2005 NiP wins the NiP showmatch

The 2005 NiP team has won the Inferno Online showmatch 2-1 (14-16 de_dust2, 16-12 de_nuke, 16-14 de_inferno) versus the current CS:GO team in Counter-Strike 1.6.

With nothing on the line the match clearly wasn't overly serious, but it still managed to draw over 25,000 spectators at the game's peak, late on a Saturday evening in Europe.

The likes of Marcus "zet" Sundström, Emil "HeatoN" Christensen and Tommy "Potti" Ingemarsson don't show up daily, and this time it was for Inferno Online's new location's opening event.

zet and the other old NiP members prevailed in the showmatch

They teamed up with former SK duo Michael "ahl" Korduner and Christer "fisker" Eriksson to take on the world's best Counter-Strike: Global Offensive team, also known as NiP.

Due to a DDoS attack the match was first postponed and then the CS:GO section of it had to be canceled, with only a Counter-Strike 1.6 best-of-three taking place, and the 2005 NiP team narrowly coming out on top.

We also had our signed NiP-zet- jersey giveaway competition running for the match, and the winner will be published and contacted in the coming days.

They deserved. Btw, it was really great to watch the match. Simply nostalgic.

That retarded logic..
2013-09-08 03:12
Only on HLTV. So delusional that they think a DDoS on the CS:GO match, and not the 1.6 match, was to protest the 1.6 match. Time to look at yourselves.
2013-09-08 10:52
:)
2013-09-08 02:47
I actually think that, if there was a reason behind it of course, it would rather be to prevent the CS:GO match to take place, given the incredible amount of CS:GO haters compared to 1.6 haters ^^. So the plan worked.
2013-09-08 10:26
I wanted to see the csgo also <.<

HeatoN is so fucking insane, I could hear him laugh in the background of the stream, he laughs as loud as me the cunt
2013-09-08 00:57
Ive seen some comments in the match thread "trashtalking" the cs:go team about losing to oldschoolers and i mean.. FFS, it was all about fun and nostalgia, noone gave a fuck about the result, if you were swedish you would understand all the background shit it was going on, it was merely a show for the fans. Just appreciate the moment these legends gave and stop talking shit about X or Y performance individually, it was not the point of the game.

for a random mix game 30k its really good :) after an year of non competitive gaming. And we had more that 60k on big events...oh wait you don't have big events in cs:go :-s
2013-09-08 01:21
30k for a showmatch between the best of today and the best of 2005, it's not a 'random mix game' it's an allstar showmatch a lot lookimg from a cs perspective but otherwise it's a bit disappointing

guys, I started with CS in 2005, when CS was on TOP OF ALL INET GAMES!!!!!........ and players like; fisker, heaton, spawn, vilden, (mostly swedish members, cuz they were simply the best) also some american members like fRod, southamerican like cogu, KIKOOOO, and also some lunatic hai members and so on, back then.. it was a whole other level... they were considered legit stars, I remember watching spawns albums at SK gaming web, he uploaded some photos from korea or japan.. everybody wanted to take pictures with him, nowadays its just a joke, CSGO will NEVERRRRRRRRRRRR, and i mean NEVERRRRRRRRRRRR achieve 10% of what cs 1.6 achieved. HeatoN in his 3-4 years achieved 1000x more then f0rest in his 8+ years ;) think about it. thats why NiP 2005 FTW!!!!! btw; fisker is the most awesome player ever in CS. end of story, he literally won cpl2005 (imo best tournament ever in CS) and since then he was my fav. player. nowadays ppl just visit HLTV.org. Is there any other site about CS ? .. I dont think so, many years ago there was; gotfrag, HLTV, SKgaming, fnatic, MANYYYYYYYYYYYYY MORE i cant think of right now, and whats most funny is that most of my friends that DONT even remember CS now, THEY actually played CS back then! because it was a must! if you were 12+ years old with internet, CS was just a MUST game to play online, but after 2008 or so.. it slowly began to die.. sad but Tr00. CS/QUAKE/WOW = ESPORTS
2013-09-08 03:04
Oooh oooh, I remember. :D
2013-09-08 03:09
I don't think you get it man. Honestly. Yes 1.6 was legendary. No CS:GO won't be legendary. It simply can't. Other times other rules. Accepting it is the best we can do as fans so we can move on and continue to enjoy some CS.

