Astana Dragons lose CS:GO team
Astana Dragons' team have announced that they have parted company with the organisation.
Created back in July following the disbandment of the old Virtus.pro squad, Astana Dragons have failed to live up to the hype surrounding the team.
A third-place finish at the ESWC finals did raise eyebrows, but then the team gave a pale account of themselves at DreamHack Winter and at the StarSeries finals, finishing 5th-8th and fourth in these two events, respectively.
More recently, it was announced that the team would not be able to attend the ESEA Finals in Dallas in January after being denied a visa permit to enter the United States.
As many feared, all is not well within the team, who have now decided to cut all ties with the AD organisation.
"We regret to inform that we have left the Astana Dragons project. The decision was mutual," team manager Sergey "lmbt" Bezhanov said.
"We are very grateful for the support that the organization gave us
“Sometimes we have had to face bitter experiences, but the team have decided to stay together, no matter what.
This is the beginning of something new. You will see us in 2014 with the same lineup, but with a different approach and with a new organization. Stay tuned…"
Astana Dragons had the following lineup:
Dauren "AdreN" Kystaubayev
Kirill "ANGE1" Karasiow
Mihail "Dosia" Stolyarov
Yegor "markeloff" Markelov
Emil "kucher" Akhundov
