April 21st, 2013 21:29

Netcode Illuminati have topped the Counter-Strike 1.6 tournament at ESEA Invite Season 13 finals by defeating mouseSpaz 2-0 (16-14 de_dust2, 16-3 de_train).

NCI were the heavy favorites going into possibly the final Counter-Strike 1.6 tournament with the likes of Jordan "n0thing" Gilbert and Filip "Neo" Kubski on the squad's roster.

They started the grand final versus Ricky "sLip" Cohen's mSpaz on de_dust2 where after jumping up to a 3-0 lead they fell behind and found themselves trailing 4-11 at half.

The favorites also lost the terrorist side pistol round, but then clawed their way back into the game and were able to overcome the team led by Arjun "bN" Gill with a 16-14 score.

After switching to de_train mSpaz struggled as they weren't able to overcome NCI's defense led by Filip "Neo" Kubski's M4A1 and Tomi "lurppis" Kovanen's AWP and lost the final 3-16.

God damn it. I have already suggested this before on multiple occasions - we need a different banner for different games in the Hot Matches section. I keep missing out on those rare 1.6 games.

i don't play cs 1.6 actively anymore either though, i had maybe 6-7 hours played in the last two months :p
2013-04-22 01:09
but you don't play cs;go either, its harder to play cs 1.6 for players like neo or nothing after their cs;go games
2013-04-22 01:12
no doubt about that, was just pointing out that it's not like i still play cs all the time... if only there were tournaments!
