Virtus.pro sign GuardiaN

June 2nd, 2013 23:31

Virtus.pro have announced that they have added Ladislav "GuardiaN" Kovács to their team on a permanent basis.

The Slovakian startet had been playing for Virtus.pro as a stand-in in recent days after Dauren "AdreN" Kystaubayev had some problems with his computer.

It was expected that Kovács would play for the Russian side only in the RaidCall EMS One Cup #3, but after his services were also needed in FACEIT's $1,500 Cup, it was suspected that a permanent move could be in the pipeline.

Fox and AdreN with the third place check

AdreN leaves active roster over personal issues

Virtus.pro have now completed the signing of the former 3DMAX ace as Dauren "AdreN" Kystaubayev has stepped down from the team's active lineup.

"Hi everyone! This is not a joyous day for me," Kystaubayev told Virtus.pro's website. "Today, I decided to leave Virtus.pro. I'm sorry I could not stay, but I would like to thank VP, all the staff and our fans, who helped me to achieve one of the goals I most wanted.

"I would also like to thank my teammates, who understood my decision and supported it.

"I would like to apologise to all those who are disappointed, but I am sure the guys will play as well as they did. I wish GuardiaN the best of luck, he is a good replacement."

The move brings an end to speculation about Kovács future, with the Slovakian ace having recently hinted that he could retire from gaming after his TCM-Gaming team were left in shock following Richard "shoxie" Papillon's decision to join VeryGames.

Kovács will add a lot of firepower to Virtus.pro: he has the third highest rating in CS:GO, only falling behind Ninjas in Pyjamas duo Christopher "GeT_RiGhT" Alesund and Patrik "f0rest" Lindberg.

Virtus.pro now have the following lineup:

Russia Mihail "Dosia" Stolyarov
Russia Sergey "Fox" Stolyarov
Ukraine Emil "kucher" Akhundov
Ukraine Kiril "ANGE1" Karasiow
Slovakia Ladislav "GuardiaN" Kovács

Teams always refer to "personal issues" when a player is cut.
2013-06-03 02:56
This time it's about "personal issues". He wanted to go to asian cyber games with kazakh team to play Alliance of Valiant Arms (no idea what the hell it is) tournament while he should be bootcamping with the rest of the team in order to prepare for EMS, ESEA and DH. He didn't even want to talk about this, he just bought the tickets to this crappy torunament and ignored VP.
2013-06-03 08:11
Alliance of Valiant Arms is one of the "CS clones". Pretty much similar game. It's not bad but it's not CS.

great move, they might become a top3 team now :)
2013-06-02 23:31
they were top2 with AdreN -.-
2013-06-02 23:32
yeah, right. placed 1st on a random lan at home ground which only had 3 other teams and became a top2 team. i really really hope you're trolling.
2013-06-02 23:34
they beat nip ON LAN. whats your point ?
2013-06-02 23:36
wow they beat nip at homeground at one lan so they must be a top2 team. lol
2013-06-02 23:37
if you were following the scene at least a little then you know that at that time they were top2 (actually those 2 teams were far ahead of others) and they were the only team who could beat nip at that time. they beat them 4-0 in maps and from that point on i dont think they have really practiced that much
2013-06-03 00:00
yeah they were so far ahead of the others they played 2:2 in maps with WW @ CPH LOL

