Don't have an 'official's statement but I've spoken to one of the bvd players and that is their plan :p
2018-11-30 21:09

Why waste money on academy team if the main team is fairly irrelevant internationally? wtf
2018-12-04 04:00
more teams = more sponsors's money
2018-12-05 15:11
because they probably spend 0 money on this academy team, they give free publicity and if one of them turns out to be good they're signed to the org so they can use him or sell off
2018-12-07 21:47
Exactly this Small teams are happy to player under known orgs and mostly do it for free

Agreed, it happens, to everyone. For example, look at FaZe, #1 ranked in the world at a time and now they lose to teams that shouldn't even have made it to pro league. Inconsistency is a bitch.

typical pro cs xD Only Astralis can stay at top1 without loses
2018-12-08 18:32
It's worth to bet on academy tbh. Sure bravado is a favorite here, but upset is possible because bravado is not top team. Their last Lan run is overhyped 100%

explain to me how its overhyped ? the guys were ranked 128th in feb and now 27th, beat luminosity rogue intz to qualify (all esl pro league teams) , then beat 14th placed optic and 20th placed G2 and thrashed extence in their 2nd lan tourni of the year, not only was it their 2nd land tourni of the year but it was dreamhack, where they played against that were waaay superior to them in ranking and exp.

And they domintaed the SA scene before the NA Adventure. So ez for Bravado vs all the teams in South Africa.
2018-12-08 15:45
bvd are very inconsistent and the way they win rounds is not one where they will have a lot of money for the next rounds and so they money fuck themselves too much +they lose to teams they shouldnt lose to a lot of the time and beat good teams on other weeks
2018-12-08 17:25
easy for the team that is clearly superior to g2
