mousesports have announced that they picked up Fatih "gob b" Dayik for the upcoming LAN finals of the ESL Pro Series Spring 2013.
The Turkish veteran will be filling in for Dimitrios "stavros" Smoilis, who confirmed earlier on Monday to HLTV.org that he had left the team over outstanding money owed to him and a fractious relationship with the remaining players.
Dayik, who was part of the mouz team who won both an European and a World IEM Championship, has been inactive since the German organised closed down their CS 1.6 division in March 2012.
He made a short-lived comeback in September with a CS:GO team called zuom, an anagram of mouz, in the German ESWC qualifier, in which they were sent packing in the quarter-finals following a 2-0 defeat to GAMED!DE.
Despite being the brain behind mouz's highly-successful team, Dayik will not be involved in calling the strategies as Andre "nooky" Utesch will remain the captain and ingame leader.
"First of all I would like to thank mousesports and all sponsors BenQ, GeIL, Razer & Thortech, for giving me the chance to compete in the ESL Pro Series Finals once again, despite my lack of practice in CS:GO," he told mouz's website.
"I won't be at 100% of my capabilities aiming wise, but I'll try to make up for it with my experience to help the team as much as possible. I'm also aware of the fact that I simply cannot follow in the giant footsteps of Michele. I will only act as a stand-in and I'm not planning to compete professionally after the EPS Finals.
"Now I'm just looking forward to meeting the boys again! Everyone is highly motivated and we hope to get your support during the EPS Finals. Last time I did not see that many mouz fans, which made me sad.
"I hope it changes this time and we will see another team winning the title in the end (preferably us). Looking forward to three weeks of fun, friendship and success!"
mousesports will tackle the winner of the match between dotpiXels and DRUCKWELLE in the semi-finals of the EPS Finals, which will take place at the ESL's TV studio in Cologne on May 11th.
The German team will attend the event with the following roster:
Finn "karrigan" Andersen
Manuel "approx" Zeitz
Tobias "Troubley" Tabbert
Andre "nooky" Utesch
Fatih "gob b" Dayik
