Maybe problem is that CSGO is not so popular like LEGENDARY 1.6 ?
with navi it would've been 35k
...and most of the viewers (like me) would still prefer watching that match in CS 1.6 :D
Up to 30,000 across GOTV and all streams.
if main stream of event watch girls match IM NO SURPRISED. Only english stream is rahim and its not best way
cuz it's a shit game ! that's all
could also be because main CPH stream didnt carry it but chicks games instead.
maybe because its new??maybe it grows like LoL because LoL had few viewers in the beginning too?IMO they should introduce in game streams to cs:go in that way noobs would join the streams too and then we can have +30k for every match =)
what the fuck kind of decision is it to cast female over UBFinal?! Now that I do not understand
because the fanbase / playerbase isn't as big as in 1.6
I don't watch this shitty event. :)
And ? :S Which is why many people say they see the CG?
Not many people are playing the game , compared to SC2 , LOL etc
Then ask yourself why not many people are playing csgo?
Well the anwser is valve prefers to make you able to carry hostages instead of making the game more like 1.6 to attract players from there , or any other gameplay change that makes cs so unique.
Does not help that the ones deciding the matches for the official stream had a major brain fart. Not showing the upperbracket final is a fail decision, no matter how you look at it. Would have loved to hear Corey Dunn analyze on the VP vs. NiP matches...
as long as I get to see them epic games, I don't care!
I remember when esport was about watching competition and enjoying it.
Well, CS:GO is a boring game to play... but it's EVEN MORE boring to watch.
Can u see the difference? This game has been out barely a year, in 2012 1.6 had been for a decade. Thats my best shot on why - im sure CSGO is gonna grow.
20k spectators: 10k real players of csgo + 10k only spectators of showmatch
csgo is down
Justin beiber also has more viewers than dream theater.
Some people like an amazing band like dream theater, but a lot more people like justin beiber.
Listen to what you like.
Watch games that you like.
Stop hating like douchebags.
If you really care about viewing numbers you should change game.
this is the first year of cs go
and it has +20K i think this is great , we must give it a chance
oh look that thread again ....
Seriously this kind of thread is here on the forums every single week ! Can't you people for once in your life play/watch and do whatever YOU like and stop comparing.
I don't give a single fuck how many people are watching NBA matches as long as I am watching and enjoying them and playing the game of basketball.
I couldn't GIVE A FUCK about how many people have seen that movie that i waited so long so I can watch.
I don't give a fuck how many views does my favorite music artist has on youtube and how many comments his/her videos have.
AND I most certainly dont give a fuck how many of you are watching the cs:go streams I enjoy watching and how many HOURS in steam my favorite game ( ATM ) is being played...
Why can't you all pathetic people just live your OWN life instead of comparing to what others like and what others do ffs ...
you cant compare 10 year and 2 year game.
Maine reason is DotA2.
New generation prefer to play Halo/BF3 on xbox.
You should relax. I really don't like CS:GO, but the viewer number is fine, just because it can't compete with LoL/Dota2/SC2 does not mean the game is dead.
was mixing instead, what of it
Cs:go doesnt have as many viewers as 1.6 did and most likely never will be the gameplay isnt anywhere near as exciting...they took source and made it into a version of source/c.o.d/battlefield. I dont want to watch a game where my focus is taken away from players bc theres a burning car on my screen like im in the slums of iraq...I dont give a fuck about what the scenery on the map is like, I just want a solid map with places for players to hide/stack/boost etc. Also I hate how there is way less wallbanging in cs:go. Aspects like wallbanging in 1.6 made things more exciting, little things like that could be game changing and blow ur mind. Now in cs:go u have to actually see the person and then strafe back and forth while spraying at their feet to get a random headshot...
The game is just nowhere near as exciting to watch from a viewers perspective. Also u never really see a team push up on a single player and have that 1 player take down 4-5 guys in 1 spray like u did in 1.6, its almost like the armor in cs:go is way stronger making it harder to pull off a crazy 5second ace on a rush. Idk, thats just my opinion. I dont really have fun or get excited watching matches, even if its a matchup between 2 of my fav teams, fnatic/NIP.
well look at the stream quality difference between the RIOT streams and these poor cs streams. If copenhagen games or valve itself would put some effort in good official streams, then they could keep some viewers. now after 10mins of watching i feel tired because of stupid casters/laggy stuff.
shit event with shit admins
when 1.6 first came out in its first year how many viewers did it have? x
This game shouldn't be an esport ; )
Maybe if they didn't schedule the big matches for the early hours of the morning...
more than 30k viewers for the finals of The Defense (DOTA2), nice try guys
The game needs good prizes to get more viewers.
Maybe also becoming a F2P game may help, though when you can play COD for $1Million on console or every other month 15-20k SC2 at MLG why would people flock to CSGO for a few thousand every now and then?
game is boring to watch, all the fancy graphics did not make up for the lack of depth in gameplay.game is just garbage.
no surprise. in one match the casters didn't say a word about the match for 4 straight rounds. no joke. and it was early in the match, not a 14-2 situation.
i have usually enjoyed the casting of the very same casters but i don't know what they were thinking.
Imo the gotv is really fuckd up and laggy all the time, cant really enjoy watching any game. No wonder since the whole CS:GO is really badly programmed software.
