Virtus.pro have announced that they have added Ladislav "GuardiaN" Kovács to their team on a permanent basis.
The Slovakian startet had been playing for Virtus.pro as a stand-in in recent days after Dauren "AdreN" Kystaubayev had some problems with his computer.
It was expected that Kovács would play for the Russian side only in the RaidCall EMS One Cup #3, but after his services were also needed in FACEIT's $1,500 Cup, it was suspected that a permanent move could be in the pipeline.
Virtus.pro have now completed the signing of the former 3DMAX ace as Dauren "AdreN" Kystaubayev has stepped down from the team's active lineup.
"Hi everyone! This is not a joyous day for me," Kystaubayev told Virtus.pro's website. "Today, I decided to leave Virtus.pro. I'm sorry I could not stay, but I would like to thank VP, all the staff and our fans, who helped me to achieve one of the goals I most wanted.
"I would also like to thank my teammates, who understood my decision and supported it.
"I would like to apologise to all those who are disappointed, but I am sure the guys will play as well as they did. I wish GuardiaN the best of luck, he is a good replacement."
The move brings an end to speculation about Kovács future, with the Slovakian ace having recently hinted that he could retire from gaming after his TCM-Gaming team were left in shock following Richard "shoxie" Papillon's decision to join VeryGames.
Kovács will add a lot of firepower to Virtus.pro: he has the third highest rating in CS:GO, only falling behind Ninjas in Pyjamas duo Christopher "GeT_RiGhT" Alesund and Patrik "f0rest" Lindberg.
Virtus.pro now have the following lineup:
Mihail "Dosia" Stolyarov
Sergey "Fox" Stolyarov
Emil "kucher" Akhundov
Kiril "ANGE1" Karasiow
Ladislav "GuardiaN" Kovács
