Did NIP sacrifice their lan record for the good of csgo?
United States stratmatt
Just wanna have some fun.... Think about it. NIP is playing against the top Russian team in front of the biggest audience for csgo yet and everyone wants to see them lose. Did they sacrifice the record to create the first real story in CSGO this year? If you watched the match, there were plenty of uncharacteristic plays made by them....lots of dumb mistakes you normally wouldnt see from a team that went 87-0.... even forest and get_right seemed to be holding back. I am sure that NIP realizes that the health of csgo in general is more important to them as pro players than their own winning streak. Did they maybe hold abck just a little in this match? And will we see suddenly see them put together another insane winning streak following this defeat? Food for thought.

only 12K were on the english stream, people don't care much about GO.
2013-04-09 17:16
The english stream kinda sucked compared to the Russian stream. Tons of non-russian speakers tuned in anyways. Either way, your post is irrelevent to the thread topic.
2013-04-09 17:18
+1 I think Virtus.pro plays really well..
2013-04-09 17:22
This again -.- .. not everyone watches on the English stream
2013-04-09 17:19
I watched the Russian stream even tho I barely understand any Russian.

i always watch russian stream even though i dont really speak it, i consider them better than english ones (i mean quality and jumping to where actions happen)
2013-04-09 17:53
I didn't enjoy the english stream at all, watched the Russian/Ukraine stream aswell :)
2013-04-09 19:13
iw atched russian stream
2013-04-09 19:17
Care. Russian stream was 100x better! Live camera, no lag and so on..
2013-04-09 19:32
No lag due to they have streamed the match like spectator and not like gotv user

Is it too difficult to understand that VP was clearly better? Have you watched the stream? Did you see NiP's faces? They were clearly disappointed not to be abble to play their A game. It was just a matter of time before other teams adapt to the new CS, VP is the first to reach their level that's all...
2013-04-09 17:18
+1. Too much thinking can kill you Mr. Thread starter ;)
2013-04-09 17:31
lol i know there is no way to prove this either way. I dont really think NIP threw the match. Just seemed like a funny possibility....
2013-04-09 17:20
I guess your theory could be 'proven' if NiP goes 187-1 now :D Would be sick... But I don't think that is even possible without some form of cheating.
2013-04-09 19:15
187-4 :D
2013-04-09 20:07
Virtus.pro was in better form than NiP, thats all

If you are serious, 1- You are dumb. 2- You are taking the credit away from the Russian guys. VP was better, period.
2013-04-09 17:32
VP was just better, get_right said just before the match that they wanted to win 3-0 and he was sure they would have won this. Stop giving credits to NIP when they lose, they got outplayed, it happens, end of.

I just noticed that he is from the US. Seems like the cold war will never end, and now expanded to HLTV.org :\
2013-04-09 18:02
Money was involved, hell no that happened, unless you want to go the extra mile and say HeatoN payed them :P
2013-04-09 18:08
They definitely were saving their strats for DH Summer
2013-04-09 18:19
This seems possible. NIP really seemed to be pugging it for alot of the rounds. It asnt until VP was up 13+ rounds that NIP started showing some real tactics it seemed. I dont really believe a team like NIP would throw a match tbqh, but I could def see them saving strats when the top prize is pretty low.
2013-04-09 19:03
if they did I guess they would have made either GTR or f0rest play worse and not let fifflaren take all the blame as usual.
2013-04-09 18:21
GTR and forest are both EXTREMELY competitive and dedicated players. i dont see them throwing away prize money
2013-04-09 18:25
you are even dumber than i originally thought, and that's saying something.

2013-04-09 18:25
Why would anybody even consider loosing for such a stupid reason? the only reason why somebody would lose on purpose is to get an easier opponent in the next round. Not to lose money and stop increasing the record they already build.

It would make more sense they would loose earlier on in the tourney or any tourney to keep there best tactics for the later rounds semi's/finals. Why would the team and org agree to travel to Ukraine to reach the final and then loose >< doesn't make sense for many of reasons. Interesting topic of discussion though.
2013-04-09 18:32
GeT_RiGhT didn't even cry after the loss, F0rest and Fifflaren were happy. I think this theory might be correct. Let's just see how it goes in their next encounter, if NiP wins, well then it's true. If they don't, they just suck.

I was thinking the same the other day. its riddiculous but... just imagine the revitalized interest in next big lan with virtus and nip. things like this happens daily in every other sports and trades. I cant proove shit, but I see nothing that make this claim farfetched or rare. just no proof. If it doesent helps nip, it atleast helps the entire scene in huge way. theres no doubt about that. having open mind and thinking a plausible scenario should not be looked down at. My other comment the other day got deleted, regardless that I clearly stated I was just playing with thougths making some loose speculations and lateral thinking, I think that should be allowed to be debated. I hope this thread dont get deleted and people stop being so damn naive and narrow minded.
2013-04-09 20:23
I don't think they did. There is always a possibility, but naah.. I think more for the case of saving strats, as mentioned. For whatever reason, it was definitely not their ordinary play shown. All their VP matches in this tourney were so damn odd. An interesting topic, which was expected to show up. But I vote no :)
2013-04-09 20:39
Did OP even watched a map of how VP played?
2013-04-09 20:41
I was thinking about the same, bet feels like a hardcore conspirancy theory.
2013-04-09 21:09
I think that NIP need to change somethink: or f0rest play 12hours a day deathmatch with AWP, or fifflaren play with awp and stay NIP mean awper, or change linup and a really good awper go to play with NIP , one of those 3 options, because NIP need a fixed awper and just him play with this gun, i mean all teams need that and in my opinion, fifflaren is a good awper , better than f0rest, f0rest is a aimer, a best cs aimer , is a waste of skill put f0rest with AWP
2013-04-09 21:06
you must be retarded or sth
2013-04-09 21:08
why u say that :s for now fiff should stay with awp because he play better than f0rest with awp, but he dont like to be a awper so i think that situation need change

Very likely actually. If they didn't the scene would never have grown as much as it has because it was just NiP and nobody else. Everyone know NiP is the best if they want to be.
