LDLC beat NiP to win FFO Season 2

June 13th, 2013 01:28

LDLC.com have defeated NiP in the grand final of Fnatic FragOut league Season 2 after two maps (16-9 on de_inferno_se, 25-23 on de_train_se) to clinch $3,000.

After losing two out of three matches in RaidCall EMS One earlier this evening and still qualifying for the LAN finals, Ninjas in Pyjamas had to face fast rising LDLC.com squad in the grand final of Fnatic FragOut league Season 2 with $3,000 on the line. With both teams bootcamping for this weekend's DreamHack Summer, it promised to be a close affair.

Starting on de_inferno_se, their own selection, LDLC.com drew first blood and went up 3-0 as Terrorists. Without even upgrading their galils to AK47s for the first buy round, the French stormed through the A bombsite and secured themselves a solid economic advantage and a 5-0 lead.

They rode the momentum up to eight rounds in a row before Richard "Xizt" Landström finally stopped them with a 4-kill round. Christopher "GeT_RiGhT" Alesund followed it up with his own 4K, including a nail-biting 1-on-1 against Gordon "Sf" Giry at the B bombsite for 8-3. But the French apparently had it all figured out as they won three of the remaining four rounds, taking an impressive 11-4 advantage into the second half.

GeT_RiGhT & co ran into problems early against LDLC.com

LDLC's fairy tale continued in the second pistol round when Dan "apEX" Madesclaire clinched a 1-on-2 situation and defused the bomb, but NiP's Alesund armed himself with an AK in the next round and scored 4 impressive kills to break the French team's momentum.

The Swedes started crawling back, with Alesund winning another 1vs1 for 12-6, and later getting 3 more kills in B for 12-8. NiP eventually reduced the deficit to only three rounds difference, but the French consolidated their defense and stopped every attack in the next four rounds, winning the first map 16-9.

Proceeding to de_train_se, NiP's pick, LDLC won the knife round and started on the favored CT side. Nevertheless, it was the Swedes who took the first round and the initial lead of 3-0. LDLC.com then armed themselves with a couple of AWPs in the hands of Vincent "Happy" Cervoni and Kenny "kennyS" Schrub, which prompted them to go on a four round winning streak.

LDLC's IGL Happy led his team to victory over NiP

Several rounds were then exchanged which put the score at 6-5 for LDLC, who then went on to take a few more and bring the half to a close with a 9-6 advantage. After switching sides the French won their 3rd of four possible pistol rounds and went up 11-6.

NiP opted for a surprise famas buy in the third round and it paid off as they brought themselves back into the game sooner than expected. The Swedes slowly but surely drew closer and finally equalized the score at 11 each.

However, LDLC's reply was stern and they stringed their own streak of four rounds, including a last second 1-on-1 by Cervoni who prevented Patrik "f0rest" Lindberg from defusing the C4. That clutch put LDLC.com on match point at 15-11, but NiP didn't roll over and instead they fought their way back to take the map into overtime. The French would particularly kick themselves for losing the 28th round in which they had a 3-on-2 advantage with the bomb planted, but Landström and Alesund, who completed another 4-kill round, somehow turned the situation around and saved their team.

Going into overtime, NiP prolonged their winning streak on the CT side making it seven rounds in a row and going up 18-15. LDLC.com put up the same number of rounds after the sides were switched, and then won two more in the second overtime thanks to Schrub's AWP which clinched a 2-on-4 situation for 20-18.

Former VeryGames member kennyS top fragged with 40 kills on de_train_se

The Swedes finally broke the CT streak and won the first T round of both overtimes, but it wasn't enough as LDLC accomplished the same feat to make it 21-21 and move the map into 3rd OT.

CT side once again prevailed and the Swedish giants took a 23-22 lead, but individual heroics and clutch play by the French prevailed in the second half, as initially Madesclaire recorded 4 kills to even the score and then Cervoni and Schrub used their AWPs to win a 2-on-4 situation for 24-23. In the last round LDLC didn't let NiP get back into the game again, and they brought this exquisite clash to an end with a 25-23 scoreline.

