Yeah, but B1ad3 also made him look better because of the system he enforced in the team. Sure, Boombl4 wasn’t bad and certainly was better than electronic is.

yeah, but every IGL would probably be boosted by B1ad3, the way he structures his systems are very in detail and work around every players strengths. Seeing that his English is quite good, I would love to see what he can do with a team like FaZe who seem to need that bit of coaching edge to take them to a real contender again.

That would be an interesting thing to see, but karrigan (and other FaZe players) have said that they mostly need their coach to be the guy who increases team morale and vibes. Karrigan is responsible for the tactical side. NEO (prev. Robban) is there to keep the morale up, joke around, while giving a smaller input on the actual tactics, compared to someone like B1ad3.

yeah I know they say that, but with respect to their legacy and experience, even they might not know they need a coach that can help their strategic side. It's like "you don't know what you miss until you had it once" or smth in that line. Would be an interesting experiment either way.

Boombl4 wasn't an IGL, Zeus made him one and then B1ad3 carried on with it. There are old vlogs where Zeus says he wants boombl4 to learn from him so he can take his place.

So he was an IGL... by choice or not, he was one. And again, sure he got boosted by B1ad3, but I feel like he is way more an IGL than electronic for example.

Sort of... his style of play was to constantly play around s1mple, who at the time peaked beyond perfection, so the plan rarely ever failed unless s1mple didn't perform. His mid-round calling was decent but all of the tactics came from Blad3. EDIT: General corrections.

Agreed, it's always interesting to see the duality between a coach and igl. The mid-rounds aren't always planned and seemed decent back then so that's probably where Boombl4 deserved some credit. But Blad3 was certainly a big part of NaVi being that good.

boom's biggest upside was his individual playstyle. he was aggressive, the way he just opened up rounds with smg's, got numerous entries when the situations started to look grim. I don't think he was above average IGL tho, he just fitted in really good. Got to remember that at the time he was there, they had s1mple still at his peak & electronic who's probably an top5 all time rifler.

nah you're probably right, he wasnt a top tier igl but not a "bad" one like electronic either. He seemed to at least have a bit of calling impact. Having s1mple and elec in top form is just a luxury unheard of haha, almost a cheat code.

-it is just one game for a relatively new team -eternal fire won on overpass only because EVERY SINGLE ROUND they did boosts, which was unexpected by C9 (remember the boost caught perfecto in last round) - they just don't expect a single boost to be used almost every buy round -all of you screaming over one game are just shameless people

they lost 2-0 to EF They lost to liquid They lost to complexity They lost 6-16 to BNE Since the new rooster they have played ALOT of games, and they barely even avg a 50% winrate, even tho they faced plenty of tier 2/3 teams in lower tournaments.

Ofcourse they're gonna lose? Dude get your 15 year old testosterone levels out of here. Its 17 matches for 2 months and about 29 days, so basicly 3 months. Just because they change their rooster to 2 new players doesnt mean they can lose to tier 2/3 teams. Just look at the players, they didnt start to play yesterday.

Better tactics: boys, lets stack outside A/B without any map control and just push it/ slowly push it. Did you even watch the match? Alongside with the constant boost pure 2014 strats. D: The solely reason they won on overpass was the boostmeister technique and Perfecto being totally headless in last round

imo a tactic is better when it works over something that doesnt work. EF could've tried all they wanted with "2023-strats" or strats that fit in todays meta, but that would result in them losing. The better tactic here for them was to use a bit of old-fashioned tricks, and that includes boosting on the mother of all boost maps. So the fact remains: EF had better tactics over C9 because it worked and the ones from C9 didn't.

On the contrary, EF couldn't have tried the 2023 strats, because they can't meet the results they want from them, as shown by their previous results. It is fact in your head - it was stupid mistakes from C9 individuals (Perfecto) that led this outdated strat to work.

doesn t matter, could have got some good cis kid who wanted to learn and teach him like they did with boombl.He wasn t some mastermind either and they still had a semi era with him.Anything would have been better than kicking half the team (and 2 of the best players out there) just to make a random international team.A team who has players like s1mple, perfecto, electronic and b1t doesn t need gla1ve type of igl to win.They had the perfect pieces on every role, amazing firepower + experience.

Good cis kid? Boombla proved his worth on several lans, being both an individual player and then an IGL, which is why they've picked him. Name me any other "good cis kid" that is not from russia who did the same or almost the same as did boombla. Rhetorical question. There's none. Plus, players like elec, perfecto and s1mple woudn't respect a "good cis kid" as an IGL who didn't prove himself on somewhat decent lans.

jerry probably, or chopper but both are russian and in russian orgs so those two were excluded from the start already. Don't know who else to get honestly. Internationally I think Gla1ve was not a bad thing to at least try. We might never know :)

I feel like his contract should end summer 2024 (astralis.gg/post/astralis-extends-with-i..) I'm sure Astralis would rather sell him quick than having him on the bench for another year. It's not like Astralis has a lot of cash to splash so every influx of money is very beneficial. But yeah esports contracts include high buyouts so its quite possible.