i'm confused. who would you say is a top 2 team then? VeryGames? Western Wolves? VP (with AdreN) has beaten NiP a decent number of times online and on LAN (in single map and bo3 formats), something that VeryGames and Western Wolves have yet to achieve. If NiP is the #1 team, then there has to be at least one #2 team. Who do you think that is if not VP?
2013-06-03 06:38
ye and ww smacked nip 16-2 recently. ww also beat VP a number of times now. My current top 5 1.Nip 2.WW/VP 3.VP/WW 4.LDLC 5.CPHW
2013-06-03 10:08
VP top 2 with no trophy and cant win VG which are like 6-10 in your list...seems legit
2013-06-03 11:26
VG switched out kennyS for shoxie, but lost to LDLC, where kenny is now. CPHW has a stronger lineup according to profile history. Fetish, wantz and cajun all know eachother very very good from source, now with dupreeh and device they are insane. They beat WW and, if I recall correctly, also NiP. An achievement VG has never made.
2013-06-03 11:54
never said anything about CPH wolves which im fan of also go to my profile..you have your cards missmatched i said about VP position.
2013-06-03 12:17
I thought you were confused of my decision, by not putting VG anywhere in my current top 5. But ok
2013-06-03 13:04
im a VG fan but i can say that they are not top5 in the moment.
2013-06-03 16:19
why should there be a top2 team? there's no team that's pissing on everyone else like NiP. there's NiP, and then there are top6 teams, each capable of beating each other. VG VP and WW definitely belong to top6, and the last two spots are open to debate, although i'd give the spots to ldlc and CPH. you could probably reduce it to top4 if we're only taking LAN results into account, as CPH and LDLC haven't done much on lan so far. but one thing is certain, VP are not above everyone else.

dude you're just fucking retarded. they were the first team to beat NiP it doesn't fucking matter if they were on their home ground and they always had close games with NiP. Stfu u retarded ass.
2013-06-03 03:31
wow they were the first team to beat nip on lan (something that a lot of teams did legitimately online) and thus somehow became a #2 team LOL you do realise that just because they were the first to successfully antistrat NiP at one single event doesn't mean they're better than everyone else? those fanboys are so annoying...
2013-06-03 04:20
online means nothing. kkthx
2013-06-03 08:26
stfu idiot noob they are the only team to beat NIP and online matches never counts u dumbfuck...and antistrats ?? hahahah no other team in the world did that so now stfu ..
2013-06-03 09:19
All you gobshites flaming him lol... he's absolutley right, just because they beat NiP, doesn't mean they're top 2 lol. You'll probably notice that on here there's a new thread that gets started atleast once a week with the subject "New top two team?" just because some other team has nearly beaten NiP!! ROFL... It should be based on many results, against a variety of teams. That said, at that time I also believe VP were top two, but i said that in another thread well before they beat NiP. Judging a team on there performance against NiP is fucking retarded. NiP have been in action loads the past two days! i'm surprised there hasn't been 100000 threads.. "LDLC new top".... no wait...."ination new to..p"... no wait again "VG new top2?" fools
2013-06-03 11:21
Just... Be quiet man. You never say something useful to others...
2013-06-03 12:09
shut up little boy.. I just don't like people flaming others and just being downright abusive
2013-06-03 13:48
LOL do you realise that a damn lot of top teams watches NiP demos and tries to antistrat them while NiP obviously don't give a fuck? they are the first team to beat NiP on lan, fair play to them, but that only means they're the best at antistratting them, it doesn't mean they're on NiP level. in order to be on their level, they should be shitting on everyone else. not to mention that 4-team LAN's don't tell you the whole picture... you probably also take showmatches seriously lol. who knows, maybe NiP were so shit that day that any other top6 team would've destroyed them? i remember VG suddenly placing top12 in source at CPH. not to mention that VP played NiP at exactly the same PCs they had been bootcamping on for two weeks.
2013-06-03 12:10
i have played in my pc for 2 years(same for my teammates) so that means my team will defeat NIP ... ur point was ?
2013-06-03 13:16
you're nowhere near top20... a lot of top20 teams beat NiP online playing on their own PCs. yes it was online but still, playing on your PC can give you a slight advantage.
2013-06-03 15:51
playing online gives advantage and not PC..and NIP was playing on their PC when they lost online so ur point was ?
2013-06-03 16:16
Online doesn't prove shit, they were the only team to play good @LAN against them with close games as I've mentioned already. You're just a blind fuck sorry.
2013-06-03 16:33

