ESC has defeated logiX 16-8 after three hours, mostly consisting of waiting due to issues with the tournament computers and restoring money. 3DMAX lost against TCM-Gaming 13-16, over two hours ago.
ESC Gaming started their second group stage with a strong opening half versus the Germans of logiX. Despite losing the fourth round, ESC quickly won the fifth, forcing the Germans, who had lost the pistol round as well, to save once more.
logiX were never able to overcome the Poles' money control in the match, always losing a round and being forced to save right after winning one. After trailing 2-9, They managed to trade last two, settling for an acceptable 4-11 halftime score.
Second half, this time as counter-terrorists on de_dust2_se, didn't start so well for ESC. After losing the first three rounds, a double kill round by both Wiktor "TaZ" Wojtas and Mariusz "Loord" Cybulski made it 12-7.
ESC made it 14-7 after some PC issues, but were forced to pause the game once more after the next round, this time for over an hour. Ultimately, ESC Gaming were able to come out ahead, 16-8.
3DMAX were also off to a strong start in their match, as they quickly jumped up to a convincing 9-3 lead as counter-terrorists. TCM-Gaming were able to sneak back into it at the end though, cutting their deficit to 5-10.
In the second half TCM won six straight before losing a round which tied the game at eleven, and quickly recovered by winning the next one and forcing 3DMAX on a weak buy round.
The Slovakian based team would never be able to recover, as TCM-Gaming won their sixteenth round by stopping a bombsite B attack, putting 3DMAX in a tough spot if they wish to advance to the playoffs.
Next round in the second group stage's B group will pit ESC Gaming up against 3DMAX, while logiX will take on TCM-Gaming. Both matches are expected to go live after a quick break.
