Astana Dragons came on top of mousesports in the grand final of FACEIT October Cup with 2-1 (16-12 on de_cache, 9-16 on de_dust2 and 16-4 on de_mirage).

With a mixture of top and upcoming teams battling for a total of $1,500, October edition of the FACEIT Cup set off in fashion, where we saw Estonian underdogs of MayaM taking SK Gaming to overtime in an real thriller on de_nuke, but eventually they fell short versus a more experienced side.

Initial problems for the Swedes seemed to be reconstructed in the second round, where they were unable to close the deal against mousesports, even though they managed secure the first map in their favour.

On the other side of the bracket, Astana Dragons proved to be a dominant force, tracking their recent strong performance in SLTV StarSeries VIII. Not losing a single map in the process, the Ukrainians set off to face mousesports in the Grand Final.

Akhundov seems to be clicking well with his new team

Taking place on de_cache, the Germans did manage to put a barrier towards their opponents, not letting them to create a bigger score margin until the very end when the Dragons managed to close the deal with 16-12.

Second map on de_dust2 brought us a completely different story, with mousesports taking over the wheel and setting off to a comfortable 9-1 lead. Ukrainians managed to turn the round number eleven, but it didn't seem that the comeback was a valid option, especially after their opponents won remaining three out of four rounds.

Second half started off really well for the Dragons, but the Germans, led by a great performance from Nikola "LEGIJA" Ninić, finished off the map in their favour with 16-9.

Valve's version of de_mirage was the deciding map in the encounter. Ninić continued with the astonishing performance in the knife round as well, clutching a one versus four to determine the sides on the final map.

Funny how big the " Astana disband" Astana without Edward is nothing shit was right after they kicked Edward. well stats speak for themselfs Since Kucher joined Astana went 7-0 in matches killing every team they faced It definitely was the right choice
2013-11-14 07:04
markeloff's new 30min interview with ENG subtitles youtube.com/watch?v=c9WuUKxx8r4 where he talks reasons for Edward's departure as well as lots of other stuff...
2013-11-14 07:11
there are no ENG subs, you can force youtube to force translate the automated russian-ukranian subs but it most of the time it makes no sense

2013-11-14 08:20
well maybe its just in my imagination. I'd shit my pants of if he really do that.
2013-11-14 08:55
You wouldnt be the only one :D
2013-11-14 15:14
maybe he's doing it purpose? :D
2013-11-14 08:24
Markeloff has been carrying Astana since the were created in nearly every game ! he was winning almost all the important rounds and did play amazing. Now he has 1 bad game lol
2013-11-14 10:12
He's playing bad ever since they had defeated by clan mystic(dosia carrying them back then but they still lose) as well edward. now they kicked edward.
2013-11-14 10:40
And now kick markeloff and AD might become a top team.
2013-11-14 08:40
Lol yeha since they arent a top team right now ? as in even with Edward they were allready #3 after VG and NIP currently they look even stronger
2013-11-14 10:13
Nah, top 5 maybe maybe. But not top 3.
2013-11-14 14:06
Their achievements say they are top 3. Sit down hater.

without VG an NiP in the cup must be very hard for AD.
2013-11-14 08:52
Yeah this indeed was pretty boring cup without them tbh.. Only a couple of interesting games.

2013-11-14 11:25
No.
2013-11-14 11:26
Well yeah, they got DDosed.
2013-11-14 11:27
thats not the fucking reason they lost, bro. mouz was clearly better!
2013-11-14 11:30
Well they had 10-7 on a weapon round and pyth had 1-2 guys in the back, and got lagged out(one of many examples). Of course mouz was better when SK have a guy that laggs out 24/7 and they have to play 4on5 some rounds and when he does rejoin he have 800 dollars. So yeah, they should have won de_cache.
2013-11-14 11:32
GoM solid results, without tactics and always with default :D

Is it my impression, or markeloff is having a hard time to fit in Astana Dragons? Until now i have never see him stepping up like in his past team Navi :s I still think that if edward and markloff were in Navi right now, they would be in a superior level since they know each other pretty well. But still, nice play Astana :)
