Arabs do it aswell, so weird people don't what it is.
2013-03-04 12:32
arabs use snus? I very much doubt that.
2013-03-04 19:44
it's tobacco rolled in paper that you put in your mouth ?Then yes, I know they do, mostly in maghreb.
2013-03-04 20:53
it's not rolled in paper here (you either make small portions with your hands or buy "tea bag" portions), but I guess the tobacco product itself could be the same. always thought it was only used in scandinavia and a bit in the us as it was invented in sweden.
2013-03-07 17:55

how long has it been unavaliable in finland?
2013-03-01 16:34
since 1995
2013-03-01 16:53
Any reason for that? Only because its not healthy? Does it count as a drug? WTF
2013-03-01 18:45
It's some EU directive. Sweden is the only Eu country allowed to sell snus becoz of their long traditions :D
2013-03-01 19:00
And maybe because Sweden is not a full member of the EU just like Switzerland, Denmark and Norway where you can buy that crap as well. Still dont get the exact reason? Since you can buy cigars which arent any healthier at all or even worse. Sounds like there is some kind of lobby work going on in the tobacco industry to push competition out.
2013-03-01 19:14
"and maybe because sweden is not a full member of the EU" ? Source pls? Get your facts straight before utter yourself man. Norway isnt even a part of the european union. They have oil money, the norwegians can live off the governments money for 3 years with the current salary without working. Denmark and Sweden is a full part of the European Union and both are two of the most contributing countries.
2013-03-03 17:24
1. Sweden is not part of the EU currency. 2. Sweden is refusing to take part in the EU bailouts. Just like Denmark. And on top of that they dont accept much EU rules/agreements and laws like most of the EU countries do. Example? Like the snus thing :D I bet sweden is not even ruled by 50% of those EU laws. In some EU countries you have over 80% Dont get me wrong i think thats a great way to stand for your country/ideology/culture and not a silly EU dream to abolish local laws from the funding fathers of such countries for a greater economy which seems to collapse in the next 20years. That should give you a hint how much sweden is a part of the EU :D
2013-03-03 20:22
ouhow here we go again with the false statements. Since when and how does currencies and bailouts have anything to do with EU membership and contribution? I think we have different views towards that definition. How should it be defined? Only by currincies and bailouts maybe, no? Germany and france are roots of maintaing the falling ship of europe such as Greece, Spain, Portugal and Ireland bailouts. Im pretty sure Germany has their own laws just like Sweden, Denmark and any other european countries which are above European laws. EU´s direction and goal is not to turn Europe into one country with Brussels laws that overrules single governments, you know that dont you? In the past years depending on Nordic countries GDP has the highest taxes of ALL members.
2013-03-03 20:51
Since the EU is being build on that. The idea was to have a stable EU in good and bad times. And bailouts were a plan of it. You only want to get advantage of the positives? The idea of the EU is exactly that to turn it into one big country. One big goverment. In countries like germany or netherlands or even france you already have over 70% of the laws which are ruled from brussels. So yeah totally false statement In taxes you are right denmark is leading that sector. And they dont pay anything in the EU :D They take their taxes for their own people just like sweden. And thats how the EU should have worked from the beginning. You even pointed greece and spain out. Which are now totally in hand of the EU and not by their actual goverments which were voted in place by the people. Dont you get it? Bailouts and currency werent a plan in the 90s. But now they are!
2013-03-03 21:00
haha right Iam talking to a brick wall, forgot I was on forum for a while. Can I have Source to 80 percent of those three government laws being ruled by EU´s please. Basically the founders of the european union were those countries so that makes sense that the laws are similair.
2013-03-03 21:03
