yea he is former rifler but he played as secondary awper since beginning. in 2013 - almost10% kills with awp(olof 10.7%), in 2014 15.5%(olof 17.7%) and 2015 20%(olof 12.7%) so they were always kinda close with % of awp/rifle kills and then device took over full awp role but still had "only" around 40% kills with awp

s1mple was already contending for goat in 2018. at that point he had only one s-tier trophy and two major finals played.
the ranking is looking at individual form in the context of team accomplishments.
its widely accepted that rating naturally increases if your team is winning more. therefore, its way more impressive to maintain insane individual form when your team is not winning much (with considerations to players with lower impact styles like baitf)

5-6 years ? His peak years were 2016/2017, and he was okay in 2018. That's 3 years. After that he was a 1 milion $ flop for faze and failed igl in br scene.

He was okay in Faze tbh just the online killed him he was still the 2nd best player on the team when Niko was IGL.
But Niko clears him every year except 2016 and 2017 is even.
2015 till 2020 he was GREAT or solid.
The thing is, cold put a 1.16 rating with NiKo, he wasn't even top 20 and niko was like top 3-5.

I think this is not even close to an absurd take. But in the end "greatest" is too broad of a term, so while you can use some numbers here and there, it's still very subjective.

End of 2014-early 2016 the best player in the world.
Reinvented himself in 2017. Dropped off in 2018 at that point he became overrated and should have been cut q2 2019 only really showed up for Berlin after that he was a washed paycheck stealer.
Magisk, shox and Snax should be in the honorable mentions ahead of Twistszz, EliGE and rain
and if we're talking strickly csgo i think Snax and Magisk have been better than f0rest and shox is at the same level

Twistzz' peak is not nearly as good as any of those 3 i mentioned's peak
EliGE's peak in 2019 is probably better than Magisk's, but he lacks overrall achievements
its a pretty good list, "great" does not necessarily mean stats only or accolades only. It's a combined feature like the setting/era someone is playing in, how they compared to others at the time, what they did to the overall scope of the game etc.
You have much to learn still.

And that is what i mean, yes off course the word has a meaning: of ability, quality, or eminence.
Which is interpretable infinitely many ways, and therefore the word itself is up to personal interpretation. So when i say discrete meaning i'm loaning that word from mathematics. It's not discrete in a way where you can say it's either or. It's up to personal opinion.
You can absolute say whatever you want like when people were playing, what the state of the game was etc. That's completely within the definition of the word since it can't specify anything discretely.

He was past his prime quickly and never had the Major MVP but there are many, many users that place GTR in the Top 5 players of all-time because of what he managed to accomplish. and claiming that he doesn't "deserve" that because of very biased and silly points is ludicrous, in my opinion.

What's the list based on? If its prestige and achievements what's Niko doing there, if its skill and cultural impact what's dupreeh doing there, if it's based on consistency why is GeT_RighT there. The list is all over the place thats why it sucks, feels like something an angsty teen would spew out in 2014 on a whim rather than an actual take. All of these names are legends but they don't belong together on the same list.

+1 for tier 1 but not major, Kato or Cologne

Also we're talking about greatest riflers overall, not about achievements, and longevity also matters. Peaking two years and being irrelevant or mid after that doesn't grant you a spot on that list. These dudes on my list were insane for many years with a rifle.
