VeryGames win FACEIT Cup July

VeryGames have beaten the new fnatic squad in the grand final of FACEIT July Cup 2-0 (16-13 on de_dust2_se & 16-14 on de_mirage_ce) and won $800 for their efforts.

In the culmination of FACEIT's July season, four winners of the weekly Saturday cups met with four invited teams in the battle for a share of a $1,500 monthly prize purse.

All of the teams that received direct invites, which included the new fnatic squad along with VeryGames, n!faculty and Western Wolves, made it through the best-of-one quarter-finals.

VeryGames' mad-fragging trio led them to a new title

The only team that faced trouble in the first round were the Danes Western Wolves, who played with a stand-in Sebastian "Isenbo" Riising against Finnish mix-team ONLINERzz, as they had to come back from a 2-13 first half deficit on de_dust2_se to eventually win 16-14.

However, they didn't last long in the tournament since fnatic then knocked them out in the semi-final with 16-6 on de_inferno and 16-13 on de_dust2_se, despite Matthias "MSL" Lauridsen coming back for the second map of the clash.

The other side of the bracket was delayed due to VeryGames' Mad Catz Invitational match against Lemondogs, but as soon as they dealt with that task, the French-Belgian team returned to FACEIT and disposed of DreamHack Valencia winners n!faculty, winning 16-7 on de_dust2_se and 16-11 on de_mirage_ce.

MODDII squared off against VeryGames once again

The grand final between fnatic and VeryGames began well after midnight local time with the first map being de_dust2_se. Despite going down 9-6 at the half, Kevin "Ex6TenZ" Droolans' squad executed their T-side quite well and ended up winning 16-13.

de_mirage_ce was equally, if not even more interesting with fnatic this time going ahead 11-4 as terrorists, but VG once again making their way back. With some impressive play by Richard "shox" Papillon the RaidCall EMS One Summer champions overturned the score and took the lead late in the game.

It all came down to the last round though, and it was the seemingly out-of-shape Adil "ScreaM" Benrlitom that clutched an excellent 1-on-2 to win the map 16-14 and thus the match 2-0.

not really no. I've never seen ex6tenz with that kind of hs percentage. Same for shox, who usually takes the awp which decreases it
2013-08-09 12:36
shox 73.7 ScreaM 73.0 NBK 60.5 Ex6TenZ 60.5 not even close with fnatic. 46 / 31 / 40.5 / 37.8 / 58.8

I doubt I ever saw that kind of number. Maybe a few times I saw it around 80-85%. The only one I saw going higher than 90 was Area's, and it was a while ago.
2013-08-09 18:45
ScreaM had 97% HS ratio against WW if im not mistaken at Mad Catz Birmingham.

before VG youtube.com/watch?v=Q5Wtx2eTATo youtube.com/watch?v=_RUcnDBlJwI youtube.com/watch?v=qoqwQVbMLbg before he joined VG he was actually an influential player and had freedom to frag. it's true what Thorin says about VG not being able to utilize their players properly.

You cannot be the 'star' in the team if you're not good enough. In VG there are better players, hence why he doesn't get all that freedom.

Not the best-.
2013-08-09 16:46
hes an amazing player, whom VG doesn't utilize properly. look above at his performances in other teams when he was allowed to do whatever he wanted.
2013-08-09 06:21
he is rated 3rd on this tournament behind shox and moddi, but ok.
2013-08-09 06:23
Hes probably the best aimer in the world and overall one of the best players aswell, cant count all the clutches hes done for his team anymore, too many.
2013-08-09 08:37
true.
2013-08-09 10:05
He's not even a decent role player. Amazing aim but terrible game sense. Not even close to NBK's standard.
2013-08-09 09:16
funny how not even a semi pro player, talks about a pro player's game sense, he probably knows more about this subject than you. Contrary to other games, cs doesn't require "that" much brain if you're not the igl leader, it's all experience, and scream had plenty.
2013-08-09 15:29
I confidently stand by what I said.
2013-08-11 10:21
maybe he sometimes makes the bad choices but you can't deny he's very good when it comes to clutch!
2013-08-09 21:59
Saying Scream is a top3 player is just exaggerating. He's too inexperienced yet to claim this kind of spot. But stating any point is proven because of an event is exaggerating just as much.
2013-08-09 10:20
hltv.org/?pageid=188&matchid=15053&event.. hltv.org/?pageid=188&matchid=15057&event.. maybe if you cared to check the stats, three of the last four games, prior to the final he was top fragger.

They really aren't that bad... They host one of these bi cups once a month so that's 18k + smaller cups. Pretty sure they are handing out 25k/year which is more than many Other tournaments can say.

heyo. kinda offtopic, but do you have competitive team in Norway? like you had in the beginning of 1.6 (like NoA, eoL, partially mYm and team.no)

they are only playing gathers.. norway got some good invidual players but doesnt care to put in any effort too form a team and really compete

Norway fl1r
There was a lot of disagreements between the H2k org and the players from Temp.no who joined H2k earlier this year. Afaik they are barely a team but autumn will come and we will get more answers. We also have 3 other teams in Norway that can compete on an international scale but lack the effort and dedication (not the individuals of course) from my perspective. These teams are Lions EK, Zoctai and BX3. These teams features players who have been in the game for a long time without too much new blood (except Zoctai perhaps), and it saddens me that the Norwegian scene have a way of shove away talent in Norway.
2013-08-09 13:59
We have strong players, there's no denying that! The lack of motivation and people not being serious enough leads to a very gather/mix/scrim based scene, where people just "play for fun" instead of actually trying to get better, get international experiences and such.. You've seen the likes of centryz & co (temp.no) being able to challenge the best in the world, although again, it lead to a disban and we're not exactly known for having a very strong FPS scene (The era with noa, eoL, of course not taken into concideration!), but its something that hopefully will get a lot better once valve starts rolling out bigger updates that will activly improve the game and attract mroe players to dedicate more time!

He is a complete role model for the support role in cs. He plays it brilliantly. It isn't his job to go around the map mad fragging, as you have NBK, ScreaM and Shox to do that. Whenever the rounds are really tight and down to those 3 on 3's, it's SmithZz coming in with a quick double kill. Or whenever the opposition is pushing a team mates positions, it's SmithZz throwing the counter flash for him, or flanking them. That's because it's his role.
2013-08-09 14:25

Oh VG beats fnatic? "what a suprise". NBK and shox played amazing as always, Ex6TenZ and SmithZz also made some huge plays, its hard to take anything away from any of them seeing as there are only so much one player can do. However, briliant performance VG, keep this up and the #1 spot is up for grabs

2013-08-09 09:36
Well most of em were on vacation. Some of em ofc played but like 10-20h past 2 weeks is not that much. Not like fnatic who are playin 24/7 atm. Wonder how big rape it will be after next 10 days when VG will be back from bootcamp.
2013-08-09 09:53
Yeah but for some reason when people take off of cs for a bit or dont play as much for a little they come back stronger

"fnatic proving themselves to be a team worth looking out for!" 'worth looking out for' is the main thing here. if it's too hard to understand feel free to google translate. they got a new lineup and got to the final (beating WW amongst others), losing to the worlds second best team with 16-13, 16-14. I'd say it's ok.