2. Sweden NiP - $2,000
3. Other TBD - $1,000 – Thursday, June 13 at 20:00

So, NiP dominate the scene since the start. They lost 2 maps to VP and people are like "OMG. NiP not TOP1 anymore, so weak" Now, NiP lost 4 maps and people are like "NiP finally lose, scene getting interesting, LDLC too stronK" What's up with that?
2013-06-13 01:34
VP played like shit after break they had... so people got over their win vs NiP. Everyone (accept NiP fans) want to scene gets more interesting. So many NiP loses (including BO3) will just spice things up for DH.
2013-06-13 01:37
this is the sign of something huge to happen at the expense of NiP, finally something exciting happening.
2013-06-13 01:50

only because they don't have 1.6'ers in the team. see nip's case ;). but i don't think you can understand what i'm saying, so i'll explain it to you like you are a "special" person: saucers are very good players and the best players in a team when they don't have 1.6'ers in that team. for example, nip's case, where fiffy and fiby are the worst players, overall, in online/offline. also, in 98% of the games, one of them was last at k/d. moreover, in 82% of the games, fiffy and fiby were 3-5 at k/d, and it 63% of the case they were last 2.
2013-06-13 14:29
so youre suggesting the 1.6 players are the better ones, and i said look at the sauCeRs outfragging them mongcow

What kind of PCs @ GTR's picture ... and which RAZER mouse KennyS's using ?
2013-06-13 10:33
Would it be possible to extend the statistics with additional data? I would love to see things such as damage done and team damage done :)

Azerbaijan Talley
2013-06-13 11:15
It's get rights fault . He played too easy recently . I'm sure when he gets serious , NIP will dominate again.
2013-06-13 11:15
kennyS is god:)
2013-06-13 11:26
well well well some troublesome matches for nip lately. Is this the beginning of a downfall? kennyS must be kinda happy being let go of VG with the way things are going now :)
2013-06-13 11:53
ohmygod NiP is so bad right now hahaha, probably they won't make thorugh the groupstage at DH imho :D
2013-06-13 12:13
kennyS is :O:O:O:O !!!! nice for VeryGames to kick him out :D
2013-06-13 12:16
...yep, kennys is/was sick! that's why kicking players isnt a good thing, mistake by VG, it is a known fact that u do not always own and be best, u do s**k sometimes and u just need time to start owning again and that is what VG did not take into considaration and here is the result ---> kennyS gets 66 frags total on NiP ;) gg
2013-06-13 12:43
I think that LDLC's playing style suits kennyS a lot better than the role he played in VG. With that being said.. It is weird that they got rid of probably the best AWP in the world. Still I think that shoxie > kennyS
2013-06-13 15:31
perhaps shoxie > kennyS, even though he hasn't shown anything yet. Remember when ScreaM was a beast too when he played for a weaker team, then he joined VG and became less of a beast than before. Is this happening with shoxie as well?
2013-06-13 19:01
I don't think it is to be honest, they haven't even attended a major LAN with this lineup yet and from what I've read from everywhere they have been struggling with practice because of exams etc. Ofc its possible, but I think they ought to be judged after they've attended their first LAN with this LU.
2013-06-14 08:09
getright is always on top of the frag list, then always is f0rest and xizt... friberg and Fifflaren too low for these 3 amazing players ;) 1.6 > csgo players....
2013-06-13 13:31
1.6 > csgo players? f0rest, GTR and xizt are csgo players, numbskull.
2013-06-13 13:57
you do realise xizt had a worse score than friberg? "1.6 > csgo players" jesus fucking christ, you've just established a new level in stupidity

GJ kennyS
2013-06-13 14:17
That was a great win from ldlc over NiP, though NiP were not playing their A-game imo, and ofc they were keeping strats for the next LAN, i hope ldlc continue perform on an equal level in the future. GG both teams.
2013-06-13 14:19
ya right keeping strats :D:D:D so LDLC just showed all their starts and wont even pass groups right?
2013-06-13 14:48
I'm gonna be that guy and say that I think NiP was keeping strats for DH/(E-sports cupen) since it's more important for them. Not taking away anything from LDLC though.
2013-06-13 14:38
again fifflaren and friberg with amazing scores.. saucers gonna sauce
2013-06-13 14:45
you do realise xizt had a worse score than friberg right? oh no, you don't, the average intelligence of a hltv.org user is like that of a snail...
2013-06-13 20:49
?? Richard 'Xizt' Landström 45-52 -7 Adam 'friberg' Friberg 48-59 -11 Ok brah
2013-06-13 21:22
thanks for proving my point. 48 is greater than 45, unless you have some different maths in portugal.
2013-06-13 21:49
ok bro, i kill 30 guys and die 15 times, but you kill 31 guys and die 10293012930129 times, you are better.
2013-06-14 00:15
jesus fucking christ, why are you all so dumb... when you are losing a match, who is more important to your team: the guy who baits his teammates all the time, saves his weapon and doesn't even kill with it, or the guy who makes those few crucial extra frags? the answer is obvious.
2013-06-14 00:36
Fifflarens post 12.06 "We’ve been boot camping since Sunday here in Sollentuna, Sweden. We are mostly sorting out some new stuff on various maps " Everyone could see NiP having a bad day, And as you can read they where also trying out new stuff. So NiP is still safe on their crown for a long time. LDLC played damn good, It was so nice to see Kenny own it up, I wonder what VG feels for throwing him out... I hope to see NIP and LDLC in more finals!
