I kinda to disagree with school in Romania being harder. It's true, but it really depends what school are you in. Example:
I did in 9-10th grade IT and Maths subjects that my friends going to school in Romania started doing in 10th-11th grade. So basically a decent student in 9th grade in my school is more prepared that an 10th or even 11th grade romanian student.
Also, I have a lot more to study in subjects such as History, Literature and other crap than my buddies in Romania, which are in higher grades than me and also, a lot more homeworks.
I daily spend 6-7 hours in school starting from 8:00, while in Romania most of my friends (in higher grades) go to school from 10:00 to 13/14:00. Also they have a lot less marks than I have. I compared mine to them and I've got double or even triple in some subjects. They have got a break every hour of 10 minutes and after the 3rd hour they got a bigger one (15 minutes), for those who go to school from 8:00 ofc. I only got a 10 minutes break at 11:00.
It really depends in which school you go.
Anyway, both systems suck hard, in Italy they teach you a lot of unnecessary stuff that prolly you'll never use in your life, meanwhile in Romania you're not prepared enough at the end of High School because teachers suck and as you said people are fighting each other like animals.