CS:GOat destroyed the skills of f0rest, GTR and Xizt. :(
2013-09-08 06:02
it happens,it takes some time and some days to get used to 1.6 again the problem is that in 1.6 you had to work a lot with angles, shoulder peeking and getting some nice tapshots while in go none of it exists, you have no idea where your bullets are going, you barely play with angles and you can play in the middle of everything that you wont be punished nearly as much as in 1.6,sad but true

valve, stop being ignorant...look at how a 13 year old game can still influence the community...damn sure that there would have been half the spectators to watch GO match if they have conducted it... FUCKING STOP FEEDING DOTA2 and help our beloved community
2013-09-08 09:50
Thank god that 1.6 is dead forever. After watching that ugly game where everyone only spray, where bullets go everywhere and game is glitchy. Thankg god that this ugly piece of shit deaded.

Even though it was only a showmatch there's one conclusion after this match. Some time ago it was said that old cs stars would not find themselves in what current 1.6 or GO look like. This is not true. Surely from the tactics and teamplay side they would need just some time, but skillwise, they're equal.
2013-09-08 10:12
vod?
2013-09-08 10:16
Man i soo miss 1.6. It has given me alot of good memories and the only thing valve cannot take away are those memories. Else i guess they have taken everything.
2013-09-08 10:19
f0rest was pretty bad tbh in those games!
2013-09-08 10:29
no demo ? srsly ???
2013-09-08 10:30
fifflaren too strong i bet the new NiP would have won the GO match, no doubt
2013-09-08 10:37
plz give demo!!!
2013-09-08 10:38
old 1.6 >>>>
2013-09-08 10:38
The amount of highlights:DD, Xizt double /w wallbang awp, heaton glock ace, friberg 2x -3 deagle fast. It was just awesome. And those knife kills. Simply fun and epic
2013-09-08 10:47
GTR 4k pistol round, that was before ddos and restart of the match
2013-09-08 12:32
Oh didin't know that, i came from work and started watching right after when heaton got his ace
2013-09-08 13:26
nobody saw but they said he made it
2013-09-08 13:28
Oh.. I remember something that anders said, ok ty bro.
2013-09-08 15:10
You'd think with 1.6 being so old, the fan boys would be grown up now, evidently not! Such bitterness and hate!

ˇthe 1 thing i dont get is the first pistol on nuke. how the f did they know that t's were rushing under tower outside? other than that, it was truly awesome!
2013-09-08 11:17
f0rest could read Old Nip's teamchat on Nuke for some reason. Don't know how or if he did it more than just the first round :p
2013-09-09 15:48
No demo? :C
2013-09-08 11:28
you can watch the vods :)
2013-09-08 13:46
Great stuff! :)
2013-09-08 11:28
haha even in nip vs nip legends they fucking interview only fifflaren fml
2013-09-08 11:46
this.. so many legendary players and they interview the worst player that ever played in nip.
2013-09-08 13:40
Potti and HeatoN was interviewed and friberg. /w f0rest deathstare.
2013-09-08 15:12
even so...fiff shouldn't even be shown on camera in this matches
2013-09-09 12:17
Why not? He's a important part in the successful NiP team 2012-2013
2013-09-09 16:24
yeah for team 2012-2013 but when there are so many legends whom many of us haven't seen nor heard of for so long I don't get how the fuck he even gets an interview
2013-09-10 00:07
Really fun! Though, i bet its easier to play 1.6 without playing any game at all, other than going from GO to 1.6!
2013-09-08 12:11
"i bet its easier to play 1.6 without playing any game at all, other than going from GO to 1.6" troll.me/images/jackie-chan-whut/my-brai..
2013-09-08 12:19
The new NiP didn't exactly play all the seriously. Also they had 2 players who can't be considered stars from the past when it comes to 1.6.
2013-09-09 15:50
maybe some photos, demos?
2013-09-08 12:34
Where can I see demos or vods for those matches?
2013-09-08 12:30
Loved it, great show. Too bad there are stupid people out there who like to attack every time they see an IP address. I would have loved to see the GO match too, but apparently trolls always win. Also.... Anders! Good job casting and all, but camera operating isn't the same in 1.6! You have to practice more my friend!
2013-09-08 12:33
I don't know, but I have the feeling a cod fan ddosed it :P!
2013-09-08 12:33
Clearly the biggest haters of GO are cod fans.

