I think skins are fundamentally different than NFTs in a lot of relevant ways, but I can see the criticism in their similarities. It is definitely not as safe an investment as something like ETFs, Valve could pull the plug any time they want, but it also has more lucrative upside.

Skins in general are not good investments, they don't grow in value as much. People just keep opening cases and thus more of them gets made. With exception with rare operation collection skins, that no longer drops, but they're far from low prices and are growing slowly and steadily. Paris sticker sale is still up, and have actual dip in sales for the stickers. Sticker capsules are safe bet, also good unique holo stickers are good pick. These are expected to grow in value a lot faster than anything else.

skins since realease just got more and more expensive, like what are you talking about ? like you can have few drop like rn bc hype of cs2 was a bit a speculative bubble, but since 10 years skins are a pretty great investisement imo

They're slow growers, they won't make you rich quick. It isn't just profit that matters, but speed at which you grow profits. The faster you can profit, the earlier you can cash out, reinvest, to grow money lot lot faster. Spending x amount of money to get 2x like 5-10 years later, that's so many wasted opportunities.

There are paris sticker that had more than doubled in value even before sale have ended (Gamer Legion holo). Major capsules and good stickers are expected to grow in value a lot faster.

Bruh theyre rising in value much faster than Stocks or any other regular investment I got around 250% on skins i bought 3-4 years ago With stocks a 10% return per year is considered good

some old collections will do, all of them are discontinued and have continued to go up in price. I bought 2 crimson blossom 57's for 30$ like 2 years ago and theyve over doubled in price xdd

Adjust for inflation that makes for a very mediocre investment. Also none are discontinued as long as you can buy cases.

Inflation has been like 15-20% since then. SPY is literally flat over that time period. Any investor would kill for double returns. You don't understand investing lol

So far: Fade knives (fade gradient is much smoother and better lighting reflection) Doppler knives better color and show texture now (p1 massive buff, p2 pink looks much better, p4 blue looks better) Case hardened skins (gold glows more) Omega Gloves (grey / black are changed and they seem to wear less but that may be changed) Damascus steel is changed in CS2 and looks much better, I don't like these knives but market seems to like the changes The high end sport gloves were nerfed at higher wears as of now, you really see them wear and the fingers show decolorization, even at MW. Amphibious Gloves seem to show wear at basically all floats. Not sure if they over did this.
