I have AMD PHENOM II X2 555 Processor, 4gb RAM, AMD RADEON HD 6700 series. I can have 100-140 but my fps are not stable. I know it will change when you more but its like i drop too low. Specially when me and enemy are shooting each other. Maybe down to 50fps when shooting. Looks like you have a good fps. So can i have your config and also video config just to compare with mine?

Video options are like this : sphotos-e.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/6.. Only texture detail is low too. Steam community in-game is off. That would be it :) Mine isn't stable , on cw it goes from 100-140, so it changes.

NiP gui will just give more fps in menu but in game no. Before NiP gui my fps in menu was max 180, now is 300 constant.. in game the same amount of fps :)

There was a thread here or NiP's site where some dude said his fps increased since he is using NiP's gui, and then some admin replied that this gui is simpler than the original one, and the graphics is lowered down. :)

You can easily OC it @ 3.6 with standard voltage. :) Just hit 400FSB in BIOS. It is absolutly safe.

First of all, you should check your current temperatures when idle and when ingame. They should not be over 60°C and in case the temperatures are low (<50°) you might be able to OC it. However, given the fact that you have a stock cooler, you should OC it just a little amount higher than the default clock frequency (3.0). Also I'd highly recommend you to read some articles about overclocking your CPU.

C2D E8500 @3.2 ghz 4gb 800 mhz ddr2 asus 9600 gt overclocked a bit mid/low settings kinda like forest but not the same at 1024x768 5v5 - 100- 200 depends on map dm around 80-90 As for overclocking theese old C2D especially the 84++ and lower 6 were very good for OC ing.. Personally i had mine e6320 running around 38°C so i overclocked it to 2.7 ghz temps around 45-6°on stock cooler what is still cool. It worked without any problem for 2 years then the CPU died, well not died but can't be overclocked anymore, even one more mhz and it fails the check :D so i bought e8500 which should be easily oced to 4+ghz we'll see.

E6600 was one of the best, if not the best one, dual core processor of its time. You could overclock it over 3.30GHz cause its 65nm technology could handle high temperatures with ease. You could also increase its voltage to nearly 1.50V and still have a stable system. Palit's GTX260 has a 448bit memory interface and 896MB GDDR3 of memory and even now handles any game easily. The latest Tomb Raider for example, runs with over 40fps using high settings. Last but not least, P5N32-E-SLi was the best nForce 680i motherboard your money could buy back then. ps : It's not a joke, it's a fact.

Apart from your low frequency RAM your graphics card isn't meant for gaming. Mostly for 3D applications like CAD or similar. Performs like an 8 series GeForce card (ex. 8800) and it's pretty difficult to get more than you already getting. So i would say, buy a new gpu. An Nvidia 650/660 or AMD 7850/7870 would be the best choice here.

Well it's a low end card and you should lower your graphic settings as much as you can. Basically, you should keep your expectations pretty low. A 650 Ti is cheap nowadays and it's a huge upgrade regarding the 610.

Xeon E3110 is C2D E8400 without some features ark.intel.com/compare/33910,34694 as a rule overclocking is a lottery, some cpus do great overclock and some don't, the same with gpus I have seen on forums E8400 hitting 4,0Ghz quite easily with a slight overvoltage

i had a e8400,i've tried to oc it with a low profile cooler,but it dosen't matter since the temp was low,35 in idle,and 60 full load,even tho i couldn't even get it to 3.1,when i pump both the voltage and the frequency even just a bit,my pc wouldn't boot,but it does eventually after 3/4 trys and the frequency get back to default... here's the cooler outletpc.com/mm8966-thermaltake-cl-p0326..

Yup, still have it, refitted the cpu the other day and got it running at 3.2 again, and upped my GPU core to 925; +10 fps overall. Cba to buy a new one, am an old geezer compared to the rest of the gaming scene nowadays. I don't play much FPS any more, rather enjoy playing racing games when I have the time (F1, iRacing, rFactor) and it runs them just fine.

OC'd to 3.6Ghz? Got exactly the same setup as you without the OC (3.0Ghz) and i get only 70-110 in 5on5 and about 50-80 on DM... Great! :D

haha, that's even worse than me! c2d T8100 2.1 ghz Nvidia GeForce 8600M GT 4GB Ram 800x600 FPS unstable, depending on map and location. outside FPS < inside. roughly 60 FPS average, I guess. only play DM with bots for better FPS (1vs3 on aimmaps) there FPS are ~75. new laptop is on it's way, though!

This fps is probably because of bottleneck between gpu and cpu.. If you would buy i3 3220 fps would be 150+, Im sure..

last gen dual cores, like e8xxx are perfectly fine for csgo, if you have a good vga you will get 180-200fps at high/ultra settings.

i think there is bit of bottleneck ,because when i decrease the resolution (1024x768)to(800x600),the fps increase is only 10fps approx and when from(800x600) to (640x480) there isnt any !

I have a 9800GT 1gb ddr3 256bits and I get the same, although my cpu is a bit less powerfull. When I changed from 1680x1050 to 1024x768 I see no difference in fps. Don't know why :P Edit: I'm happy anyways, it's a 7 year old PC :P

Upgraded from C2D E7400 to C2Q Q9650 (thb it's Xeon E5450, but there is no difference) and my FPS rises near twice. Most of the time it's 130 - 160 fps, sometimes up to 190 (mirage) @ 5v5.
