NiP win FACEIT March Cup

Ninjas in Pyjamas came from behind to beat LGB eSports 2-1 and win FACEIT's March Cup.

Following a mouth-watering first day that brought a number of surprising results, such as Titan in the quarter-finals at the expense of Property or 3DMAX, who had just undergone a roster change, moving past fnatic, only four teams remained in contention for the first prize of $1,600.

NiP breezed past 3DMAX 16-4 in their semi-final match, while on the other half of the bracket it was neck-and-neck between Property and LGB-eSports, with Dennis "dennis" Edman's side running out 26-24 victors after several overtimes.

GeT_RiGhT once again in great form

The first map of the best-of-three grand final was de_season, where NiP had just defeated Virtus.pro, in the ESEA League. This time around, NiP were simply no match for their opponents as LGB picked up a stunning 16-4 victory, with Simon "twist" Eliasson leading the scoreboard on an impressive +17 rating.

The next two maps tell a whole different story: inspired by Christopher "GeT_RiGhT" Alesund, NiP picked themselves up and ran out 16-5 and 16-13 winners on de_dust2 and de_train, respectively, to win their first FACEIT trophy of 2014.

Such a debatable POV. Do you really think NiP chokes in major tournaments given their record and time together as a team? Arguably teams like Titan have choked way more. NiP lost EMS last year to Titan who were clearly the better team at that point, and EMS this year to VP who were on another level all tourney. Only time imo you can call NiP as choking would be DHW against fnatic - who nobody considered as a contender and had a good anti-strat advantage over NiP.

+1 nip.gl/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/turnam.. Pretty damn good track record for less than 1.5 years. And there isn't any 2014 results. That's pretty amazing record for any team. You just cant win always when skill level of top teams is so close to each other.

Actually all your 3 points are true. Last point proved correct by NiP winning this small online tourney. Finally some nerdgasms for NiP fanbois. GG.

Nope changed it when NEo's team came under VP. "<3 FX, AGAiN, US, ESC, VP" has kept on changing depending on which organization was supporting NEo's team.

That's because on season LGB crushed NiP winning with 3-4 members alive. On D2 NiP many times winning with only 1-2 members survive.