I'm glad you 1.6 diehards aren't gonna play GO. Last thing that GO needs is more over inflated egos complaining about the game. It's time for a new generation of CS players.

I really enjoyed the matches, but i thought HeatoN's aim was proper weird the entire bo3. It was shaking and everything lol. youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailp.. Like here where f0rest jumps off and his aim was trying to follow him but it just started shaking eratically up and down. REAL weird, oh well they were fun games though.
2013-09-08 20:47
They had weird rates, that's why it looks fucked up
2013-09-08 21:01
Guess you're new to the scene? HeatoN is famous for his shaky aim, not only for his spray control but seems he does it for pistols too.

new to the scene, been playing since 2004 lol, never noticed heaton had such shakey aim though. Just looked strange that's all.
2013-09-09 00:24
It's just the right hand equivalent of spamming Q
2013-09-09 02:18
the caster had ex_interp 0.1 and bad rates and heaton probably uses accel and high sens and the caster client cs wasnt catching up completely

Yeah, that could explain it really.
2013-09-09 14:55
He doesn't. He just shakes his aim.
2013-09-09 19:57
sure, but the shaking appeared after he shots
2013-09-09 21:25
Still, watch old demos of him.
2013-09-10 21:00
Some photos, anyone?
2013-09-08 22:03
From left to right: Potti, zet, Heaton, fisker and ahl, correct ?
2013-09-09 03:40
Nope. ahl, zet, heaton, fisker, potti :)
2013-09-09 05:09

2013-09-09 08:11
ye comparing zet from 2005 to 2013 changed a lot. Atleast not on weed 24/7 anymore ; )
2013-09-09 13:57
zet used to smoke weed? didn't know that.
2013-09-10 11:10

cool match but i def gotta say that i dont miss the stupid crouch walking of 1.6. nearly ruins the entire game watching players bounce up n down like fucking ducks or something.

2013-09-09 17:25
Watched a rebroadcast after everyone saying 1.6 is so exciting, buuut couldn't find any emotions. :( edit: I was wrong looool. But not sooo much more exciting than go i guess :P

2013-09-10 07:18
zet didn't ruined his level playing cs:go like f0rest etc did..... open your eyes ppl 1.6 > all
2013-09-10 08:53
GG nice match :)
2013-09-10 10:12
Was good fun to watch. I still can't see why people say 1.6 play is better than CSGO. Personally (opinion here...) 1.6 aim doesn't look anywhere near as crisp as CSGO and the headshots are ridiculous on 1.6 Semmler is a pretty wicked caster though, good at bigging up plays. Hope to see him cast some CSGO LANs.
2013-09-10 12:16
Hope you didn't get that from the stream...
2013-09-10 21:05
I used to watch a lot of 1.6 and css but never played 1.6. They are all great to watch, as the genre is entertaining. I loved watching and playing cod as well (back in the day). Just can't see why people seem to love viewing 1.6 but hate every other fps game.
2013-09-10 21:41
Well the dodgy headshots look dodgy because of the spectator mode, as well as weird interp and rates. Afaik the reg is a lot better in 1.6 than the other 2 games.
