LGB eSports defeated fnatic 2-1 (19-21 de_mirage, 16-13 de_inferno, 26-24 de_cache) last night in FACEIT December Championship's grand final to win the cup and $800.

Opening round of FACEIT's December Championship saw each of the qualified teams get knocked out without being able to put up much of a fight, as the invited teams proved they were clearly stronger of the bunch.

In the semi-finals Danish n!faculty took fnatic to their limit on de_train as they forced an overtime, but weren't able to take down the DreamHack champions, who prevailed 21-17.

The other semi-final saw Kenny "kennyS" Schrub's Recursive, led by his strong play, put up twelve rounds on LGB eSports but ultimately bow out as well, setting up an all Swedish grand final.

twist played great as a stand-in for LGB eSports

The grand final proved to be one of the best so far in CS:GO despite DDoS issues and the late hour it was played in. First map de_mirage saw fnatic win 21-19 in overtime, gaining an early lead.

Led by stand-in Simon "twist" Eliasson's performance, LGB struck back on de_inferno, winning 16-13 to tie the series at now, now once again playing with Olof "olofm" Kajbjer, who was missing in regulation of map one.

The third and final map couldn't be decided in regulation either, and the teams were still tied after an overtime at 20-20 on de_cache, but ultimately it was LGB who came out on top with the narrowest of margins at 26-24.

olof so bad this match. I would never expect that, he's a beast!
2013-12-20 17:13
He did not play the entire match though. Someone kept on crashing so he subbed for him. He still has quite a lot of kills because of it, even though the rest was warmed up and he just started :)

2013-12-20 18:28
We saw 3 great aces from this game that should be recognized by some moviemakers. Dennis and Skytten on Cache I think and pronax on inferno if I'm not mistaken.
2013-12-20 18:33
problem is to get the demos of the faceit-matches
2013-12-20 18:54

2013-12-20 20:41

LGB look strong really strong. They have the players to become #1 team in the near future. As for SK, they need to drop their current team and pickup ex VG, ASAP!!!!
