Virtus.pro has completed a three map comeback win versus NiP with scorelines of 11-16 on de_mirage_ce, 16-11 on de_dust2_se and 16-14 on de_nuke_se to advance to the RC EMS One grand final.
NiP started de_mirage_ce well as Richard "Xizt" Landström and Patrik "f0rest" Lindberg combined for four kills, allowing NiP to go up 3-0. Emil "kucher" Akhundov's connector flank gave Virtus the fourth round, but Robin "Fifflaren" Johansson's three kills quickly gave NiP the control back.
Virtus looked poised to win the seventh round after a save, but Lindberg's one-on-two heroics forced the CIS-based squad to save once more, making it 7-1. NiP lost the next two rounds, but managed to save two guns through both rounds.
Kirill "ANGE1" Karasiow was unable to convert a one-on-three, and a two-on-three loss by him and Ladislav "GuardiaN" Kovács forced them to save. After a quick slaughter in middle, NiP found themselves up 10-3.
NiP's defense was then wiped away in the A site with Adam "friberg" Friberg scoring three exit kills, but the Swedes had no issues winning the final round of the half for a 11-4 lead.
f0rest was too strong for Virtus on de_mirage_ce
Virtus picked up an easy pistol round win as counter-terrorists, but lost a save round with Friberg picking up three AWP kills on the third round. NiP won the next round as well, but Virtus didn't give up, winning a weak forcebuy to cut the score to 7-13.
NiP wound up losing two more rounds including a save round, but then attacked the B bombsite and were able to win their fourteenth round. At 9-13 Sergey "Fox" Stolyarov and Kovács won a two-on-three in the A site, keeping VP alive.
Lindberg then led an NiP rush into the A site and scored three entry kills, giving his team map point. Another Stolyarov Kovács clutch kept their team alive slightly longer, but another three kill round from Lindberg made it 16-11.
Virtus went for a super aggressive pistol round as counter-terrorists on de_dust2_se with Kovács quickly in the terrorist spawn on the flank, and were able to take out NiP for a rare defensive side pistol round.
Alesund's three AK47 kills opened up the third round, while Lindberg finished the final two opponents with sub-10hp. A mid-to-B split from NiP then gave the Swedes another round, and forced VP to save.
Virtus kept fighting despite early deficits
NiP lost the next round, but Johansson's three kills on the round after followed up by another triple from Alesund quickly made it 6-3 for NiP, and forced the underdogs on yet another save round.
The Swedes then won another round attacking long A, and Virtus's save made it 3-9 despite Kovács' four exit kills. The Slovak was heating up though, and after VP won a round, he picked up three AWP kills to make it 5-9.
Final round of the half went to NiP on a simple catwalk hit, but Mihail "Dosia" Stolyarov's three pistol round kills kept his team in the game. NiP's usual third round buy didn't pay off, and they found themselves up only 10-9 after a save.
Fifth round of the half came down to Kovács in a one-on-three, and he completed one of the most amazing clutches in CS:GO's history, quick scoping three NiP players on top of the A site.
Perhaps overjoyed, Virtus made some mistakes on the next round and NiP were able to win a save. Despite looking down, Stolyarov's triple kill gave VP back momentum and money control.
GeT_RiGhT showed similar form to his yesterday's dust2 terrorist side play
Another three kill round from Stolyarov quickly made it 14-11, and NiP's money issues for them to save. At map point, Virtus attacked catwalk to win their sixteenth round of the map, tying the series 1-1.
Virtus started off de_nuke_se with a quick outside split that took them from lower back to upper, and completely confused NiP who were not able to recover, and went down 0-3 to start the deciding map.
Another quick strategy from VP extended their lead to 5-0. Landström's three kills in upper gave NiP life, and they easily took down their opponents on the next two rounds, cutting the deficit to 3-5.
Kovács played the hero once again on round nine, and his one-on-one clutch versus Johansson made it 6-3. NiP continued buying, but were wiped on the upper site by a well executed attack for a 3-7 scoreline.
GuardiaN was undoubtedly Virtus.pro's hero in this series
The Swedes refused to save, and looked to be on their way back into the game just as Kovács and Sergey "Fox" Stolyarov completed an incredible two-on-five win, forcing NiP to save for a commanding 9-3 lead.
Friberg's two M4A4 kills started a late NiP comeback, and their aggressive play shut down Virtus' attacks all across the map, as they all of a sudden found themselves trailing just 6-9 at half time.
Emil "HeatoN" Christensen's troops tied the game by winning the terrorist side pistol round and the two consecutive save rounds by Virtus, but two round wins on the lower bombsite forced the Swedes to save and made it 12-9 for Virtus.
NiP's attacks kept getting picked apart all across the map, but sitting in their spawn on the following save round seemed to ignore some ideas a they won the next round, making it 10-14.
Virtus.pro celebrating their third NiP win
Virtus then went for a clever outside setup with Karasiow pushed up aggressively under the white silo, and entry kills from him and Kovács allowed Virtus.pro to gain match point at 15-10.
Lindberg's two running AK47 headshots outside kept NiP in the game and gave them some hope. The Swedes then took over the upper bombsite next round, and the final two Virtus members chose to save their weapons in a two-on-two.
NiP were then close to losing the anti-eco round, but Friberg and Johansson came through in a two-on-four situation, making it 13-15. The second to last round was then a lot more anti-climatic, as NiP ran over the Russians' defense at ramp and made it 14-15.
Now on a weak buy with just four FAMASes to try to clinch the series, the game looked to be going into overtime before Karasiow and Stolyarov scored kills in the lower site, and with Johansson unable to convert a one-on-four situation into a win, Virtus won the map 16-14 and the series 2-1.
