnt live that much in our country I guess. I rarely meet other dutch people and when I do they tend to be toxic AF. Looking at friends they prefer to play games like CoD, Battlefield and Fifa.