I just simply pointed out that your argument is invalid. I am not placing VP as top 2. We'll just have to wait for DreamHack Summer to see if his theory is true.
2013-06-03 00:04
but people here have been, hence the argument. so his point stands
2013-06-03 15:19
A MAP VP did it twice 2-0 and 3-0 now go suck a dick please.
2013-06-03 03:31
LOL they were on the same level as the rest of the top6 teams excluding NiP. just because they're better at antistratting NiP doesn't mean they're on NiP level.
2013-06-03 04:28
Yeah like I would give a fuck what you think? Go "antistrat" ur jews bro. I understand you're just a retarded cunt like most of saucers on this site are.
2013-06-03 16:37
there is another thing that you should have in your mind aswell. Nip was on every lan there was at that time wich mean no time to practise but vp practised only for that event. Lemondogs won a map and nip was ready for it. BIG differance. VP is a top 5 team but i doubt that they will beat WW VG on lan.
2013-06-03 09:04
Yeah and then remember that VP changed to CS:GO a lot later so I don't even give a fuck what you say. Since NiP was #1 they should've stayed at it and btw get ur facts right, VP had close games at CPH games aswell.

random lan LOOOOOOOL
2013-06-02 23:36
your point is?.. the lan only had 2 teams from top6. who knows, maybe NiP were so bad that day that day that WW would've trashed them. saying that a team is top2 just because of one event is plain stupid, especially in this case.
2013-06-02 23:40
ok dont be stupid pls.. vp all lan they were attending always was in top 3 , online they were beating strong teams like vg,cph, western, fnatic
2013-06-03 00:02
vp all lan they were attending always was in top 3 they attended 3 LANs: techlabs, starladder and CPH. two of them had only one top6 team (other than VP). online they were beating strong teams like vg,cph, western, fnatic A lot of top10 teams had done more than VP online. They also had a lot of shameful losses such as 12:16 to plan-B but somehow you prefer to ignore this fact.
2013-06-03 04:25
nice but adren much stronger
2013-06-03 02:45
were top3 top 2 is vg all the time
2013-06-02 23:53
VG had bad time, they were losing with random teams when VP beat NiP and some TOP teams so imo VG wasn't TOP2 all of time
2013-06-02 23:57
lol now the are probably top 6.
2013-06-02 23:58
because they lost a few online matches? bitch please, every team including NiP and VP have lost a whole lot of online matches, but somehow only VG's losses are considered important. by that logic VP isn't even top5 lol

Adren clearly stated he was leaving. When a team only has four players, they obviously are going to change their roster. In other words, add a fifth. (At least, you're calling this a 'change') Guardian had played with them before and apparently the psychics between them worked out.

I don't think they got problem with his ping..the other guys on vp also gets around 70-80..not much diff between 80 and 110.. trust me 100 or 110 ping doesn't feel laggy at all in cs:go
2013-06-02 23:53
Everything above 60-80 is unplayable for me - after the max_cmd... update that is.
2013-06-02 23:58
Your 60-80 ping is unplayable because maybe someone is using inet or downloading something. Adren's 100 ping is because of the distance so that isn't laggy

All haters will be proven wrong by GuardiaN once he's fully active on csgo. No doubt about that.
2013-06-02 23:51
VP lose against weak ESC ... nothing special.
2013-06-02 23:52
they didn't lose, ofc vp weak now
2013-06-02 23:55
Honestly feels like a downgrade for VP. I mean, GuardiaN is probably better skill-wise, but AdreN was having that kind of role that doesnt put you in the spotlight, but without you noone in your team shines so much.. that kind of loord 1.6's role in ESC
2013-06-02 23:52

2013-06-02 23:54
BTW Reason that Adren is inactive is that he had to attend Alliance of Valiant Arms international IeSF 2013 tournament where he represents Team Kazakhstan. And this move by Adren kinda hurt training scedule of virtus.pro. Stupid move if you ask me, should have stayed in CS.

