before it "died" ? 1.6 is as dead as it can be-.- still waiting for the cs go to die like every hater has said the past year. seems like a legit information with 3rd on steam most popular games. finally trolls can leave this "csgo deaded" shit talk

I wrote it with "" because a game can't really "die" :P People think about different things when they say "game X died". Sourcers were already coming to HLTV in 2010/11 and called CS 1.6 dead (though it was ten times bigger than CSS). That's why I wrote "deaded onepointsix", just pointing out how the haters called it although it still had 80k players and 70k viewers.
2013-08-19 22:17
and the 1st and 2nd are f2p games :) just imagine what number can csgo reach if it goes f2p too :)
2013-08-19 22:24
I think he just wanted to point out that it's growing.

Sure. And that's true. I'm just saying this needs to continue, because it still needs to grow a lot if CS wants to become a main title again.

what nice? no big tournaments and only one strong team and ~50% or more zero newbs csgo in the flesh: blowski.files.wordpress.com/2009/10/home.. gl girls
2013-08-19 22:25
yes because when cs was out 1 year there allredy were thousands of pro players and hundreds of 50k tournaments :) The sponsorship is all about the community..more players playing the game= more tournaments with more money

for such known name as counter-strike one year waiting it is too long
2013-08-19 22:31
I dont see why..I think valve is maybe slowly but building something here..go has the potential to beat 1.6 player numbers if valve make the right steps. Maybe they dont wanna fuck up what they built and they are making they steps carefully.

then vavle need make csgo f2p because f2p games most top LoL dota2 WoT have unreal player number i think it's only one way for this game
2013-08-19 22:47
im sure they will :)
2013-08-19 22:56
So, do you think that the CS:GO community is growing from zero? Didn't you realized that, the majority (at least 80%) of the players came from 1.6 and CSS? Also, yes, just a few months after the releasement of 1.6, we saw the CPL Winter 2003, with great prizes and tons of topteams from all over the world. Not only that, on the next years we saw even bigger prizes. GO is just not meant to be a competitive 5v5, even Valve said it. Their actions also show this, it's a casual, 4fun game. Look at how much effort they are putting on 'Arms Race' updates.
2013-08-19 23:03
arms race its just a name for the update ! the whole "skins" thing etc ... lel
2013-08-19 23:15
Yes they was building csgo nearly from 0. Why? because 95% of cs community was thinking cs1.6 the best game ever no game could ever beat it. And they are talking shit about go every day, since it was released and destroying the small go community, without giving a chance to the new game. The cs community is fucked up..they dont want to try nothing new, because they are good at 1 game and everithing what differs from it is bullshit for them. Now you are talking about 1.6 and 2003 cpl..exuse me but 1.6 means the version of the game... it took 3 years from official release to get the 1.6 version. GO has a big potential to be the biggest cs title ever because it can connect the 1.6, css and even the cod community
2013-08-19 23:27
We really think different. In my opinion, GO has ZERO potential to be the biggest cs title ever. People say shit about GO not because it's different of 1.6, but because it's actually worse overall, it's a downgrade in most of the points, only graphics are a true, undeniable upgrade. The gameplay annoys me a lot, the skins and movementation too. What about the sounds? Holy crap, I barely can watch streams of this game. But, I can talk and have discussions like a normal person, I won't say "it's a total bullshit lololol" like most of the guys do. And, let's be realistic: GO is never going to connect the 1.6, CSS and CoD community. At least here in Brazil, the 1.6ers are much more focused on LoL and Dota, a lot of CSSers are playing GO, and the CoD guys are still playing CoD.
2013-08-20 03:53
Yes go has some anoying things wich has to be fixed.I didn't said go is better, It's diffrent. And as Isaid go has a potential but valve must do the right steps. At the begining everything was strange to me but after a while I used to it and now I enjoy the game. Sometimes I go mad about a few thongs like the adad and the running sprayers with p90 but it can be fixed. I really hope go will succeed because this game is the only hope of the cs and the competitive fps scene
2013-08-20 07:58
CPL winter 2001 1st prize was 50k to NiP...13 months after version 1.0
2013-08-20 08:16
I'm sure the players will get more because of the new tournament we have, MSI BEAT IT. Could become a major tournament if they add South America to the qualifiers and improve the price pool for the finals.

nope, unless if we are able to join the middle eastern qualifier
2013-08-20 18:12
Well, i'm sure it will decrease a some weeks, still its pretty good numbers and VALVe is actually doing a good job, sure theres things really important that need to be fixed but at least they are updating it, the first CS wasn't made in a couple of months too. With the economy system implemented in the game now players can win some cents and buy some indie games on steam sales, not bad at all!

DotA 482k ~>NiCe<~
2013-08-19 22:31
The number of players definetely increased. But the low number of tournaments and the super low prizes are still there.
2013-08-19 22:32
thats why we have esports case :) and more players more sponsors will be interested investing in the game
2013-08-19 22:36
esea lan just gave $20k for first place
2013-08-19 23:06
I reckon it will boost after this MSI tournament. Will have more Asian exposure i'm sure. Especially with it being basically hosted by fnatic (through msi)
2013-08-19 23:10
Valve could put some cash to Fnatic's tournament :P
2013-08-20 00:00
Could but i doubt it
2013-08-20 00:01
Well they will put those case moneys to DH atleast, but could put bit to this too :O
