Cloud9 has to be the one of the unluckiest (aka most mismanaged) orgs ever
Be a decent NA team for years
Change core to EU (STYKO, Golden, flusha, kio, ...)
Lose the major spot because the EU core breaks
Get a new NA roster with TenZ, sell the core to Gen.G because it underperforms, release the other players
Buy ATK which is as good as any other NA mix with fl0m in it
Start the colossus project, spend a shit ton of money, woxic leaves, the whole roster breaks even further
Leave CS
Come back with Gambit which have been top1-2 in the online era
Players don't find nearly as much success as they have in Gambit
Somehow fail to qualify to the major
Buy electronic and perfecto to make a superteam on paper for more shit ton of money, still suck
just unlucko not really mismanagement, at least in recent times

6 months before they clicked they were terrible, showing good signs but being easy to counter.
Only reason they did better was because they had inhuman level from Niko and a highlight reel of monesy clutching things he shouldn't at a rate no one does.
Vitality struggled for a year to make a system that works, even arrival of Spinx was bumpy.
They didn't start doing good from the get go.

spinx slid into the team that already had spent a year making a system.
G2 has superstars that cannot be stopped which is unreasonable to expect, ax1le and sh1ro never worked outside of that one system, electronic is shifting his role quite a bit.
While I am hyped for that team, one has to be dumb to have high expectations from the get go. It will take them at least 6 months if not a year to get that plane up and running.
They should have bought Chaos
