Valve has announced a partnership with DreamHack that will see a $250,000 tournament being held later this year.
Last month, Valved introduced a new featured called Arms Deal, a market for players to collect, purchase and sell decorated weapons that can be used ingame, with a portion of proceeds from the sale of the eSports case going towards funding gaming events.
It has now been revealed that through the Arms Deal, DreamHack Winter will hold a tournament with a whopping $250,000 prize purse, called DreamHack SteelSeries Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) Championship.
According to DreamHack, this is not the end of it, as the revenue sales from the Arms Deal will also help to "fuel prize pools at other upcoming CS:GO events."
