I don't know if the organizers even know themselves what their logic is. Why have north, south or central europe in the tournament name if you are gonna invite teams from complete opposite sides of the continent Xd I don't remember Kazakhstan being central european country either lol

tbh these tourneys could help solidify and create scenes in countries without one, like for ex italy greece and etc, and fortify scenes like balkans spain and portugal, but they prefer to invite teams from north europe to their south europe tourney lol

Yeah I think also the direct playoff invites are the worst I guess it brings attention to the event from some random more popular teams. Playoff teams usually are just way too good for competition or just lose on the first round. If the tournament had 16 teams you could easily find them from the right region. Should have much more qualifier spots and chances for countries with smaller scenes. Rn almost all the teams are just randomly invited when only 4 out of 24 come from closed qualifier where also only 4 out of 16 came through open qualifier. I have no idea why they directly invited Ungentium who are ranked 180 and from Poland to the North Europe series even though they just finished last place in the qualifier to the previous central europe one :D

Yep I also saw that. I really want to see in the future a real ladder, where you have regional open qualifiers for half the spots of a regional tournament, the rest being invited but still a part of the region, then like half or 1/4 of the best in that regional cup would be directly invited to the european championship, in which the playoffs would feature good tier 2 teams, in which the better teams would get to play with tier 1.5 down the road in another tournament. and by "better teams" I don't mean on paper, I mean on that specific tournament. so if a random mix from Greece gets top 4 on the regional south tournament, they should be qualified to the european one.
