go play cs at 60fps in a 60hz monitor, when 3 smokes and 2 molotov explodes in your bomb your game will be running at 15fps if you're lucky

I have a 120hz monitor, and my game runs slightly above that I never noticed any fps drops at any point since in the past 3 weeks I know it hurts, but just admit the game is much better optimized than GO

how does it look like tho ? do you notice any fps drops or stutters ? in GO it was all the time going from one zone to the other and loading the game/maps, in CS2 nothing

I guess it has something to do with loading, it’s always at the start of the game and it’s framedrops from 140 to 10-20 fps I can also only get 140 fps for some reason even tho I’m playing on all low and 1280x960 or whatever the exact resolution is

I noticed that. I dont feel the necessity of 300fps to play CS2 just like was in CSGO. 100~120fps runs pretty smooth here. About fps, the last patch fixed a lot of drops here.

If i remember correctly, this "fps needs to be at least double ur monitor hz" is more related to a problem in source engine where you game doesnt feel smooth at all if you have less than double ur monitor hz (you can even feel the lag in ur sensitivity) idk if this problem still exists on Source 2 because my potato pc runs at 40fps dropping to 15... maybe someone with a good pc can test

In every single game you need higher FPS to handle drops when things are exploding and there's a lot going on, this is even a bigger concern in a competitive game like CS, lagging in the wrong moment can make u lose a round

1080p 144hz 5600x / 16gb (b-die) ram 3070fe didnt change anysettings and i get around 250-400fps (depending on map etc.). very smooth indeed

my ryzen 5 3950x, 32gb ram and 3070ti maintain 220-240 on 4:3 @ 1440, mostly high settings. during major fps drops itll be around 120, still getting them occassionally during gunfights in smokes and waters
