FACEIT has announced that it will be hosting monthly CS:GO tournaments with top teams from all over Europe and a prize pool of $1,500.
Starting in May, FACEIT will be organising each month an online tournament with 16 teams and a prize purse totalling $1,500.
Eight of those 16 teams will be directly invited by FACEIT, while the remaining sides will come from the weekly Saturday $100 cups that it organises. The top two teams from each of these cups will qualify for the big tournament.
Natus Vincere and Virtus.pro are the first two invited teams for the first monthly cup, which will be played on May 30th, with the remaining six teams due to be revealed during the course of the coming weeks, two by two.
"Since the launch we have gathered a lot of feedback from top players, teams and community figure heads," Roald van Buuren, Vice President of Marketing for FACE IT said.
"We noticed that it was hard to put on a show for spectators every Saturday due to conflicting major LAN events. On the other hand, we did provide a great platform for the semi-professional teams to play in for fun and glory.
"In order to keep the platform for the sub-top teams we will keep the Saturday Cups, but with a smaller prize purse. This way we can put our budget into a larger tournament every month, where we can have the top teams on display, but also the sub-top teams who qualified will have a chance to show their skill here.
"We also hope to see more and more teams and players trying out our Pick up Games system. A lot of our users have been testing it over the last few weeks and we feel it is ready to be fully utilized by all our users, and hopefully new users!"
The Grand Finals will be casted in English by Daniel "ddk" Kapadia, who will be joined by special guests each month.
Virtus.pro and Natus Vincere were both seen for the last time at the SLTV StarSeries finals, where the Russian side ran out victorious after defeating Ninjas in Pyjamas, while the Ukrainian giants came in third.
