Doubtful that their configs include the screen resolution used. More likely their Wire files (screenshots mainly) should provide that information.

You will find mainly snipers using high resolutions (1024x768) as the crosshair is more accurate that way if I am not mistaken. As for what is better or worse, 1) personal preference and 2) the lower the resolution the higher the refresh rate (Hz) the monitor is more likely to offer you.

The one I can recall right now is Sunde I think. Note though that there are too snipers that use lower resolutions. Thus personal preference is to be taken into account, as said.

hehe ad. i think that's too high resolution. Most of the pro players (assaulter) play on 640x480 because bullet spray is easy to watch and u can control accordingly. And the pro awpers generally play on 800x600 except some ( markeloff, walle , delpan play on 640x480). I haven't heard any pro player playing on 1024x768. Moreover lower is the res. less is the quality of graphics but higher would be the graphics performance :) I myself play on 640x480

FYRR73 and frod were playing @1024 but now both of them are playing on 640x480...for me 800x600 is the best right now,i used to play on 640x480-large because models and crosshairs are large and it's very easy to hit...then i changed to 800x600-large and there's no diference in shooting,and textures and stuff are nicer....so i suggest you to go for 8x6 or 6x4...there is a reason why people aren't playing on 1024 and you will realize that if you change it. maybe that's why you can't find any player actualy playing on that resolution ;)

640 is smooth... you will be able spray so smoothly... your recoil will be better... try using large crosshair with that... it is a lethal srpaying combo with good lan-like ping... although sinpers don't prefer it.. but delapn uses it and walle also so that says it all... preference 800.. this is both for rifling and awping... the vision is a lot clearer but not as smooth as 640*480.. but it is balanced so the best option maybe... 1024... it is mainly for awping.. clear view but the recoil control is not as good... lex used it in his prime as well as frod... frod had horrible rifles while lex was good with them.... if you play on lan like ping all the time then sure go for it... but if you only play online with 30+ ping then don't even go for it... 800 is also good for awp go with that... i use 640*480... and i am an awper... 800 is clearer but 640 feels so smooth and i love it..

use 640 on fullscreen , in ur graphic card setting DONT use 4:3 scaling . and obviously u need to have a widescreen monitor.

I have a laptop with widescreen .If I set 640 on widescreen it will deform ( radar will not be round but ellipse )it because its ment to be used in 4:3 ratio . For it to be normal It would have to crop a part of screen ( left and right ) to get the 16:9 to 4:3....But CS never to that .

i would say 640x480 800x600 and 1024x768 are all suitable CS resolutions, anything other than these 3, and you are considered different.

i have some problems with my resolutions, 640*480 in my TFT...CS works well @1024 or higher res. but at lower resolutions, the textures are pathetic, walls are all kinda broken up, almost flowing as i walk past them...dunno wht to do...i've tried everything with my gfx card as far as i know....but no results... i have nVIDIA 9400GT....suggest some solution....

well anything under 1024 is gonna look blocky and choppy.. and i assume when u mean "walls are broken up" thats prob due to the monitor tearing from having ur v-sync off. nohting u can do about it really..