2013-06-03 00:04
well he's been doing a good job against top teams also such as your beloved ESC
2013-06-03 00:05
first of all im not ESC fan so why u are even talking about them? joelz did kd 1 against ESC online amazing achievement!
2013-06-03 00:13
He also had 1.30 against ESC. I also don't fully buy that you're not a fan of ESC, considering you're polish and ESC is the only polish team that's near the top.

Guardian should learn Russian? Please.. English is the most spoken language of the world. I think the guys from Virtus.Pro could dedicate a little bit of time to learning that language. My personal opinion is that english is much more easier to learn and the players from VP will have more out of learning english than Guardian russian.
2013-06-02 23:59
i somewhat agree english is the must in the world, but i think it is easier for Guardian to learn a bit of russian since slovakian is closer to russian than english to russian/slovakian.

I just see no benefit in him learning Russian. This is a part time thing, he will not do this for the rest of his life. It is much more better for the players of VP to learn english. The fact that english is easy to learn and it's the most important language in the world is enough.
2013-06-03 00:08

I learned english in two months, Spanish in four. I think if they put enough dedication they would easily learn it. One or two hours a day is enough.
2013-06-03 00:09
I don't see your point. You want to teach 4 Russian players English, instead of one Slovakian one Russian, while Slovakian is pretty close to Russian. English is one of the most spoken languages in the world, while Russian is one of the most spoken languages in Europe. Also, getting the VP players to learn English, which will only be in its basic form, as it's only for calling purposes - won't have much effect on their future life, so I don't understand why its so damn important that they learn English. A lot of Russians don't speak English, so I guess the VP players will manage as well without.
2013-06-03 00:43
Only Russians know Russian. If you speak English, there's a good chance you will be able to communicate with a lot of people from other countries in Europe. It benefits VP in every case when they travel outside Russia, and will benefit them if they ever decide on picking up a player who doesn't speak Russian. It gives them a great deal of more options if they can pick up a player who doesn't speak Russian but they can communicate with them in English.
2013-06-03 02:03
So you actually expect them to learn the entire English language? You know such will take years? Surely they'll only learn basic calls. And no, basic calls aren't useful at all in real life. So back to my point; it's much easier and better to learn a Slovakian standard Russian calls then four Russians standard English calls. Slovakian and Russian are even alike, so it shouldn't be that much of a deal.

He could play on Dreamhack for VP, but he can't normally bootcamp befour tournament with teammates, and after DH he must switch again and VP must take "stand in" for ESEA and EMS.

2013-06-03 01:16
Why do all those teams make the wrong move ? Do they want to make sure that NiP remains the top team for ever or ? VG: replace kennys for shoxie. Of course keep ex6 + smithzz VP : replace adren for guardian. Not as good as a igl, does nt speak russian as well, + they already had an awper Next: WW kick Nico, fnatic kick Moddi, and then the CS scene is really boring. Come on you re almost there !
2013-06-03 00:11

2013-06-03 00:14
Hahaha i c what u did there
2013-06-03 06:21
its not vp fault... adren choose to play other game
2013-06-03 00:14
Adren wasn't an IGL. Ladislav is one of the best (if not the best) cs:go awper, so this is a really good replace.
2013-06-03 00:18
Its funny how the best awper in cs:go manages to find a team only when someone's PC died and they can't play
2013-06-03 00:20
Adren PC was OK! They had a bootcamp in Kiev, where adren didn't come due to practicing "Alliance of Valiant Arms" for Kasakhstan team.
2013-06-03 00:27
How dumb are you? Obviously Adren left. Adren didn't even have time to pracc with his team much anyway. So it's a damn good move to get a new player. You want them to play with a stand-in half of their games? Also, KennyS wasn't doing well at all for Verygames. He's way too inexperienced to be in a top team. He missed a lot of easy shots because he tried to shoot too fast, and apparently he was also acting too immaturely. You can't have a kid in your team when his attitude is affecting the team. How can you even expect VG to kick their caller? Even implying that a team should kick their top-end caller is a real joke. Ex6tenZ might be a proper bad fragger, but without his strats VG would be nothing.
2013-06-03 00:49
Your arguments are plain stupid. There was never any standin for Virtus.Pro, just the last few matches because AdreNs CPU actually died or something. Where did you get from that he didn't have time to pracc? KennyS acting immaturely? Where did you get that from? Yeah I know, from all the news and everything that was written down here.

