NiP pull out of FFO3, H2k step in

One minute after twelve NiP have decided to pull out of Fnatic FragOut Season 3, while H2k Gaming will step in as their replacement.

Just after the second batch of teams and the bracket were announced for Fnatic FragOut Season 3, NiP have informed the organizers that they have to pull out of the league due to a tight schedule in the coming weeks.

Replacing the Swedes will be Assembly Winter champions and EMS Nordic finalists H2k Gaming. Due to this change, the bracket was also updated as NiP's first seed was handed to fnatic and all the other teams were moved up the ladder.

Therefore, the new bracket will pit the two French squads who recently exchanged players, Clan-Mystik and LDLC.com, while H2k will challenge the DreamHack Winter champions fnatic in the first round.

Sweden fnatic vs. Norway H2k Gaming
France Clan-Mystik  vs. France LDLC.com
Sweden LGB vs. Denmark unu.AiN
Ukraine ex-Astana Dragons
vs. Germany mousesports

The matches will kick off this week, and the format of the tournament is double elimination best-of-three.

You can expect our Dreamteam game with some prizes to be announced tomorrow, and as always, HLTV.org will be your home of complete coverage of every match in Fnatic FragOut League Season 3, so stay tuned!

why show some strategies in tournaments that the 1st place will win only €1,200 ... EMS One Katowice is just around the corner and in the 1st announcement Fnatic don't consist in the list so they probably exitate but in the end "well its our tournament will be bad if we dont play"

Its all about the money now? They keep saying they want back up on the Top. Hint ; Start playing, guess they start to loose fan base aswell. Anyways full time gamers for sure got more than one set of strats, use it to your advantage instead.

nip could go on vacation for a year and their first match back would get a higher view count than any other team, the nip name is legendary. if they have been on vacation it doesnt make much sense to immediately start playing in an official tournament where if they get anything but 1st people will talk trash
2014-02-11 01:40
rip nip
2014-02-11 00:19
would be nice to know if the "tight schedule" includes something that we don't know of. Not like there is any other huge tournaments or lans until Katowice, i like nip but it suck to not see them play for idk how long? Two months? anyway, they are probably gonna go to Katowice with full strength so that will be fun to see. Although would love for fnatic to beat them in the finals again :D

Faith lost in NiP :( I remember a time where the name NiP was in every fucking tournament, no matter the size or prizepool. This was a period of dominance.. The thing about pulling yourself out of "less important" tournaments being in NiPs position is, that it creates this outside pressure from the fans, who suddenly expect greatness even though it is not rightfully to assume. Just fucking play! Maybe that is why you guys has lost territorium, because other teams gain valuable experience on how the current meta is shifting every time they participate in something. Stop fucking around and start being beastmode again. I don't care whether you finish 1 or 5, it is all about presence!

obviously theyre practicing and making strats etc. for katowice, but its sort of boring not seeing them anywhere. i guess after the event theyre gonna participate in some of these leagues, or do you think they will just wait for the next major event?
2014-02-11 10:33
VERY BAD decision NiP you are pro gamers, you should participate in every tourney there is! imagine Barcelona playing only Champions league and ignoring Spanish league, Spanish cup and other tournaments ... very unprofessional

like you can play champions league without spanish league...holy mother of earth. and what is unprofessional here? they were on vacation, why should they play less important tournament more or less without preparation when ems katowice will be next month? like you said they are progamers, its their job so why they should participate in tournament with €1,200 prize pool instead of bootcamping for tournament with 250k prize pool? its sad that they pulled of but its completely understandable and if you ask me,its rather professiona than unprofessional because they dont want to play in tournament without preparation...

I find this to be a bad decision by NiP.. I think they kinda need the "practise" in real competitions, even if its an online one, with not that much prizes.

+++ I'm interested to see how not playing in real competition will work out for them in Katowice... I mean, its an ONLINE tourny, is it really gonna conflict much with their current schedule of waking up and practicing?

Indeed, also losing in an online tournament shouldnt be such a big deal for players like they have.. Meaning they have really nothing to lose, except to really experience the feel of an official match again (after such a long break)..

NiP got talent, but i dont think they thought this thru. They are doing the same thing as last time (DH) when they ignored two tournaments to practice and they ended up losing to fnatic in the final.

I think it's like any game. You can practice all you want, but there is no substitute for a real match. A real match will keep them sharp. They did play too much and it would eventually cause a burn out, but now they have gone too far the other way and are playing too little.

I think it's good tbh. So teams like h2k will show up on tournaments like these and prove themself. go H2stronK
2014-02-11 19:02
I dont understand how people criticize NIP for taking some time off and not coming straight away to small price pool tournament to show all their tactics. Even funnier is that this is compared to Winter DH. A biggest tournament in the history, in which they placed second. They only lost because the opponent had scouted their tactic in and out. From those perspectives, this is the Only correct thing to do.
