ESEA Invite with $39,500 prize purse

ESEA has announced the complete prize breakdown for the Invite division of season 14.

ESEA 14 may already be reaching its latter stages, but the exact prize purse and its distribution remained a mystery to everyone, including the teams.

The prize pool for the season has been set at $39,500, which represents a $3,500 increase when compared to last season's purse.

ESEA trophies for CS:GO, CS 1.6 and TF2

ESEA 14 finals will be held in August

There are also $23,500 up for grabs in the other CS:GO divisions that are taking place all over the world, bringing the total prize purse for this game alone to $63,000.

ESEA 14 Invite prize distribution:

1. $20,000
2. $8,000
3. $4,000
4. $2,500
5-6. $1,500
6-6. $1,500
7-8. $
1,000
7-8. $1,000

ESEA 14 finals will take place from August 16th through 18th at the Double Tree Hilton, in Dallas. You can check out the schedule of the tournament by going here.

Nice first place. And with ESEA you actually get the money.

Did ESEA ever pay people for that whole bitcoin scandal? Also did they show any proof for the charity donation they were going to do? Took some time off after all that happened so wasnt able to follow it

ESEA posted a response literally within hours of that bitcoin news post. As well as an official statement a day after, which you can easily google. The better question is why does Invite get such a high prizepool, when in fact it is the lower league(90%+ of playerbase in ESEA) that actually pays for this prize purse.

actually they are the only reason anyone plays cs in north america. without esea there wouldn't be anything comparable left. how do i know? because nothing comparable ever existed before.

Actually, people would still play cs in NA if esea didnt exist, except they would be able to play for free and do it the old-school way...IRC. It was much better before esea came around. Now esea prevents any other NA cs communities from gaining a foothold. Its a shame, especially when the owners of the company are shitty human beings.

Ah I love reading comments by dumb people, it's just plain funny. "Oh you dislike the monopoly ESEA has?! WELL IT'S BECAUSE YOU PLAYED IN IT AND SUCKED!" 10/10 logic and argument.
2013-07-09 16:08
ESEA exists BECAUSE of the compeittive scene, and not the other way around. ESEA was in a great place at a good time to capitalize on the market. Unfortunately, they shit all over the scene as soon as they got the monopoly they wanted and continue to do so. ESEA does not value their customers, all they value is what is in their customer's pockets. I gotta admit it was agreat business strategy, but they hold the scene back bigtime and prevent the playerbase from growing organically into something bigger and better. I wish valve would cut them down somehow.

it almost seems like people switched because they figured esea's system is better? is there something stopping you from logging on to irc? can you not start channels anymore in gamesurge? are there no servers outside of esea in north america? the fact is everyone likes esea better (because it is amazing; i should know, i've played both in usa and in europe) and that's why no one is using irc. also, without esea there clearly wouldn't be any tournaments to play in, let alone ones with such massive prizes.

99% of na cs'ers dont play for money or play in lan tournaments. People dont stick to esea just because 'its better', they stick to it because once it captured the majority of cs players, you cant find any good players or communities anywhere else. its a shame, really. it ruined the community and turned it into a big stats circlejerk while kane and torbull laugh all the way to the bank. to them, the cs scene is the 'gift that keeps on giving' and they have 0 respect for it as evidenced by the bitcoin scandal among a million other horror stories of terrible customer service. esea hurts the cs scene, period.

I would say from my own observations that having ESEA alone is a good thing and a bad thing, good thing is it gives a great enviroment to players from mid + skill level to compete and mix while low tier players, which is what CS:GO at the mooment needs the most, don't have a proper league to play in. This also the problem with the whole #narevival, while it is a great action, it's not rightly set. It should be aimed at the low end scene and create more cups and open leagues for the new teams and players. I actually think this could be a great opportunity for ESL and its NA version as GO4CSGO and Open ladders ect. are usually popular amog these players.

i seen nothing special about esea. and ur telling me people joined on esea because its better the mirc.. correction people jumped on esea because it has an anti cheat client..and majoirty of the people who play on esea just pug... they dont even play in the leagues, thats why the deathmatches are dead, the aim map servers are always dead, and so are the scrims servers during the day,.whats so special about esea, people pug and troll 24/7, findringer fuckin blows on it and its the slowest thing ever, rws is the shitty stats system ever made, this .block and -karma system is the most pointless thing ever where trolls abuse it.to join an good open team you gotta be like invite,oh yea you have few nuking useless posts, while he allows unacceptable threads continue to troll, you can get banned for opening support tickets,if you kick trolls from the the pugs, people can dispute it and win while the person who kicked them get banned for a month even showing proof of envidence fro ma youtube video showing how they were trolling in the pug for the reason why they were getting kicked. in irc, you pretty much can scrimmed 24/7, the trolling was at a low, you can pretty much meet new people, you didnt get trolled 24/7 like you do in esea pugs,to actually make a team or tryout for a team it wasnt that hard or slow then it is on esea,on esea its pretty much all about gathers or pugs...

and majority of the time you have people ghosting in pugs, or stacking teams in pug where people are in mumble and vent where they decide not to communicate with the team because they need to frag hunt to make there stats better so they increase there adr and fpr and rws,and 99% of the times in pugs nobody communicates because everyones a mute.
2013-07-09 21:14
theres 249 open team exacly (only in NA) so that mean 2500 MINIMUM players who play in open The majority play the league
2013-07-09 22:55
Yes I remember about the news posts but did anybody bother to follow it up to make sure they stayed true to their word?
2013-07-09 10:26
The better question is why does Invite get such a high prizepool, when in fact it is the lower league(90%+ of playerbase in ESEA) that actually pays for this prize purse. Are you serious with this question? Do you think they shouldn't do pro tournaments at all, or that they should focus on amateur level tournaments (which do not bring any viewers or profits)?

You make a compelling argument, but I'm not convinced. There is nothing strange about ESEA profits going to pro tournaments. It's the best thing for sponsors, the pro scene, and viewers. If amateurs want to compete for real money, then they need to get better, not have ESEA waste money on a tournament for teams who would probably be happy to play for a first place pool of $50.

Na is broken just with ESEA , needs more challenges and leagues , CEVO is dead ! so Na never gonna beat EU scene just with ESEA "curse" doesnt feel any pressure in NA , means they couldnt get better just playing with bad teams which lvl is funny than EU ... = bad opposite: just look at NIP how many teams can playing at the same lvl as they r ... (VP ,VG , WW, NaVi ,ESC ,LDLC ,Epsilon ,Fnatic ). and after that just imagine the LVL NA and EU . pz
