The 2005 NiP team has won the Inferno Online showmatch 2-1 (14-16 de_dust2, 16-12 de_nuke, 16-14 de_inferno) versus the current CS:GO team in Counter-Strike 1.6.
With nothing on the line the match clearly wasn't overly serious, but it still managed to draw over 25,000 spectators at the game's peak, late on a Saturday evening in Europe.
The likes of Marcus "zet" Sundström, Emil "HeatoN" Christensen and Tommy "Potti" Ingemarsson don't show up daily, and this time it was for Inferno Online's new location's opening event.
zet and the other old NiP members prevailed in the showmatch
They teamed up with former SK duo Michael "ahl" Korduner and Christer "fisker" Eriksson to take on the world's best Counter-Strike: Global Offensive team, also known as NiP.
Due to a DDoS attack the match was first postponed and then the CS:GO section of it had to be canceled, with only a Counter-Strike 1.6 best-of-three taking place, and the 2005 NiP team narrowly coming out on top.
We also had our signed NiP-zet- jersey giveaway competition running for the match, and the winner will be published and contacted in the coming days.
