LGB to skip DreamHack Bucharest

LGB eSports have announced they will not be making the trip to Bucharest next weekend. Additionally, the team confirmed that Olof "olofm" Kajbjer has joined on a permanent basis.

HLTV.org was informed that LGB eSports, a squad which represented Greek organization Refuse until recently, won't have financial support needed to attend the event in Romania that is set to take place on September 14-15th.

eksem's squad won't be making the trip to Romania

LGB turned some heads last week in the MSI Beat it! European qualifier when they managed to beat Copenhagen Wolves and Astana Dragons, as well as put up a great fight against NiP and ESC.

In the end they even moved on to the playoffs ahead of Astana Dragons and ESC thanks to round difference, which leaves them in the running for a spot at the finals in Shanghai, China.

We talked to the team's captain Mikail "eksem" Bill about the situation surrounding their departure from Refuse and the Bucharest trip:

"Well the thing is that when we joined Refuse they said that we could go to 3 local lans and 3/4 international events. When Dreamhack Summer was nearby they fixed some money, but the sponsor did some bank transfer fail so the money wasn't supposed to be in our bankaccount until after Dreamhack.

"So we talked with the sponsor and said that we could borrow money from another organisation, the sponsor said "Yes you can, we will send the money one week after Dreamhack so you can pay it back".

"So we lend the money. After one week we tried to talk to the sponsor but they didn't reply and all Refuse said was "we can't do anything about the money situation". So today I owe this organisation money and Refuse didn't help me even though they said they would.

"After a while we got the invitation for Dreamhack Bucharest and I talked to Refuse and I got the response "Oh, nice job, we will fix the money asap" and we waited and waited.

"About 2 weeks ago Refuse came to me and said "Alright I have fixed money", so I asked how much it was and got the answer "500$ + gear + tshirts". 500 dollars is only enough for ONE person. So we decided to leave Refuse and then we started LGB eSports"

However, eventually the team was unable to find needed support to attend the upcoming $15,000 event in Bucharest, Romania.

He also added that they officially confirm that Olof "olofm" Kajbjer has joined the team in place of Marcus "windster" Andersson. Kajbjer has been the team's best player in MSI Beat it! European Finals so far, recording 0.84 kills per round and a 1.24 rating.

"We're proudly announcing that olofm is a part of our team, he is a really good player and a good piece in our team.

"But unfortunally we can't attend Dreamhack Bucharest because we don't have financial support, it's really sad for us to announce.

"If we somehow are able to fix this money we're looking for we will go for sure but as it looks like right now we're not able to do so.

"Otherwise I'm happy that people actually cheer for us now and I will with confidence say that we will attend the next LAN event."

LGB eSports have the following roster:

Sweden Mikail "eksem" Bill
Sweden Olof "olofm" Kajbjer
Sweden Freddy "KRiMZ" Johansson
Sweden Alexander "SKYTTEN" Carlsson
Sweden Andreas "maxAki" Andersson

The Swedish team was supposed to play against Astana Dragons, Natus Vincere and local side myRevenge in Group D of DreamHack Bucharest, but now the organizers will be forced to find a replacement.

KRiMZ demo on this site vs Astana is definately worth a watch.

They wouldn't even play the qualifiers if they were lan dodgers...
2013-09-05 16:27
you don't understand the concept of lan dodging, if the wouldnt play the qualifier they wouldn't even get an invited in the first case. without an invite you can't dodge lans. the whole idea of dodging lans is to get invited or to qualify and then bail out.

2013-09-05 16:33
Based on their behaviour on irc etc, one could only think that they would need their parents to travel with them aswell to attend international events. Some og them behave like 12 yeard old kids with testosteron boost in their bodies.

2013-09-05 16:35
You just failed to mention one "little" detail about the DH Winter money, you were told that you have to meet the requirements about the things you must do during the event, which you failed ALL to do so (and i'm talking about simple things like pictures, ingame tags and stuff). Making this public just to blame us and not taking any responsibility from your side in this story just shows how unprofessional you're.
2013-09-05 16:35
Talking about credibility, have you tried to take down esl/hltv/cadred by any chance? You could try and do the same thing you did to CyberGamer, too bad you failed on your mission.
2013-09-05 16:40
hahah, grandi is butthurt once again. Since when HLTV is the kindergarden place for you to troll, tek9 is not enough?
2013-09-05 16:41
I hardly troll here. Permabanned on tek9, due to some admin going on a banning spree. aijaa.com/FUsDqW So, shall we continue with the CyberGamer discussion?
2013-09-05 16:44
I'm normally not discussing matters like this when the public eyes watch, but I need to ask you one thing: Did you think you handled dh proffessional at any level since you claim to call eksem unprofessional? I'm sorry stripz, but I need to call bullshit on this one. When you guys at refuse were aware of the cost of printing the t-shirts you didn't say shit, it was like an massive "fuck you" to us. We asked and did not get any type of response if we should buy shirts or not when the costs was that high. This was probably because you saw dalito & rape not having the ingame logos 5 hours before the event, so don't you dare to speak about professionalism when you assume things and act from that impulse. If you'd like to discuss this further please write to me at steam.
