Yeah, can't imagine not seeing Torqued get to Pro League. MDL had strong teams with Torqued, Swole and eUnited, this will be over for Dignitas (and anyway they will finish 14th but even if they had to play one of those teams it wouldn't look good for them, don't know how a team like Ghost would be against those MDL teams).

 |
United States koyoCSGO
Ghost got 0-2'd by a mix MDL team of Etherian players and some free agents. Ghost have a ways to go but right now, its just not good. Other good NA MDL teams that had a chance to be as strong as Torqued but decided to disband because good NA MDL teams can only ever last a maximum of 3 months (which is why NA MDL will forever be weaker than EU MDL) are ex-Iceberg, Etherian, and Atmosphere

I watched a LAN choke from Etherian vs 3 guys from eUnited and 2 others players (hope i remember it correctly) on a BO5 final. Otherwise they seemed pretty fine. I was hoping RONIN (for xp3 mainly) to do better but yeah it seemed impossible to get to top 3 of MDL on the playoffs. EDIT : 2-0 and 10-6 iirc (9-6 and Etherian won the second pistol on Mirage before losing to force, lose the map and lose 2-3 the LAN.)

It was very bad but it happens. What good EU teams do is they take those crazy losses and learn from them. It feels like NA teams just break apart. There are 5+ EU MDL teams that have been together for 1 year. There are 0 NA MDL teams that have been together for 1 year, let alone longer than 6 months

Yeah for a guy watching EU and NA games (i watch a fair amount of NA CS but not as much as EU because of schedule obviously but not many NA MDL games), NA MDL teams are quite unknown whereas you have lots of famous names on EU MDL.

Thats why teams like Swole, eUnited, and Torqued have such strong potential vs EU teams imo. Swole are the longest lasting NA MDL team that have been together since Dec 2017, longer than Torqued who got together by like Jan 2018 or something. Swole have great players. They just need to stick out the hardships. I felt great when I watched Swole take GODSENT to the very edge. It felt refreshing to see an NA MDL team taking a fight to an EU MDL team on LAN. If they keep their 5, they will only get better. One day, we might see Swole in ECS.

Thank you, just saw the 16-14 Godsent Swole gamepage. I wanted to see some NA teams to upset on that WESG event but missed that score (also wanted some asian teams to do well, MVP did pretty fine, but i was sad for the french guys of Limitless losing to a weak team but Limitless had to play with their coach.) I feel like freakazoid is a great leader for these guys, he shows them the way with his experience and they have good potential (even though i often hear that Silent isn't really good, i have never thought that, but maybe i only saw him on his good games, i remember his huge spray control vs NV when he was on NRG hltv.org/matches/2301440/envyus-vs-nrg-c.. ) EDIT : and i feel like those Swole Patrol don't overrush things, they take things step by step, learn experience (like they did at WESG) and don't instantly see themselves as GODS that have mastered the game because they started to have success.

Silent might not be good for a pro team or a third best pro team but he already has alot of time with Swole and from the demos I study, hes very flexible. He and Cooper take turns using the AWP and rifling, and both players are very good at using both weapons. Swole has a lot of versatility in this regard, with Silent not being a jdm type of guy who is only useful with the awp

Yeah and last week they already struggled to get the 1-1 vs Cloud9 for example (8-16 16-14) whereas a few weeks before it feels like they would have had the 2-0 fairly easily (like 32-20 or 32-22 or something).

This. + the team with 5 alive might have some low HP vs 300HP for the 3 players team, 5 alive might only have pistols vs rifles and lots of nades for the 3 remaining players. Losing 5v3 can happen multiple times in a game without making big mistakes.

If you're surprised by the result, it's not because NRG are bad, NRG are at the top of their level, it's because of these reasons : => ECS Season 5 finals happening 3 days before Belo Horizonte so think about the players having to travel from the UK to Brazil in 3 days without rest. => 200k$ prize pool => No offense but most tier 1 NA players that have other LAN choices prefer not to go to Brazil at all for safety reasons.

Steel really getting back to his best these days, looking really good.
2018-04-14 01:35
If he was able to, I'd love to see him on C9 in place of FNS, hard to say who's a better IGL (they play at different levels) but steel is definitely the better player. I feel steel is most likely on par though with FNS as an IGL.

I love torqued. Pollo, AZR, swag a lil while better shooting and we have na top 1-2 btw :)

Steel is definitely better. When they used to stream their matches, he really seems to know what he's doing, really calm and also let the players free to do what they want in many situations.
2018-04-14 03:24
Better player? that's obvious. Better IGL? debatable, steel possibly could be because he's lead with talent similar to C9 (compared to FNS) and FNS never has until now, but FNS has improved C9 ever since he joined, barring a few really dumb matches with silly ass moments that they had no reason to make but did it anyway, outside of that, they've been fairly solid, with little work from his part. Remember, he barely joined on the 3rd. He improved tarik by taking IGL, improved RUSH and Ska, and tim is tim.