Okay since you only speak english and swedish i assume. How about we take the UK as an example. Is that okay for you? Studies show a lot less than the claimed 50% in newspapers and statements by some parliament representatives but here the parliament paper from 2010 Scroll to 55 In the eary years the rate was pretty accurate with 40-50% and more. Since most EU legislation are now in place the numbers for sure dropped over the years. Since no new ones are needed when EU legislations took place. In some Sectors like environment you are easily over 60% in those countries. I admit the 70% in some countries is not accurate or less. Studies mostly goverment funded show lower numbers. How about you do from right here your own research and tell me your conclusions and tell me them.
2013-03-03 21:45
Something i forgot how about you have a look how much influence the EU right now has on countries like you mentioned before. Spain. Greece. Ireland. Portugal Look especially onto the economy sector. The deficit, spending the budget as an example. Hey i have no problem with the EU having such an influence if they would actually do their job and not causing more shit to happen.
2013-03-03 22:02
Norway is not part of the EU so what? Beside that your statement doesnt make any sense. If they get a salary they actually work. 3years? In germany you can take even longer welfare till you get a job. I mean thats how sweden works as well isnt it? About the oil norways oil production is around 2.8% of the worlds demand. How much is goverment owned? I doubt its more than 1% Nearly every third country has a decent economy because of the resources their land has so what? Look at canada and australia. Where is the problem again?
2013-03-03 20:38
Is that the problem? Abuse of the earth resources? Tell that the other 100 countries which do exactly the same
2013-03-03 20:42
It was to set an example of falsly statements regarding norwegian government fundings. Sense has nothing to do with the equation. Let me get this straight. Norwegian state are the head owners of their major oil companies such as Statoil, meaning "State oil". No debts what so ever. They can quit their job and live off oil fundings.
2013-03-03 20:55
Yeah and most of it goes into pension funds when they are retired. Statoil is owned by 67% by the goverment rest is privat. Their producting rate with 2billion barrels per day is actually above 2% of 2.8% within the contry. Its the biggest oil company in norway an the 13th largest in the world. Okay i got that right now Still i dont exaclty got the problem?
2013-03-03 21:14
+denmark norway greenland and some african countries google it
2013-03-01 19:58
not true, you can buy snus legaly in Poland. But SW snus is just better.
2013-03-04 22:26
Shit that makes your teeth yellow as fuck.
2013-03-01 15:31
So does Cigarettes.
2013-03-01 18:19
Thats one of the reasons you shouldnt consume neither of them
2013-03-01 18:50
2013-03-01 21:38
that problem is solved by whitening your teeth one time a year or every second year.
2013-03-07 17:58
OR you could just stop being nasty as fuck and brush your teeth
2013-03-07 23:15
who said I'm not brushing them? if anything, snus is good for the teeth as it kills damaging bacterias in the mouth.
2013-03-08 17:51
Coca cola kills bacteria, so you should brush your teeth with that. Typical human logic. Too fat? Get surgery because you can't take responsibility of your actions. Yellow teeth because you used some nasty shit that you are addicted to? Go to a dentist for teeth whitening.
2013-03-08 19:29
coca-cola contains acids which damage the enamel, while snus damages the teeth superficially. the comparison is retarded, and so are you.
2013-03-08 20:44
Don't bother explaining things to him, he is obviously too dumb to understand.
2013-03-08 21:06
Both are still disgusting as fuck, and you should feel bad.
2013-03-08 21:20
Coming from an american, gg
2013-03-08 18:22
? I brush my teeth. Because some people in america eat unhealthy doesn't mean that I do, and that doesn't mean that I don't brush my teeth. Because some people in your country eats unhealthy shit, does that mean that you do? No, didn't think so. Silly dane.
2013-03-08 19:23
No, it's the fact that you're telling that guy whats good for him (or people with snus). Like you know shit about it, which you obviously don't.
2013-03-08 21:06
What the fuck are you even talking about broseph? Snus is unhealthy and bad for your teeth. Thats a fact. I never told him that he shouldnt use it, I just told him it is disgusting as fuck. What do I have to know shit about? God damn moron lol
2013-03-08 21:16
Its snus very common in sweden and norway atleast, for many prefered over cigaretts.
2013-03-01 15:32
Which I think is good because Cigarettes does not affect anyone else.

