They freak out about people screaming something basic after a round. I'm not sure they can handle him.

Ok so? He isnt as good as he might have been in the past, lacks any team work and respect for others. Good luck if anyone picks him up for a team.

You have no clue how good he could be if he came to CS2. But you're 100% right he is a cancer to any team he is on and a solo player in a team game. Beyond that though, it really was nice to watch him play that way and do well. Like fuck the meta full send 24/7 is pretty exciting CS, maybe not the highest IQ, but sometimes apeing through a smoke works and he made it work often enough to justify it.

meh, he's still better off getting four retirees and do a stream team like say with tarik and other friends and try to qualify for PGL Copenhagen.

Why? The ex-NA pros could easily dupe all the trash NA orgs to fully fund their ride to T1 events like they used to. They're certainly popular enough streamers to justify the ROI of a paycheck + funding travel and lodging for events. I don't think they'd be very successful, he is a dividing force and the rest of the NA talent pool would have to get pretty lucky to strike gold again. Not that I don't hope they eventually become competitive even if it is just one or two teams, but I sort of doubt it at the same time.

that's the point, Stewie's still divisive in the community even with the success he helped bring to NA. If you put him on another random NA team, the team will probably implode in just a few weeks simply because of Stewie. Better to just confine him to himself and friends like tarik and shroud and just try to yolo it to the RMR with them to try to qualify for Copenhagen at least.

I mean despite him being him. They did win a grand slam, and that was a grand slam for NA CS. If you think about it, that is kind of crazy, and I don't think most teams even despite his negative PR and attitude would see that as a bad investment. And I'm not sure his teammates at the time even if they hated him could say they regret it.

2023-10-01 02:43
He might be, but you really don't think anyone can make a comeback? I think CS2's release will see a resurgence of old names with some of this reaching the top again.
2023-10-01 02:37

meh, we're more likely to see new names than that happening. And I'd prefer it that way.
2023-10-01 02:40
i mean, you never know? but in all honestly it'll probably just add depth in na for the first year, i dont think we'll actually see any decent team come out of it and a lot of the old pros who are just coming back will realise the games a lot different now im more excited about the orgs investing in the na region than old big names coming back tbh
2023-10-01 02:41

that'll likely wait until mid 2024 or when 2025 looms closer since that'll be when everything goes back to open circuit. And I'd rather not have NA have old names returning. I'm not interested in NA to go the Brazil way and consistently recycle the same old pros instead of going for new talent coming out or current talent improving even if they're mid. Europe consistently pumps out new names every time and since late 2022 to the beginning of 2023, even Asia is starting to have a new generation showing up and attempting to take on the world, especially EU opposition. Why tf does NA have to try to resort to old names to try put ourselves on the map again.
2023-10-01 02:55

big names are helpful at first especially just to revive some interest in the region, and yeah thats what everyone wants to happen with na having a younger gen coming in but the problem is there isn't much talent in na hopefully the new orgs understand that and stick to trying to develop talented players at first, its what the region needs also i would honestly say brazils worse than na, because brazil actually has talent just the orgs have 0 brains and refuse to move on
2023-10-01 03:12
NA will probably do exactly what they did before. Trash money hungry orgs will split the talent pool so deeply that they have zero shot of winning, meanwhile massively overpaying plays who will coast off that easy contract money until the scene shrinks and 1-2 finals teams emerge and perhaps make a run of things. Brazil will do something similar but get their shit together far sooner than NA. And EU/Eastern EU/Russia will crush it. Old pros will come back and grind and be solid, current pros will still go hard AF, and the new talent is going to follow their footsteps. EU will probably dominate the scene again and solid orgs will snipe anyone from a lesser team and create super solid 5 man all star stacks. There will be a really deep talent pool in EU where even their "T2" talent is still far better than the rest of the world. And hopefully with all of that we get to watch high level CS from the RO8 or even sooner all the way to the finals in all events. But honestly the worst part is the orgs and how they enter the NA space. They throw money at these kids and there are grinders and those who when they secure the bag take their foot off the gas. There are teams that rely on a "celebrity" player and cheap out on the rest of the team to attempt to maximize ROI. I just don't think the orgs ever put themselves in a viable position, but I'd be happy to be wrong cuz I just like rooting for good CS.

ngl, as much as I want orgs to return and invest in NA, at the same time I sort of dont. Mainly because orgs still notoriously overpay their players to the point of nearing bankruptcy like with Valorant-focused Sentinels who are spending hundreds of thousands on salaries alone while financially ruining themselves in the process, and are on life support as a result. It's basically one of the reasons why I've stopped caring about the NA scene. If you want to give players a high salary fine, just make it that it's high enough to be livable but also financially wise. Not in undeserved amounts. Also, I think you're underestimating Brazil's ability to try to get a grip. They've been recycling the same pros for who knows how long, despite having the talent. But they're literally refusing to give them a chance while also artificially inflating outrageously high buyouts. The only Brazilian team that even has any sort of potential future is MIBR. And if we're ever going to bet on a non-EU region to be able to give us high quality CS and be able to contend against EU opposition in the future, Asia is ironically the way to go since they've now shown that they're capable of keeping up with EU opposition despite the disadvantages they have as a region currently.
2023-10-01 03:36
yup, it is just the mindset of na players as well bad mindset/unserious org ----> lack of talent in region or talent in region moves to valorant --- > the talent that plays cs and works hard doesnt have anyone good to practice with so gets worse i hope the new org have an idea on what they're doing and are patient

The only new NA org that has any blueprint for what they want to do for the long term in CS2 is M80.
