2077 DLC worth?
 |
Latvia FieryBlood
To my surprise I've gotten hooked with 2.0. Not that the game is amazing now, but at least it works and makes it possible the enjoy the beautiful map while actually engaging with the systems. I still think the dialogues and quests are lacking in quality, but now I don't mind them as much since other content of the game is now competent. With that said, how does the DLC compare to base game? Just more of the same? How much content is there and is worth the price (half of the base game)?

pretty easy if you release a shite game. To get a really good update to a masterpiece is pretty rare

The game was amazing from the very start, you are just one of those sad clowns who reads reviews and pretends to know shit.

the game had good bones but it was not ready for release. and no this is not an opinion, this is a fact, it had missing features, it was full of bugs, it had trouble with textures, ai was half baked, and so on, hell driving was barely even acceptable until like 1.3 could you have a banger time with it, but don't you try to hide the state the game was on release.

I actually played it at release, while the game was beautiful, the storyline was decent the amount of bugs I personally experienced literally make it impossible for it to be an "amazing" game back then. Trees morphing through walls, textures missing, buggy NPCs etc
2023-09-29 16:59
it was the buggiest game I've ever played by a long margin and I've made semi complex games (for the platform) on fucking Scratch before. I'd be lucky at the first updates if my game didn't crash every five minutes. Thankfully Cyberpunk always had consistent autosave so no progress was ever lost. Story of course, is amazing, along with many of the side quests. Doesn't make the game amazing though when you cannot play it properly
2023-09-29 17:12
The game was good for a while but with the 2.0 is way way better. I bought the dlc but I still need to play it lol. I was trying all the 2.0 features on the city.

i would say the following, phantom liberty is actually super fun, its a spy thriller and actually adds a new ending to the game. the new area is easily accessible and they do a good job explaining why you just couldn't enter before but i kind of wish it was more integrated with the main map somehow. i have not finished it i'm taking it slow but so far its been a fun ride.

You got any recommendation when you should start it? Like when does it tie in the best, I heard you shouldn't beat the game before starting it.

If you start any campaign the event will happen automatically at a certain point and you it will start becoming available from there, aside from that you can pretty much jump in before doing the final mission at pretty much any point. There is also the option of just jumping in to the dlc (i didn't take it but i know its possible

It was good from the beginning unless you were some console peasant, a.k.a inferior technology, a.k.a irrelevant experience. It has the best graphics on the market 3 years later, so of course it's gonna be heavy.

what was good? the cops? driving ai? enemy ai? useless shit scattered all over the place? dysfunctional builds? dialogue options? choices? dozens of broken quests? hundreds of other bugs? played at launch on 2070s 9700, over 100 hours. don't fucking tell me that the piece of shit which i played wasnt an actual piece of shit. if not for the funny bugs and god-tier map and graphics i wouldve flushed it in 10 hours

Wait what? Dialogues and quests lacking? Bro those were one of the best things about this game from the very beggining lol Itt. is it worth it? Big dlc for a AAA game for only $30 is rarity nowadays. Yeah its worth it imo.

those were and still are extremely underwhelming when compared to any of their witcher games. for the dialogues - they just annoy me, the way everyone talks in this fucking place. but thats personal preference, whatever but what really felt like shit is that a lot of the choices you are given are this: "will you do my questline?" "yes/no" almost any characters questline has that choice. refuse - and it ends right there and then. also it doesn't matter what start you choose or what stats you level, the dialogue options will be different but the outcomes the same. it's cosmetic shit. there are decent quests with real choices as well but few and far between, and even some of those and up not mattering at all. example: getting the spy robot for dex in the very start. like sure, many ways to do this one, but it really doesn't matter what you decide, outcome will be the same

so, you're complaining about RP elements which btw. were pretty lacking in Witcher 3 as well I mean i agree there could've been more choices/more impactful choices but it has little to do with quests and dialogues lol

wdym, it has everything to do with dialogues, if it doesn't matter what option you choose then why have options at all? and given that a lot of quests are just - go there and talk to that guy, it makes me not care about any of those characters. example: judy questline - going to clouds to talk to her ex, no matter how hard you try to convince her to join or if you completely fuck it up, she still joins you in the next mission. and if you want to know what her deal is - the dialogues gives you nothing, the max you get is the emails on her pc. btw the fact that so much of the the world building is hidden in data shards and neverending chat logs is quite disappointing as well. it's true that witcher 3 isnt the best rp game, but you don't play as yourself either, you play as a character who's been in multiple books, so there's just not much room to roleplay, yet you still CAN do it. meanwhile 2077 devs said theyre making it first person for better immersion, they let you design your character, let you choose their backstory, and for what? it just disappointing. anyways i've been having these debates for almost 3 years now, don't think any minds were changed in the end, ,this is pointless, at least im enjoying what they've made of the game now

I understand your point mate its just i think you miss the point a little. You're obviously talking about lacking RP elements and this is not the same thing as dialogues or quests being bad. I see how lack of choices/RP elements can make u feel that way but quests still have a lot of depth and dialogues are interesting in the sense that they affect the story and characters and how you perceive them (its hard to explain what i have in mind tbh). So these things are very well done, its just there are not enough choices to make it seem like a solid RPG game and as i said i agree with you on that part. However, when we talk about choies and RP elements in general i think it is worth mentioning that there are barely any RPG games that do it well nowadays. Witcher 3 was also lacking in that regard but it was understandable because Geralt was already a written character so he had his ideas, goals, alignments etc whatever already set - so giving players choices to roleplay Geralt to do things he would never do would be stupid, so it was fine here. But then you can look at any AAA rpg and they all suck in this regard, the last RPGs from big studios i can think of that had RP elements well done were Fallout: New Vegas and Baldurs Gate 3. And thats literally it. All im saying is idk why do u have such high standards in this regard when this whole trend of having poor choices/RP elements continues for quite some time now. Unless u just played New Vegas and BG3 and jumped right into playing CP2077 hence why you see it that way lol.

I guess the reason is simple - I think it's overrated. Ever since launch I've been seeing people everywhere say how much they enjoy the story, characters, setting etc., and I'm just there like - huh? I found it hard to care about anyone in the game, in my opinion because of the lack of exposition, minor details. The main character (at least street kid and corpo) has lived in NC for a long time, he knows the ins and outs, how shit works, which gang runs what district, knows the difference between every big bad organization. Because of that the character knows what's important, and dialogues are built around that. But how should I know, I just got here??? Talking out of my ass here but I bet the whole thing would work way better if V was, like the player, new to Night City, and Jacky and others got to show us around, explain how shit works. I really think that would have been a great story. But the way the game just throws you in - not a fan of how they executed that.

How can anyone in their right mind say game was fine at release? It was one of the most disastrous releases of all time, they were screwed by the company who were testing the game for bugs, which was evident. Game simply wasn’t ready to be released, not even close! Now it’s a beautiful and amazing game, still at least a tier below witcher but they made up for it big time.

i would wait at least more 3-5 years to play the game your first gameplay is the one that sticks to you and you better make it worth it, so its better to just wait really, like no mans sky for example