Still, I don't smoke nor do a lot of my friends. Schnupftabak I know too tho.

you never heard of kautabak. GG
2013-03-01 16:57
I don't smoke. Nor do many friends of mine. No one in my WHOLE family smokes.
2013-03-01 16:59
it's not kautabak. it's snus. snus is "pretty popular" in Switzerland (and Austria). most of the people who use it are from the countryside and/or in the ice-hockey-business. it is forbidden in the whole EU except Sweden. Switzerland and Norway aren't in the EU and it is legal there. Recently Switzerland talked about forbidding it. As a result the Swedish boss-lady (dunno her true title :D) made a visit to defend snus :D
2013-03-01 17:25
World breezy0
whatever it's similar, the only difference is that you don't chew it.
2013-03-01 17:22
Haha, hockeyplayers and snus is apparently a universal thing, didn't know that :D

2013-03-01 16:54
It is, but smoking is more disgusting.
2013-03-01 18:20
Both smoking and snus is fucking disgusting, so who would pick either of them if you do perfectly fine without them?

2013-03-03 17:21
it's being sold everywhere "under the table"
2013-03-03 17:38
Snus is awesome, over 150,000 users in Finland and they cant even sell it in here. That should tell you how nice it is.
2013-03-03 17:38
Tastes like shit.
2013-03-03 20:37
Agree Your body always tells you whats good or bad. Just like poisonous plants/leafs/fruits on your skin. The skin will tell you its not good. Same goes for your tongue. Now if you ignore that first impression for what ever reasons. You can consume some things and your body might start to get slighty resistent to it or even start to get a addiction. But its still bad for your body. For sure that impression doesnt fit to any element.
2013-03-03 22:09
most people dont like something they didnt try before on the first taste, and snus isnt really that unhealthy either, they still havent given a solid reason to why it is forbidden in other countries than Sweden, since its much less unhealthy than cigarettes, its just easier to forbid something that fewer people use
2013-03-04 12:48
not sure how its LESS unhealthy. Both can cause cancer. The one lung and the other one throat cancer. And both destroy your teeth on long term usage. So yeah in theory snus is not as dangerous as cigars since you dont breath the shit in but thats just theory.
2013-03-04 19:26
they have not been able to connect throat cancer to snus. that's why it's says "may be unhealthy" on the snus boxes and not "is unhealthy" like on the cigarette packs. the only proven health risk by using snus is high blood pressure as a result of the nicotine, but it is highly unlikely that this will cause you any serious harm as snus elevate the blood pressure insignificantly in one out of hundred thousand cases. mixed with a bad diet overall it can obviously increase the probability of health damage, but it's not damaging alone in any way similar to cigarettes.
2013-03-07 18:26
"mixed with a bad diet overall it can obviously increase the probability of health damage, but it's not damaging alone in any way similar to cigarettes." Thats bad enough for calling it unhealthy. We both know what they have in common/substances and i wont argue about you which one is worse because both are unhealthy the other one might be worse i have no prove but i might agree with you. Its not like every smoker dies out of lung cancer. Same goes for snus with oral/mouth cancer. But it highers the risk and thats bad so you consider calling it unhealthy. Such as teeth problems.
2013-03-07 21:03
you can't say that it higher the risk if it hasn't been proved. edit: many dentists argue that snus kills some of the bacterias in the mouth that cause damage to the teeth. I' started snusing five years ago and haven't had a single hole since.
2013-03-07 21:31
Its not about if it is unhealthy or not, but the fact that there are alot unhealthier products legal , like alcohol, cigarettes, EVERYTHING that contains sugar.. they havent proved even 1 case of cancer caused by snus, while almost 400 million people suffer from diabetes. They just made it illegal because there were not enough people using it to stop them from doing it, and they fact that EU as a whole wouldnt make a profit from it
2013-03-08 16:43
do you really believe on forbidden because its unhealthy for people? happy you...
2013-03-07 18:02
I wont argue about you about nicotine being in any given way good for you. As the guy above me cliff mentioned it can cause higher risk of health damage. If you can prove me something like weed can be used in a good way to cure then i take it back
2013-03-07 21:04
It's not about effect of nicotine, but about freedom of choice.
2013-03-07 21:03
Well in that way you are right. Since the fin mentioned the EU rules about snus it looks more like a lobby work from the tobacco industry against products like snus. Agree. Everyone should be allowed to take what ever he wants no matter how unhealthy it is. Okay in some cases of drugs it might get too far but snus is cealry not worse than cigars or alcohol so in that term its not understandable why its forbidden to sell. I mean why do you think its forbidden? We can just speculate. At least i dont know the exact reasons
2013-03-07 21:09
I even hate the smell of it.
2013-03-04 14:00
The smell is soooo good, but I don't like the taste either.
2013-03-04 14:06
So you like it and don't either. Way too Schrödinger dude, people won't get it
2013-03-04 20:03
My fascial reaction to the smell is like, bleh.
2013-03-07 17:47
It tastes like whatever flavour you buy dipshit :D
2013-03-04 19:50
snus <3
2013-03-04 20:00
You might have heard of Swedish Snus and thought they were a dog breed or some type of food but in reality, they’re a tobacco related product. Although most of us relate tobacco to cigarettes, there are actually non-smoked products made from the same leaves. Probably you’re familiar with the chewed tobacco since this is a habit that a lot of Native Americans still partake of. It is also very popular in the early days of baseball as it was used to help keep mitts and mouths moist all throughout the game, However, unlike chewed tobacco, a person does not need to spit out the by-product of Snus. It should also be distinguished from what most people call snuff. Snuff is powdered tobacco that people consume through inhalation. The closest tobacco product to Snus is called dipped tobacco. They share the same moistness but they’re used in a different manner. Swedish Snus come in finely powdered form and are packed in a cylinder to be placed underneath the upper lip. They also come in proportioned sachets and are used in the same manner. On the other hand, dipped tobacco is similarly moist but they’re larger, more like ground or chopped than powdered and are placed on the lower lip.
