NiP beat LDLC to win EMS Cup #3

MIRAA
May 30th, 2013 00:01

Ninjas in Pyjamas won the third cup of RaidCall EMS One Summer following a 2-0 victory over LDLC.com in the grand final (16-7 on de_nuke_se, 16-6 on de_mirage_go).

The second day of this EMS One Cup started out with two mouth-watering semi-final clashes taking place, including what has certainly become a classic in the game, as Ninjas in Pyjamas took on VeryGames.

The French side have struggled in recent times as Richard "shoxie" Papillon is settling in, and despite giving a good account of themselves earlier in the tournament, with victories against Virtus.pro and Absolute Legends, they fell short against NiP, losing the match with a 21-18 scoreline.

On the other half of the bracket, LDLC.com, fresh off defeating VeryGames in the MFJV #2 final, were made to work hard to beat Natus Vincere, who are done playing with Denis "seized" Kostin as a stand-in, disposing of the Ukrainians only in overtime (21-18).

Fifflaren put in great display on mirage

The grand final ended up being a little bit less entertaining, though, as NiP were the dominant side for most of the game. But on de_nuke_se, it was actually LDLC.com who started out the brighter, winning the opening two rounds of the game. NiP responded right after and levelled the game on two rounds, but LDLC - who were playing on the CT side - broke the Swedes' momentum and took the scoreline to 6-2.

When everyone was expecting LDLC to further stamp their authority on the game, NiP picked themselves up and controlled the tempo for the remainder of the first half, going into the break up 8-7.

If things were looking bad for the Frenchmen, they got even worse in the second half, as NiP won the pistol round to enlarge their lead. As Terrorists, LDLC could do nothing to bother the Swedish team, who comfortably ran out 16-7 victors to take the lead in the game.

On de_mirage_go, it was NiP's time to claim bragging rights first, as the Swedish team strolled to an early 3-0 lead after comfortably stopping LDLC's rush onto the A site in the pistol round.

LDLC then reduced the deficit to 3-2, but NiP regained control of the match immediately after and went on to pick up a commanding 10-5 lead at the break. Without too much surprise, the ESWC champions came out strongly in the second half and conceded just one round on the Terrorist side as they posted a 16-6 success that puts them at the top of the RaidCall EMS One rankings.

that is up to anyones opinion as you can see from the stats they were pretty much equal this match. 0.01 rating higher for fiff, and f0rest +4 k/d +/- on fiff, and also a higher % of headshots despite using the awp just as much or even more than Robin I think the important clutch rounds at key moments in the VG match gave him the edge, because forest had just as many big rounds but more of them in less important moments I guess. although his 2 pistol kills in that eco win on VG were huge

The fourth cup will take place next Tuesday and Wednesday, as usual! More info on csgo.raidcall-emsone.com (or here on HLTV.org, of course!). Our fourth season will be in Winter. Sometime around the end of the year.

LDLC is really impressive. They will easily overtake VG as the 2nd best team. Good work to them! Even if it isn't on LAN, it's still significant..

2013-05-31 04:49
u mad ?
2013-05-31 05:32
Looks like you are. The guy meant, VG are top 2 *in the world*, Just read the fuckin #77
2013-05-31 05:33
I obviously meant they WERE. WERE is past tense. No one who has followed the scene can even deny that. Roster changes is what made them do worse. You need reading comprehension.
2013-05-31 05:40
VG were considered 2nd best under NiP for awhile until teams started catching up. Not sure what scene you're paying attention to. Look at LAN results in the first 8 months of CSGO's life. I meant everything in my post.
2013-05-30 20:14
Lol, You are still living in 2012 with Rpk and KennyS on the lineup.
2013-05-31 05:35
So? They were still the dominate team under NiP. It wasn't until recently that teams have been catching up to them. Releasing kennyS for shoxie was bad and I've openly said that in many threads. Still doesn't change that VG was 2nd best (yes in the world) for a decent amount of time. OBVIOUSLY they are not 2nd best anymore. I'd say they're around 4-6th best atm.
2013-05-31 05:42
"LDLC is really impressive. They will easily overtake VG as the 2nd best team. Good work to them!" And DAFUQ did you mean by this?
2013-05-31 05:43
I meant they WERE the 2nd best. I don't think they've been 2nd best for at least 2 months now. Sorry for the misunderstanding.
2013-05-31 05:44
"will easily overtake VG as the 2nd best " Only a fuckin "were" is missing in the whole statement? Why don't you commit your mistake now?
2013-05-31 05:45
I just did.. :| "I meant they WERE the 2nd best. I don't think they've been 2nd best for at least 2 months now. Sorry for the misunderstanding." Besides I thought it was pretty obvious that I meant that I meant "were" in the first place, but I guess inferring is hard online. Quit being so damn hostile over nothing. I clearly don't think they're 2nd best AT THE MOMENT. you're just being petty.
2013-05-31 05:49

2013-05-30 08:20
They wanna beat them badly, and always seemed to have the right potential to do so, fair enough.

There is just something about these matches because they from the start of GO were proclaimed to be like El Classico. But it is still some close matches and ya because VG want to beat them so badly. I agree that NiP is just much stronger but when Manchester United and Liverpool face each other it is a huge match because of their history, it's like the same about vg and nip :)
2013-05-30 09:23
VG dont seem to care for cs go like they do in css.. its just about practice...they pracc tactics but forgot about their own game they didnt improve individualy much...but they seemed to improving late in the game so their time to shine will eventualy come just i hope that they will stick with this line up im just tired of seeing them change players like socks...for exeption for Rpk who is retired now...rivalry between VG and Nip is the biggest in all teams..but every team has its nemesis..VG has Nip...and Nip has VP.

They're good enough to take NiP into double overtime. They certainly looked far more likely to win than LDLC ever did (and I really like LDLC). Also SmithZz is better than Kenny. He's been solid the last few games, top fragged comfortably against VP and played great against NiP (shoxie was weak though). These games are a big deal as they're one of a handful of teams who regularly create close games with NiP. And it obviously is a big rivalry, they've played more high level matches (finals, semis etc) against each other than any other two teams by miles and miles.
2013-05-30 12:14
Lol poor VeryGames :D let's see what will you do after Kenny's out
2013-05-30 10:25
??? LDLC are in finals cos theyv played against noobs navi (dont try even argue with that navi are shit and few online lucky matches means shit). VG played OT against NIP. LDLC didnt get as much rounds as VG against NiP in two maps lol. And funny thing that Smithzz after taking awp role looks more consistent than kennys ever was :D
2013-05-30 17:55
are you dumb?ldlc beat vg 3 times already(in a bo3 and in a bo1) and navi went overtime against them, fucking random talking bullshit
2013-05-30 20:15
And what LDLC and navi achieved apart from online ? Ye lets base everything on online and if the teams fail at LAN who cares coz they have good online results. ROFL
