"Best" lan team losing to this Astralis, Big, Monte and Gamerlegion. Sure the best lan team with only one banana cup with only partner teams

You call a team that has won 1 LAN Blast trophy the best LAN team of 2023, while there's Vitality that has won 3 including major and G2 which won 2 of the biggest cs events. Not a rocket science is it

Vitality? the worst t1 team in half of the big tournaments this year, yeah right boi

Still did better than Heroic. 2 titles including major > 1

And that doesnt change the fact that heroic was the best lan team for a good part of the year
2023-09-26 20:46

They won 1 event this year. To be the best you actually need to win trophies, in which Heroic clearly failed in comparison to likes of G2 and Vitality
2023-09-26 22:24

yeah and to be the best you actually have to do more than just being best in two tournaments throughout a whole year

G2 also where one of the worst t1 teams through out just about every tournaments except the ones they won, so yeah, its not rocket science is it?

Imagine calling a team that won both Cologne and Katowice "one of the worst t1 teams". Heroic was bad this year except one Blast tournament pal

We talk about being the best. Being best=winning events. G2 won 2 most iconic cs events, Heroic won 1 Blast. Losing in a final isn't an achievement
2023-09-26 22:23

We talked about this. 2 weeks as a real top 1 doesnt make you the best all year. consistency in finals and semis does tho
2023-09-27 01:03
8 replies
Best team of the year is determined by the number of events won. That's the actual goal of tier 1 teams, to win events. Reaching a semi-final is not good enough and cannot be used in argument of being the best team
2023-09-27 17:49
7 replies
Then you dont know how it works
2023-09-27 20:03
6 replies
I know exactly how it works. The aim of every tier 1 team is to win trophies, not to "reach" semis or lose a final.
2023-09-27 20:58
5 replies
And that was not the arguement, so you clearly still dont know
2023-09-27 21:04
4 replies
The argument is what team is the best LAN team this year if you forgot. There are teams that won 3 or 2 trophies, including a major but somehow you keep mentioning team whose biggest achievement is Blast Premier Spring trophy and a team that keeps failing in every relevant tournament 💀

osee is their best player, you want to blame anyone you have to blame liquid management for letting yeki igl and signing patsi to play the exact roles yeki wants to play. -patsi + any igl and move yeki to entry frag. Rainwaker has been solid and i would like to see him pan out, plus i like naf not having to play anchor in place of nitr0's former roles, he is too good to be playing anchor and I think rainwaker does a good enough job, at the very least rain waker isnt the issue. It is overlapping of roles and one of the best entry frag in the world for the past year or so is trying to call a half american and half european line up. it will not work.

i mean i dont really understand what liquid was thinking, like as if adding two random t2 eu players would make them t1. they need different leadership and more talent other than NAF/yekindar c9 needs time and maybe an igl Heroic has been super consistent for years, I wouldn't read too much into anything, lets see how they do in upcoming events Astralis is just meh, consistent team but not amazing, not really sure what they could do or change, i think this is just what astralis is now 9INE is 9INE
2023-09-26 18:04
Heroic benefits from playing weak groups. C9 seems to have early chemistry problems, and Hobbit is a joke at this point. Liquid has Yeki IGLing and T2/3 players in oSee and Rainwaker. Astralis is not a Top 5 team, and they feature 2 inconsistent players in Buzz and Staehr. 9INE is one dimensional, and have yet to develop a map pool outside of Vertigo and Mirage; almost every T1 team has them figured out. Hades looks like he is done with the lineup.

all top 4-5 teams have easy groups, thats how seeding works Astralis had that in 2018 Heroic had it And now Vitality also

Difference between those three is that Astralis and Vitality showed up in the playoffs. Heroic is not a bad team but they haven't been a Top 5 team for a good portion of this year.

Top 4 over the full year, just behind Ence, Vitality, G2 bruh
2023-09-26 19:04
yet the major difference is that prime Astralis can show up in the playoffs and had nearly NO OPPOSITION. Same goes for Vitality this year. Heroic can't even showup in playoffs in 2023.

c9 was always going to be a weird team tbh, not surprised that they're off to a bad start 9ine has had lan troubles since the major, not sure what you expect liquid let go of the na goat for some cct warrior, obviously they were gonna become t2 lol heroic had and off tournament, they may be focused on cs2 now

Heroic = been trash since last two tourneys, lacks of plays and got countered, their aims aint prime anymore C9 = needs fix, perfecto & elec not it for the roster, terrible calls and lack of teamwork, and basically sh1ro bailed them out the first game Astralis = got hard countered by T2 teams that played a lot and they seems like freaking T3 in movement and calls wtf, even tho they got 3rd in group A, it seems like they just dont wanna win whatsoever 9ine = Online T2 teams, LAN chokers what do you expect? TL = weak mentality i guess, they got burnt out with the two series a day format and dominated by EF rampant playstyles
2023-09-26 18:13
C9 and liquid need more time... For the rest no real excuses just bad tournament by them
2023-09-26 18:24
Astralis with stahear complete shit
2023-09-26 18:26
EF is just better

They are practicing for CS2. Simple as that.

c9 is just ass cause they have a toxic ass background. electronic and sh1ro have a history of tilting and honestly i feel like it's just a russian trait.

Here's my opinion as a copium smoking astralis fan: i myself am disappointed by astralis' performance today, but i also think the hate they're getting is a little too much. EF is not a bad team, and upsets happen all the time. that being said, so many of the rounds astralis lost were because of very sloppy mistakes. statistically blamef was the only player on astralis to have a positive kd, but on some rounds him and staher were just painful to watch. i don't even remember what borup was doing for half the game. the only two players i think played well were device and buzz, though they may not have gotten the most kills, i think they had the most impact for their team. oh well, who knows. maybe the team can get their shit together in time for the next event. if stahear wins hltv player #1 i will personally write him an apology letter.

imo astralis' loss was kinda expected. since the debut of the new roster they overperformed a bit: advanced to blast fall finals, got top4 in cologne, advanced to pro league knockout stage. every tournament so far has been a success and the team clearly made a big progress but it's still a new team with 2 players who have 0 experience in t1. now the honeymoon is over and astralis need to keep working hard to overcome the weaknesses. the key is making staehr a legit player - he has crazy mechanics but can't show it on the server. if they manage to unlock him (just like they did with buzz who is surprisingly good now) they will make a big step towards being a title contender.
2023-09-27 17:58
Heroic had bad tournament, c9 should disband, liquid go back to NA pls, astralis getting carried by dev1ce and baitF, 9ine belong in t2