Alot of people celebrated easter, I'm one of them.
I think it's because of the bad casters. I prefer watching in-game.
edit: there are also multiple streams. I doubt you added all viewers from different streams up.
because, e-sports is to childish sometimes
They should create world cup, where every nation picks the best 5 to represent the country.. and also media coverage about it.
Than people who dont care about the games, will just watch to cheer for their national team..
and not "10 swedish teams, with names like Ninjas(no hate) and the others"
Thats how all sports get recognized..
Clans are childish
I respect the players
anyways, i think cs:go when updated well..and spread along..and grown
Will reach numbers far superior to 1.6
Bad casters are a big part of this. The delays might be a big part of it as well. Also have to remember that all the NaVi fanboys are boycottingxDD
cs:go can't compare with 1.6 ,GG
CS 1.6: Winfakt.FI versus SK gaming = 100 k viewers
CS:GO: NiP versus top2 team in world (5 hard bots) = 20k viewers
And people told me the final will have far over 25k :D i knew it not even 20k as it seems
why r u comparing a semi avg game (CS:GO) with a game that has been relavant for 12years (CS 1.6)
imo cs:go is just having a CGS moment that being said 1.6 still wont come back.
CSGO LAN finals will never gain a massive amount of viewers, the final doesnt start till like 2 am.. just think its 3am in denmark now and the finals havent been played yet
In 1.6, alot of the specs were non steam user's.
There were ~44 channels streaming CS, almost half and one third the numbers streaming dota 2 and LOL, SC2.
Despite what some people might say, cs never had a big streaming culture, where as SC2, Dota 2, the spectator client is a central feature in the game.
The streams itself doesn't hold a candle unfortunately compared to the production quality of the top SC2/dota streaming studios.
And also the tournament itself - SO MANY games crammed into such a tight schedule. People aren't able to watch all day, of course you are going to miss games, as well as some questionable streaming decisions as to what games to spectate.
Unless valve start putting the $$$ into CSGO, its a stupid exercise thinking it will hit the same as SC2/dota2/lol where the devs have poured money into the game to make it initially stand out from the crowd.
Still, it was the 3rd most watched game on twitch for a while, which is certainly promising.
Plus the navi fiasco. They were douchebags for pulling out like that - I am not commenting on what happened regarding admins/miscommunication, but they DISAPPOINTED THEIR FANS, pulling out of one the biggest lan events so far.
why the fuck people dont watching GreatFrag stream lol...
the finals didn't even reach 20K viewers... morel ike 17K... very sad
Stupid navi mafia organization fanboi. stop troll please.
The numbers were pretty decent if you take into consideration that besides 20k viewers on streams, there were at least as much (or even more if you see that official casters aren't that popular with the crowd) on GOTV.
I personally picked the second alternative in all cases because I'd rather try to comprehend the moves myself than hearing some random and inaccurate stuff by the side of someone quite incompetent or without much knowledge on the game.
There are so many things that can be improved in order to get enormous numbers like in other games. I'm not even sure if it was possible to check out how many people were watching it ingame?
Personally, I'd be happy tune into a stream with Joe Miller or Paul (ReDeYe) doing the casting part...
Compare 12 years old game who had a lot of events etc to game not 1 year old.... OMG
CSS didn't beat 1.6 and CS GO didn't beat it
but its more than Mad Catz Invitation, who only 13k viewers on Final
How many long people will be saying that it is only beginning? Time to get more popularity already came. After 7 months I am say that CS:GO died. CS 1.6 is unbeatable.
P.S. This event was most majority than others (best teams from all over the world. interest could be huge) and only 20,000k? Shit.
One of the biggest problem is that people dont like cs:go and don't even prefer to watch it, they better prefer to play cs 1,6. Other problem is that some people dont have enough powerful computers to play cs:go and simple they are not intrested in it. Talking about this event finals games was played late in night maybe because this is the reason why only 20k viewers.
Yeah, it was 4 a.m. here when the game started. 20k is a great number
cs go is shit. boring, just nothing..
It was over 30.000 a while in the right time and you have to count more then just twitch, people think that twitch is all, but many news sites have their own streams and then there is GOTV and offcourse people who watch the game from shared clients thus only counting as 1 view.
people prefer play do not watch
I didn't watch it as I don't want to watch NiP rape a bunch of noname noobs all the time tbh.
I need a key cs go! I would love to help me play email: firstname.lastname@example.org
1.6 is just different than any other fps game.. irreplacable <3
It's just not as entertaining to watch or play. They should have done what blizzard did with the starcraft series, they kept the feel and gameplay of the original game while adding lots of new stuff to it and making it more 'modern' looking at the same time. Why would you not start from there when you had so many people playing 1.6 mainly because of the great gameplay it had ?. And if you dont like playing something you probably dont like watching it either.
Moral of the story ~> CS in Source Engine = Fail
I've seen around 25k around noon Saturday...
Every single time during those events I give up before tournament goes into decisive phase.
I don't care enough to stay up till 3am <--- this is something that is killing tournaments. Is it also that bad with LoL/DOTA?
Dota 2 - have tobi wan
Cs Go - have laggy and 2 hours delay