yeah well english is pretty easy to understand/learn so... look at fnatic.lol, sk.lol for example, a mix of nationalities with 2 spanish players as midlaners and they do pretty good. fnatic has 3 french players, 1 from finland i guess and 1 from Spain and they are the best team in Europe so... so, if u try hard, commit urself, its not a big deal tbh!

Bad move Virtus.pro had the team to beat NiP. If they practiced hard (like all the other teams), they were able to beat any team! Look at how they smashed NiP on LAN in two BO3, not even losing a single map. At this event they were perfectly prepared and with that performance they could have won against everyone with ease. Sad to see that they started playing more Dota2 than CS afterwards... AdreN was a crucial part of the team. He was very important for their teamplay and with his fast playing-style and his perfectly timed flashes he was a key-player for VP. I can't see VP becoming as strong with GuardiaN as they were before. No doubt that GuardiaN is a good AWP player, but that's all. He always shows some impressive flick-shots with the AWP and the kids go wild. But that's all. His rifle-skills are just average and not good enough for a TOP3 team, he always goes for the AWP and often can't afford the important anti-flashes for his mates, he's not a team-player like AdreN was,.... and I really can't see why VP would need a better AWP player: As you can see with NiP you don't even need a top AWP player to be successful in CS:GO + VP already had a decent AWP player with Fox. IMO this replacement was a mistake. But only time will tell... Sad to see a great and likable player like AdreN retiring although his team was doing very good...

+ not to forget the important entry-frags AdreN made for VP :(

Time will tell. Don't forget that cs is all about preparation and teamplay, I bet Vp will be well prepared for DH 2013, and Guardian himself will develop, because it's easier to develop in a top team/ The only thing that concerns me much, is the pressure that Guardian will be shouldering in future games. He needs to be an adacuate substitution to AdreN, and he realises that, but the question is "will he be able to cope with it"
2013-06-03 14:15
I think it was more caused by Adren, not the team cut him loose,he wanted it
2013-06-03 14:50
Tbh, I think he thought he was doing his teammates a favor if he left the team himself, all because of the fanboys of GuardiaN + the internet cups that he lives far away and have high ping and laggs etc etc. I feel sry for this guy if this is what he was thinking - but he couldn't express himself I guess.

On some Russian internet-site is written that Adren had some problems with the VP organisation because he wants to attend a AVA tournament ("international IeSF 2013 tournament") where he represents Team Kazakhstan, but VP didn't allow him to do this because it would have hurt the training schedule.

Guardian will be a main sniper in VP. Fox and kucher don't want playing with awp.

LeX talks Adren Leave ---> virtuspro.org/news/CSGo/Blog-LeX%60a-O-s.. Too bad - only in Russian though! :( ____________________________________ In brief words the main reason AdreN left the organization was the fact that he couldnt find a compromise solution that would make both AdreN and the organization happy. Basically, there will soon be some kind of Olympic Games for gamers in Kazakhstan that AdreN was whether invited or really wanted to attend and for those Olympics he would need to start practicing "Alliance of Valiant Arms" game since thats the game he'd have to play during those olympics. Basically all those Olympic Games are conflicting with VP's bootcamps/practicing before the DreamHack as well as other events, so basically, AdreN would not be able to practice together with the team as he would besically be back from his Olympic games 1 day before the actual CS:GO lan, so as LeX is saying it is obvious that VP would not really be happy with such a decision which basically means VP might not be showing good results if only 4 players practice and AdreN would just join them right before the LAN without event spending time preparing CS:GO. At this point VP and AdreN decided to recruit GuardiaN to see how they go and to see if they're able to get together and so far it looks well.... Thats a bout it...
