Fair point but still it used to be something unique people wanted to watch, mainly on the major etc. Currently it's too often and basically the same players are playing there over and over again
Too often, for the viewers at home, i can see your point in that.
But for the attending crowd it can be a decent way to get the mood going before the final match and it also provide some showtime, so crowd would have had some entertainment, even if the final in worst case is a 1hr 2map stomp.
I don't recall which tournament but does anyone remember the showmatch where astralis played with 2 players against 5 from the crowd on d2? Then as the crowd members won rounds astralis would gain another player
Because one Bo3 isn't worth the price of admission...or the venue rental.
When they start offering some legit prize money, it will eventually convert to a 3rd Place Decider.
Personally though...I love showmatches. Lol.
I haven't seen this one. But the one from Paris was great. I dare to say it might have been more spectacular than the final that was played afterwards.
Its a BLAST thing to do at their events. I did find the USA tryharding a bit of a letdown but the wacky round modifiers are always pretty funny to watch.
This match was cool with Mauisnake, launders and scrawny playing tho
