Getting education is one thing, getting proper education is another for them... sadly

Maybe that was written in a book of fairytales

This is the truth! Wake up sheeple! India has it right. Everything we've been taught is a lie!
2014-02-25 14:17
Well, Im also familiar with some Russian textbooks which say that USSR didnt commit genocide. People wanted to go Siberia...
Also huge percent of Japan thinks that instead of USA, USSR dropped nuclear weapons to them.
2014-02-25 14:35
and denmark started second world war.
2014-02-25 14:47

ahhahaha that is india xD

Japan nuked 'by' US
Mahatma Gandhi was killed on 15-'01'-1948 instead of 15-10-1948
CO3 instead of CO2.
All of these can be just typing mistakes. And still the book served only 50000 students out of tens of millions of students in that age group. And it made it to BBC. I guess this is what most Europeans wanna hear and so is what their media feeds them.
2014-02-25 20:09
well similar thing happens in our country
2014-02-25 21:19
nobody should of nuked anynody
even Einstein was disgusted when he heard the americans dropped the bombs, he only wanted them to make it as a last resort vs germany, not nuke japan
2014-02-25 21:19
Indian education 2stronk for real facts.
2014-02-25 21:43
Wow, this thread has gone wildly off course.
2014-02-25 21:49
While it's unfortunate that the textbook in question is so full of glaring flaws, the good news is that those teaching the textbook (and presumably a large portion of the students using the textbook) realize this and are, most likely, teaching correctly.
2014-02-25 23:20
only the winner writes history, thats why the world is full of murican propaganda, those fucks have been controlling the media for DECADES.
2014-02-26 07:22
Whats the big deal? It's just a typo!
Ffs BBC news find a better topic to feed your viewers!

This Is a Book from A particular state and not the whole country. We Learnt perfectly what happened. But still its a Shame that there are so many errors in a textbooks through which millions of people from the region read.
2014-02-26 12:27
lol @ at all you tools solely fixating on the screwed up 'Japan nuked the US' and seguing from that into anti-USA ranting. Your raging nationalistic inferiority complex is showing, you fucking dorks.
Read the goddamn article. Practice some literacy for once. The textbooks are getting all kinds of facts wrong, in such a broad spectrum that it's obvious there's no agenda at play. Some extremely incompetent, lowest-bid winning textbook author in India simply wrote a bunch of nonsense.
2014-02-26 12:54
Oh and btw, the US choosing to drop the A-bombs on Japan actually saved millions of lives.
Why? How?
Simple.
The alternative to dropping the bombs was a full-scale land invasion of Japan.
Fun Fact: Japan's government was training battalions of CHILDREN to strap explosives to their bodies and roll underneath US tanks in preparation for the invasion.
The point here is that Japan wasn't going to surrender. They were going to fight literally to the last man, woman, and child if the US had invaded. De facto genocide would've resulted.
However, dropping the A-bombs was a way to take away Japan's resolve to fight. It convinced them in a way a land invasion never would have that there was no hope, no glory in continued resistance.

And then you wonder why they create such bullshit topics around here :D
Also, it is super fun to observe those war discussions around here. Everyone is just picking up sides and blame the other counterpart for war crimes and who has done worse shit. Kindergarden.

this thread gave me cancer
2014-02-26 16:59
sad.. the worst thing is that this is not even the worst there is :(
2014-02-26 17:55
LOL, it's funny what this topic was and what it transitioned into.

in the first 2 years of WW2,before Hitler break the Ribbendrop-Molotov pact and trade-credit pact, Soviet Union was the No1 trader with Nazi Germany and in many industrial materials the only one. Nazi took enormous amounts of ships, vehicles ,crude oil, cotton, grains, iron ore, iron cast, rubber and many other materials essential to built a military machine. They co-oped in know-how for concentration camps,Gestapo co trained with NKVD. NKVD gave to Gestapo hundreds of thousands of Soviet Jew citizens and many more.
Then Hitler broke the treaty and started a war with ideological base, because of his anti-bolsevism rage, too early.Stalin found a good chance to expand his geostrategic plans earlier..
Hitler was not bigger criminal than Stalin, Hirohito or Churchil. They were all same. But winners write history.
for example during Axis Occupation of Greece 1941-1944, died 400.000 Greeks from hunger. Today almost nobody Greek knows that the Famine was caused by the democratic British Royal Navy which established sea blockade in Greece and ships from international orgs such as Red Cross couldnt send their food and medical supplies.
