VeryGames have cemented their status as France's strongest team after coming out on top of the Masters Français du Jeu Vidéo finals.

The French event took place this weekend at Showroom LDLC.com in Paris, with the eight teams who racked up the most points during the LAN season attending the tournament.

The highlight of this tournament was without a doubt the WARMAKER mix team, who attended the event with former 1.6 ace Christophe "SIXER" Xia in addition to ex-LDLC duo Kenny "kennyS" Schrub and Mathieu "Maniac" Quiquerez.

In the semi-final stage, WARMAKER gave a good account of themselves against VeryGames, but in the end the team led by Kevin "Ex6TenZ" Droolans picked up a 2-0 victory (16-9 on de_mirage_se and 16-12 on de_nuke_se).

VG played three very close maps against Clan-Mystik

VG moved on to the grand final, where they had to tackle Clan-Mystik, who had defeated Redzone 2-0 in the semis. Dan "apEX" Madesclaire's new team came out very strongly and won the first map, de_inferno_se, 16-10, but then the RaidCall EMS One champions responded and took the next two maps (16-14 on de_mirage_se and 19-16 on de_nuke_se) to run out 2-1 victors of this very close game.

What you think about Denmark then? can we walk to LANs?
2013-09-02 11:25
Huh?
2013-09-02 13:38
The only reason why it's a little costly in Denmark is that you have to go over Storebaeltbridge in some cases. If that wasn't the case it wouldn't be very cheap to travel 200km etc.

ok, there might be enough for an ice cream for the players as well :)
2013-09-02 14:45
Not actually a nice tournament(talking about the prices) but indeed nice finals :D
2013-09-02 06:03
The first 2 spots gave a ESWC.fr spot too, thats why the top teams went to this event.
2013-09-02 07:33
No surprise. Good job.

I don't see anything behind that post. apex, kennys, neo, taz and overdrive was very good lineup but right now apex can easily rape with some other french team :P
2013-09-02 09:59
Its very hard to keep an international team together. They leave if there is a spot in a good team in their country.
2013-09-02 10:23
+1 cuz training( Bootcamp ) is so important (e.g. Astana)
2013-09-02 12:18
Not only that, they can only play in international lans, so they won't be attending national lans.
2013-09-02 12:43
Similar the playstyles, tougher the match.

apex should be playing for VG
2013-09-02 12:17
Maybe they don't get along?!
2013-09-02 12:26
They sure didnt look so yesterday. I saw apex joking with vg players and laughing a lot.
2013-09-02 13:46
Why would VG change a player though?
2013-09-02 14:01
Because he was straight 2+ fragging them every round for the whole final
2013-09-03 17:51
Yeah and VERYGAMES won. apEX is a very good player, no doubt, but kicking someone from a team that has recently done nothing but win sounds like a bad idea.
2013-09-03 18:38
No, it's just that what is the most important in a team is to stick with players as much as you can, because too many changes are bad in the long run. They were already forced to change with Rpk, then made another with KennyS. They need consistency now.

I can promise you that they would've NEVER replaced RpK if he didn't quit GO. RpK, NBK and Ex6TenZ were like best friends, AND they worked great together. I do see the kennyS move as a vital part in their reason success, my guess is that their winning streak is far from over. The dumbest move they could make now is to kick SmithZz for apEX. SmithZz is a way better player overall than apEX. He's chemistry with VG is great and he's a brilliant AWPer. apEX is simply too immature and stupid to realize how this is actually a TEAM-GAME. He will never wear a VG jersey again, and rightfully so.
2013-09-02 19:36
And that's why I said "they were FORCED" for Rpk... I know perfectly they wouldn't have changed otherwise. For KennyS though, I think it wasn't a bad move listening to their opinions afterwards. There is no reason for them to kick anyone right now. Apex would be a good choice, but only if they were forced to make a change.

I was surprised when I saw 1:1 in maps score and 11:4 (or something, I don't remember) for CM when CM guys were in TT... I was pretty sure they'll win this LAN so, not so expected if your post is just sarcasm
2013-09-02 16:45
lol verygames had to comeback after a 11-4 clan mystik lead on the T side of de_nuke,so yes its a surprise actualy
2013-09-02 17:44
clan mystic play great, and i dont even think that VG have any chance to beat NiP, never^forever
2013-09-02 14:32
VG don't played at their normal level, but it was enough, no strat etc... I think with a 2 week bootcamp or just some strat, the result would be much more hard, but gg to clan-mystik they were good too, but wait for vg dude, wait it
