ESL change their format apparently every season, it isn't known yet if the winners of regional leagues get direct invites to conference or just to a play-in (or if some get invited to the main event and others to a play-in), so if it's the case that the regional leagues don't give direct spots in the main event, saw would take the challenger league spot to the main event instead of a regional league spot to a play-in or something like that
